  1. Teel got home fast on that pitch . And oopsie error on KC brings home another. 6 -2 !
  2. The attempted force out at 2nd was a bad throw and pulled Witt off the bag only Robert slid way early and to get out of the way of a throw so he came up short and Witt still got the force out because he beat Robert to the base.
  3. Leasurely adventure but mission accomplished. LFG !!
  4. Glad KC didn't challenge the play at 3rd.
  5. That Leasure FB to Witt was straight as an arrow.
  6. Teel can be the hero today. We're all good with that right ?
  7. Looks like Robert went back to his 2023 leg lift and got his feet closer together.
  8. LFG bebe !! Win one for those fine fans in a full house !!
  9. Sox need to win this game with that great crowd today . LFG bebe !!
  10. Oh yeah lots of people here were all falling in the camp that getting fair value for Robert was impossible and it would embarrass a lot of people here . It's pretty funny that I get accused of being a Getz stan but now all the Getz haters are echoing my theory that Getz biggest mistake was not anything he did but something he didn't do and that was trade Robert in that off season.
  11. There were a lot of people around here echoing that very sentiment however. Everyone was going gaga over his 5 tool superstar rising and started to believe JR that it could be a quick turnaround. I think that's why it hurt people so much that the Sox were so bad because they felt they were duped. However it became apparent pretty early in the off-season that this was not going to be a quick turnaround and the Sox were rebuilding again. Trading Robert should have been a priority but a first time 1st year GM was probably pretty overwhelmed with trading just Cease. But who are you going to get a better return for Robert coming off his 1st ever good full season or Cease coming off a bad year ? Sox fans were also overvaluing Cease at the time in our famous thread with Orioles fans. If you were going hold onto one and hope for a rebound to increase value , he could have done that with Cease even though I was not a fan of that strategy with Cease.
  12. I actually think it was realistic knowing his injury history and a chance to sell high . I'm not sure Getz knew which direction the Sox were going to go but once he found out the budget was being slashed Robert should have been traded because it was apparently a rebuild and not a quick turn around scenario. Just based on Roberts checkered injury past you'd have to just lower your expectations for what you could get for him because selling high is the way to get the best value . Soxtalk always over valued how much he was worth and often talked about him being so good you couldn't get fair value which I always found greedy and ridiculous based on how many injuries kept him from being on the field . He was never a superstar but he had superstar ability that blinded fans assessment of him.
  13. It's likely inevitable that he'll find his swing again one day, maybe even this year either too late to get much for him or after he traded for a modest return . I'd just bid him a fond adieu an hope he can turn it around even if the Sox get little for him. There's a chance he continues this slump all year and he then becomes a Free Agent since no one will gamble $20M on him. If that happens it'll be interesting to see what a team is willing to spend on him if Boras remains his agent.
  14. Why ? So he can get injured or forget how to hit again ? He's a part of the past . He can theoretically get you a couple of good prospects who cost you minor league money not $20M per year for just 2 years with the 2nd year being likely a labor strike year. He's a part of the failed past and not the future. Elko's hit more HRs than Robert has since he's been called up on May 10th and that's with being sent back down for 2 weeks. Robert hasn't hit a HR since May 2nd. Since May 13th Robert , in games he's started is 10 for 62 with just 2 doubles being his only extra base hits. 4 RBI in those 17 games. The Sox record is 5 and 12 in those games. Since May 10th, in 11 games he's started, Tim Elko is 7 for 39 with 3 HRs and 6 RBI in those 11 Games and the Sox record is 5 and 6 .
  15. Thanks .It's a lot better than the panic posters who hover over every 10 AB slump.
  16. Throw Teel being called up to the best Sox news day of the year easily.
  17. I've always equated the phrase " days being numbered" as meaning 1000 + days. You don't? 😉
  18. So Ishbia's pull out of the Twins because they have too much debt but the Sox don't apparently. Doesn't sound to me like the Sox are in the red as much as some claim, including you who just said the Sox and Padres have lost the most ( by far) in RSN/ broadcast revenue.
  19. Didn't we all used to think that JR being the expert tax guy could always manipulate his books to pretty much always claim the Sox were losing money ? Isn't that part of his schtick as to why they could never land the big fish and echoed by the KW quote about not being able to give a guy a dollar if you only have 50 cents. I supposed things got worse post Covid but it's not like Covid hurt the Sox more than anyone else. The Sox contended for a few years after Covid but it collapsed quickly after locking up players who then took their health and newly signed wealth for granted along with JRs unwillingness to pay for a superstar and ignore development as always. Now we're at poverty level but JR has the money to invest in the 1901 project ? He's just doing everything he can to make his kids as rich as possible. He's stringing the Ishbia's along and giving fans a tiny bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Usually with JR that light is an oncoming train . I'll wait and see how this plays out before I get too excited. I'd be shocked if the Ishbia's put up a billion dollars for a stadium on the 78 unless they have full control 1st.
  20. However you would like a new stadium to be finished while the team is trending towards a playoff appearance, even if I'm having trouble visualizing both of those things now. It's a little too much to wrap my head around at this moment of JRs reign.
