  1. I don't think it's that scary but since no one has stepped up to prove they are a top player anyone they trade could end up being the one. It's actually kind of sad funny that Tatis, Jr. at a younger age has proven more than Eloy ,Moncada, Kopech really any young player on the Sox despite his injuries also. The one actual guy they didn't give any talent to get turns out to be the real keeper and every draft pick turns to dust.
  2. There is nothing going on that says Kelenic will have a better career than Madrigal. You sounds like you're talking about 5 years from now when Kelenic is a top player and Madrigal isn't.
  3. If I was a GM I wouldn't want Crochet. That's why I wanted him traded last year. Maybe Vaughn and Kopech gets that done who knows. That's another thing teams rather not get is 1st basemen.
  4. You know what bothers me. We keep getting all kinds of arguments who has the potential to be great, among Robert, Eloy, Moncada and now Vaughn and every year Abreu and Anderson turns out to be our best hitters. A couple of those dudes have to step up and stop getting injured. No one would be freaking out over missing out on a few players to make the team better if those guys start playing like we think think should. People last year didn't want to trade Vaughn, Kopech and Crochet. We are waiting on an awful lot of potential. I know they haven't been around long and are still young but someone please step up.
  5. Usually when you trade for a TOR starter you have to give up a pitcher with TOR potential. That would be Kopech+++
  6. Well he did say trade for a TOR starter . That might take Vaughn and Sheets though I would imagine teams not real anxious for2 DH's for a TOR starter.
  7. There are those here who think he'll get more than Marte so ....there's $22M wiggle room between $78M and $100M
  8. While I always lean toward the Sox not spending how would you feel if the Sox spent $100M on Conforto ?
  9. Maybe Sox sneak in the Gausman talks , that one not finished yet. LOL
  10. Love deals like that for always injured guys, fill em up with incentives.
  11. Yanks and Red Sox checked in recently and found out Semien's asking in the $200M range.
  12. Gausman deal could be done today with Morosi saying Jays are a finalist. MLBTR takes a stab at other teams involved " it isn’t known how many other teams are also still in the running. The Jays, Giants, Angels, Red Sox, Mets, and Mariners have all been linked to Gausman’s market at various points this winter." Looking increasingly unlikely that Marcus Semien signs before Dec. 1st. Yankees and Red Sox both indicating that a $200M+ asking price is too high. (Boras is his agent.) If Boras asking prices are high it's also unlikely we see an early deal on Michael Conforto. Owners could be thinking the SS market is saturated with too many high priced options with too few teams willing to pay and wait that market out. Cory Seager was also said to be interested in signing early is in the $300M stratosphere so that also seems unlikely. The Semien asking price makes it a long shot the White Sox get involved at least this early.
  13. Outside of being lefty and costing $8M those numbers sound suspiciously like some guy who was injured that got traded.
  14. Told you nothing would happen while you were away.
  15. That was a downright skillful use of the English language and quite humble while feigning arrogance.
  16. That didn't convince many here he was healthy. While I agree a showcase is unlikely ,if Boras thinks it will help ,you never know.
  17. No idea what gets it done but I would hope a Rodon and Conforto contract are both in that range though others think the Conforto price could exceed Martes contract. Any other year signing now would be super early but since Dec 1 is the deadline it's spurring some activity. There's little possibility Rodon signs early. He has to rest his arm and he might even end up having a showcase later on. It would help a lot to show him healthy but way too soon after the season for that. Only way I can see him signing early is he gets 3 years or more over $50M.
  18. HAHA ! Momma giving you a time out . Don't give the Sox a second thought, I'm sure nothing will happen.
  19. I'll stick with what I said. JV is 39 and coming off TJ . I'm just thinking not to expect a workhorse yr from him in 2022. That's pretty high risk even for a guy like JV. Thor also pretty high risk since he's coming off 2 years off. Rodon I'll also classify as high risk but most of those predicting his contract have him getting a multiple year offer. There is one I have seen at 1/$25 others 3 , 4 or 5 years from anywhere from $45-75M. If I had to predict who would pitch more innings this year of the 3 I'll stick with Rodon. But I'll honestly say it's a tossup given their ages and recent histories of non pitching and injuries. Don't know if Carlos will beat the Verlander contract but being 10 yrs younger I'd make the odds even.
