  1. The couldn't stick with the Sox comment Dick made is also inaccurate. The Sox couldn't carry 3 catchers so either McGuire or Zavala had to go because both were out of options so one of them would've had to been DFA'd. McGuire was probably worth more in a trade than Zavala because of his defense but since he hit LH and Grandal was staying no matter what to get the LH catcher AB's , McGuire was the one traded. Hahn actually did well to get a useful BP piece for him.
  2. You got a like for me not only for your post, but because you didn't think starting the thread late early was a jinx when the last few late posted threads got the Sox wins like the superstition/jinx with the banner.
  3. Not haters just vastly lowered expectations . We're all here because we love the Sox. We just don't like all the bad stuff that's derailed the rebuild.
  4. 4 in a row , 6 in a row at home. Big double by Eloy down 0-2 to tie up. Moncada delivers a knock to drive in the 2nd 2 . 4 run rally started with 2 outs. Cueto goes 8 sparkling innings. Liam with the tightrope walk save.
  5. For a guy who knows his stats you should know Sheets performs as good as any guy on the roster at home offensively. Terrible defensive all around and offensively on the road he sucks too. But citing WAR when he's at home isn't great. However I'd be the 1st one to send him down if you bring up Colas.
  6. On every 2 strike count in his career he's been terrible . Even on 3-2 his slugging is only .356. The 0-2, 1-2 counts I understand most hitters suck but when you get to 2-2 and 3-2 it should be better than he is.
  7. If the rest of the Sox were living up to their billings Zavala isn't a big deal .Not sure why you would mention him. He's a AAAA back up catcher.
  8. For sure but do you think it's got any better since he left in light of the Cueto and McGuire comments ?
  9. The Sox are like a guy who knows he stepped into a big pile of shit and just shrugs and walks around the house wearing the same shoes. Houston is going to stomp them into oblivion !
  10. Remember when everyone hated Keuchel for talking bad about the Sox while he was sucking ? Seems like he had good reasons....but he still sucked.
  11. The perks of living in SO. Cal I guess Got Muhammed ALi's autograph a long time ago just by being in Hollywood at the Famous little bar next to the Pantages Theater called the Frolic Room and ALi walked in.
  12. What's up with all these minor league players pulling the ball for HR's. Don't they know in the Majors you have to go opposite field to get hits ??? Fuck HR's !!
  13. It's not my ballsies on the line. I'd have him up right now to face the Astros. Sox aren't magically going to start hitting until there is a lefty hitter in the lineup who inspires some trepidation from the opposition .
  14. Again ? Didn't they face Rogers in his 1st rehab start ? Colas hit him then.
  15. I'm no expert and I'm not sure there is one on this site for how all MLB teams develop their hitters . That's a vast amount of knowledge. But since he is with the Sox, talent wins out over development usually . I think all hitters tinker to some degree but I mean there's vast amounts of knowledge for hitters to consume in books from Ted Williams and many others .Frank Thomas just let his hitting do all the talking and he could've probably been brought up sooner than he was. He never missed a beat. I think it's always best to say, given our ignorance, that while it appears the Sox don't do everything they can, due to Jerry skimping on player development and many other areas, that if the Sox are so bad, get him in AAA asap and if he keeps mashing for 2 weeks bring him up. They won't follow my timeline but it's impossible to say if a hitter just wasn't talented enough or if it was coaches who screwed then up. I think most players who fail blame themselves because they are the ones ultimately in charge of what feels best to them.
  16. Had an interesting find at a Goodwill near me. Tenacious D The Complete Master Works on DVD but the kicker is that it looks like it was autographed by Jack Black and Kyle Gass on the front artwork under each of their pictures with a silver paint pen .
  17. No such thing as momentum against the Kitties. They weren't exactly kicking their asses. If the Sox can call up Colas for the games against Houston and Guardians I think a lot more of us tune in . But I'm 95% sure the Sox won't do it.
  18. I understand but plenty of hitters succeed at younger going on 24 in a month. I know we haven't seen him in the minors long and it sucks he's missed so much time but that's the way it happened.
  19. But if he gets right which is what we are all hoping , he should return to normal hitting RHP better. Either that oblique is still bothering him or its in his head and he's afraid to turn it loose.
