  1. Also after Tim got hurt, Eloy only 36 unproductive AB's, Moncada and Grandal sucking so I don't know if you can draw too many conclusions about sending down Sheets .
  2. Right now we have a typical example of turning a negative into a positive. Sox hitting came to life without TA in the lineup . Even though it's unlikely Mendick continues on his current hot streak , imagine if he does. Bam! 2nd base problem solved in house without Yolbert, Sosa, Leury or Harrison. Now if Moncada keeps getting better that's a good LHB . Add one more LHB somewhere and throw the starting RHP off his rhythm a bit and you get more mistakes to the RHH. I've almost convinced myself the bad RHH most of the season until Abreu, Pollock and Vaughn got real hot is not really because of bad weather but because too many RHP get too comfortable/locked in without facing any competent LHH's in the Sox lineup. If the pitcher only has to game plan against mostly RHH that makes his job a lot easier working mostly to one side of the plate against RHH's. Hot streaks come and go but to get better consistency from the RHH you need productive LHH's in the lineup just to fuck with the pitcher getting too comfortable.
  3. Yes LHH would fatten up on poor RHP . But it's pretty common baseball knowledge that if you do something more often the easier it is easier to get into a groove. It's why you practice so much in any sport. So the more you can mess with how a pitcher approaches LHH and RHH the better off you are. It's the same reason why pitchers try not to pitch the ball at the same speed and throw it in the same location. You see something too much and you adjust to it. Same reason why hitter's step out of the box to try to disrupt a pitchers timing and prevent him from getting into a groove. Same thing applies automatically when a pitcher has to jump from a LHH to a RHH and he has to alter the things he does on the mound. The worse you are as pitcher the more those things affect you. You want pitchers to make mistakes and it's easier to get those mistakes when you disrupt their routine. Just a few mistakes can be the difference between winning or losing.
  4. How convenient it is for you to forget he had less than 400 PA and less than 300 AB's because of his constant knee problems and his age last year. So no it isnt monday morning quarterbacking to say his knees are a problem that has contributed to his predictable age and injury related decline. Eloy hasnt put up even close to a full season since his 22 yr old rookie season in 2019. Less than 300 AB's and each season since then because of injuries. He can't be counted on to stay on the field. What good is his prime when he can't stay on the field and actually produce like we all thought he could. . With all that power he still hasn't figured out how to elevate the ball. He's a GB hitter extraordinaire ! Moncada is pretty much a total mystery to everyone and we might never see a season again from him like he had in 2019.
  5. I think you have to remember is that RHH who hit RHP good fatten up on stiffs but when you get to the playoffs and face better pitching it's just not easy for RHH to do as well. The statistical advantage of a LHH against RHP helps a lot and makes the pitcher change his approach and if you have enough of them in the lineup a pitcher who has to alter his approach from time to time can't get into a groove by throwing a bunch of sliders away to RHP. The more you make a pitcher RHP face LHH the better chance that they will make a mistake to a RHH because they haven't gotten into a groove spotting the slider. A pitcher might change where he stands on the rubber when facing opposite handed hitters or do other things differently . So the more he has to do those things the less time he'll have to get into that groove against so many same handed hitters.
  6. Pack a lunch for the meeting they would have later on it.
  7. I don't think his batting average would suddenly shrink because of batting 3rd. He would know in that spot if he is just himself he would get a lot of RBI's. We really aren't even sure if Tim just tryies to pull the ball with men on base or if it's just random that his RISP BA is worse.
  8. Doubtful. Hahn has to know somebody has to go and they need at least another solid LHH in the field. Santander is a FA in 2025 so not nearly enough control but a decent track record and he's having a solid year with power , more walks and less K's . He's not much of a fielder but neither is Burger so far. Maybe Santander + w/e for Burger.
  9. If you can get an equally impressive LH RF with almost as much control , sure.
  10. If you have the Apple app already on your smart tv any time you use it you're already signed in if you set it up originally with an Apple ID.
  11. Harry Son with the doinker for a ribeye. Give that ribeye to Lance !
  12. Not really plenty of good pitchers can thrive with that speed but you have to keep the hitters off balance with your other pitches and move the fastball around, up, down, in and out, use it as a show me or K pitch off the plate.
  13. Told you he was coming around in the Winner thread yesterday. I've like his swings the last few days both righty and lefty.
  14. I sent the part of the article quoted to my gay brother who has a big following on Facebook. He's not a sports fan but if he reposts it I think it will be received well among his friends.
  15. Just put your cursor over the title , left click and hold it a second . Title will then get smaller and in a rectangular box to be edited.
  16. Drama free last 4 inning with Lambert, Kelly and Lopez combining for 4 IP, 2 hits , 0 R, 6 K Vaughn 4/4 BB RBI ,RS Top of the order really producing. Top 5 had 10 hits. Pollock with 6 multi-hit games in a row. Moncada getting better.
  17. 2 in a row is good . 3 is better.
  18. BP with a nice night. Cease struggled but gave up 0 earned runs in 5 . Enough hitting for the win . 5-1 over the Tigers
  19. Baez and Robert a bit similar in the stances . Robert more open but Baez just as far away from the plate.
