2023: MLB news not AL Central-related
So far so good but extremely small sample and maybe not facing much LHP. I'll be watching his progress. I liked his entire game not just his hitting but hitting is always the 1st sign that you belong. Defense also makes you useful for late innings when you don't start and in all 3 OF positions with a decent arm.

Kopech
I think he left him in because the BP was gassed from all the innings they pitched against the Astros and managers will let a starting pitcher stay in because of that. He also let Ruiz wear it when he also got pummeled and then finally had to bring in Alberto to pitch. Some might argue that with and off day today he could've pulled Kopech earlier but then he's bringing someone who might already be gassed or because he would've had to cover more innings would have to eventually bring in someone was was gassed and risk arm problems since most of the relievers are only good for 1 inning. Kopech also had a late start on pitching in spring training because of his knee. He could be at the point now that some pitchers get in ST with a dead arm. If after 2 or 3 starts he's still ineffective I'll be concerned. Other might be concerned after his next start but I'll give it a bit longer than that. How many Starts did Kopech have in ST? 2 maybe? Lynn between the WBC and ST maybe had 4 or 5.

Sox win; split series @HOU
Good post and I have also been emphasizing that despite 2 years and 1 Covid year together Eloy and Robert have never really played together for an extended period where they both were hitting at their best. Most of the time one or the other was hurt and other times not performing at their best. Of course we still haven't seen it but if they can both somehow avoid the long DL stints that have plagued them I hope to see each perform near the top of their ability for at least 100 games. Having your 2 supposedly best players live up to expectations would be HUGE. Then toss in every other year good Moncada, a better Vaughn a healthy Grandal and some lefties like Benintendi and Colas who also improve the OF defense there might be a lot more good on this team than we have experienced before in the window. The starting pitching still has to hold up over the long haul as does the health of all. The success of the rebuild was based on players who were supposed to end up better than Abreu. It never happened but it has to happen and this might be the only year for it to happen before we lose the starting pitching.

Sox win; split series @HOU
Good series. Starting pitching good. Usually Houston can blow us out. But caveat for the depleted 'Stros lineup. Good hitting. BABIP has to be sky high. RISP hitting not good. Defense very good with Robert. ALso his double and HR ! Some HR's from non catchers was good. Timmy clutch hit. Colas 2 hits. Grandal 3 hits and a BB Vaughn 2 hits Moncada awesome ! 2 doubles and HR. Still have to take a lot more pitches. Timmy Great series !
