  1. #99 . I wanted him to get to 100 before he got traded . HR , great diving catch... You watching Phillies ?
  2. You'd think he wasn't hitting while playing 3rd the way some people are carrying on about it. He's hitting, he's fielding fairly well . It's all small sample size so far but Sox have looked like a better team no matter where he's playing.
  3. You never know he could be mentoring guys like Baldwin, Teel, Montgomery, and Quero for when he hits LH or some of the other young hitters. Some of the Sox young guys are doing pretty well. You can't take that for granted that they have made a pretty smooth transition to MLB so far. Power usually comes last when you move up a level especially when the emphasis is on quality PAs
  4. He doesn't have to be great right away. Games will be lost regardless. As long as he becomes competent at it eventually.
  5. Weird how people eventually come around to things I said months ago.
  6. And that's not going to happen was my point. Have at it if you like thinking there are fantasy offers out there. Very few trades have gone down so far and the typical returns are pitchers. The market is setting up to be much like last year.
  7. Taylor hasn't proven anything except that he throws hard. You'd selling low. I don't get the fascination with moving him. He barely pitched in college. They're being careful with his usage. We have no idea if he might become a starter but he's a baby in his MLB time now . It's not like he was a big top 100 name. He's still a project . You'd be trading all his upside for a downside price.
  8. Dodger Stadium parking is just bad if not worse considering home games are always sold out. Everything crammed into a ravine. The fan experience is better when you have some of the best teams and players in MLB.
  9. I believe he was traded by Milwaukee because he wanted to continue being a starting pitcher and they wanted to use him in the bullpen. As far as attitudes go that isn't so bad to still believe you can start.
  10. That dream stayed alive for 14 of the possible 27 innings. Not too shabby against a team generally considered to be much better than you.
  11. I find it hard to believe JR doesn't run things exactly the way he wants to. He's not taking business advice from Chris Getz. He knows his life is nearly over and he always said his sons would sell the Sox after he died. Getz was hired because he was right there and cheap . So JR probably liked him and he was a hire of covenience. I've said many times after the failed rebuild that once the Ishbias got involved JR entered into the estate planning phase of his life. The Ishbia's were minority owners with minimal invested but looking to buy a team so they made a play for the Twins but then JR said look guys if you rather buy the Sox than the Twins let's work something out because the Sox are worth more and we are more solvent than the Twins. So if JR was the key figure in the Ishbias being the next owners , I'd like to say thank you at least for that too. Not in a sarcastic way because it should mean the Sox will have very rich owners soon enough.
  12. I can't hate the guy because he's not a good baseball owner. He's running his business as a way to provide for his kids and employees. I'm sure lots of the regular people he has kept on for many years love the guy. He's just conservative with not wanting to pile up debt which is a sound way to run most any business, just not a baseball team.
  13. With the Sox record and young arms I think they just like to use the more reliable guys in games they're ahead if they can do that on a regular schedule if possible. Taylor and Vasil will be fresh tomorrow for the rubber match. Didn!t you say just don't get swept or no hit ? I know that was a common theme before the 1st game. So far mission accomplished.
  14. Damn JR walking through the crowd with minimal bodyguards around him. If I were him I'd use younger bigger guys around me.
  15. Was bound to happen sooner or later facing the 2nd best offense in the league and the BP had been on a pretty good stretch the last month or so. If you had to pick Sox weaknesses you'd put hitting and defense as worse than the BP based on a lot of metrics. Can't win if you can't score.
  16. They're the 2nd worst team in baseball . They're going to be playing a lot of subpar players. The Sox can still win this series .
