  1. The only good thing about your scenario is it would make people forget about the other White Flag trade because this would blow that one away .
  2. That's no way to ask him for help ! He may prefer to be called a senior citizen or elderly gentleman.
  3. That's one of the 2 I was talking about , the other one they mentioned in the article was Ke'Bryan Hayes. I was probably mistaken that they happened on the same day. I just know I watched the videos on the same day.
  4. You might be right. Every generation thinking the next generational sucks is as old as the history of mankind. And every youngsters thinks that old men have nothing to offer, that experience means nothing. However I'm going to side with Kris Bryant on this one since he is a youngster saying how he was taught by his father so he obviously valued the opinion of an elder. This is because I can relate to what he said I suppose. I hated it when I hit a DP ball and I put all that hating myself into running as hard as I could to 1st on the crazy chance that I could be redeemed if a fielder made a mistake that would allow me to reach 1st base by sprinting hard. The worst thing that can happen to a poster on this board is feeling like the whole board thinks you're an idiot. That happened to me arguing over a bad base running play that cost the Sox a game. All these people telling you it's baseball 101etc etc. I don't think I convinced anyone I was right and I still think I am right. It was a hard position to defend because it was hard to find any support but I did a lot of research and wrote to a coach online and explained the situation and he said i was right . Then I found an article by Cal Ripken saying I was right. I still don't think I changed anyones mind but at least I felt a bit vindicated .
  5. I saw 2 guys who hit HR's yesterday get called out because they missed bases.
  6. I'd like to think they would want him in full season ball asap. He is already 19 and 20 in September. Fernando Tatis, Jr. is still only 22 made it to AA when he was 18 . The hype we have heard from Tatis Sr. is he thinks Elijah is more talented than Fernando, Jr. I know less teams makes it harder but he is one of the more interesting names I'd like to follow and to see him in full season ball.
  7. Thanks Quin. I read an article on the Cardinals pitchers that looked at spin rates for the past 4 seasons which is probably due to the info on Baseball Savant being available for that time period only. https://www.vivaelbirdos.com/2021/6/9/22525109/spinrates-doctored-balls-cardinals-2021 It might paint a more detailed picture by going back on some of our guys who have been around that long.
  8. No one is really addressing the elephant in the room here. Wasn't it reported the White Sox had the 2nd highest spin rate increase after the Dodgers ? IS anyone looking at any differences in our guys spin rates after the 4 minor league guys got suspended ?
  9. Ignore the top chart and focus on the 2nd one .Looks like a 1 game sample size of Trevor Bauer's spin rate on 3 different pitches. Then focus on the Avg spin rate on that day for each pitch , then the Yr.Avg spin rate for those pitches. You can see each pitch for the day is lower than the yearly average. The 4 seamer, cutter and slider spin rates all dropped
  10. So who can tell me what's going on with Elijah Tatis ? He should be 19 now. Has he filled out a little bit ? Is he playing anywhere ? Is he also having "visa" issues ?
  11. I don't think I've ever seen anything in an MLB game that I would describe as creepy. I'm hoping to see the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson in the World Series this year.
  12. He was a dick on the ice, loved to stir it up but everyone loved him when he played for the Hawks since he was a hometown boy and was a great American born player to boot. The NHL is different now. You really can't instigate too much anymore.
  13. I should've remembered that because the only bobblehead I have is Chelly in a Red Wings Uni holding the Cup. 2002 Limited Edition Handcrafted by Forever Collectibles #3969 of 10,024. It's heavy for a bobblehead. Might be ceramic.
  14. It Takes A Team . Rodon, Marshall, Ruiz, Crochet, Hendriks. Vaughn, Abreu, Mercedes, Grandal, Eaton, Leury, Mr. Anderson ! Special thanks to TLR for not bunting.
  15. Born in Evergreen Park . HOF type NHL defenseman played 25 yrs. in the NHL with the Blackhawks , Canadiens maybe a few other teams at the end of his career . Big Sox fan.
  16. Chris Chelios was there all game so are you talking about him or some interview ? I can't watch post game here in Cali.
  17. Hendriks is a thoroughbred and a plow horse at the same time. He is fast and a workhorse. Got to keep Crochet's innings down because we want him still around for the playoffs. There's no guarantee of course but I think the Sox handling so far of Crochet and Kopech has been good. It just puts a lot of pressure on the other guys like Ruiz and Marshall who came through tonight. But the Sox definitely need 1 if not 2 more decent relievers. I'll take 1 if he's a good one.
  18. Crochet should be pitching only 1 inning. I like him getting out of games unhurt.
  19. Thank you for the interpretation ! Now I get it... you just can't stop !
  20. Nice inning by Crochet. Did anyone make a bold prediction that Rodon would be throwing a faster fast ball than Crochet this year ??
  21. Nick Madrigal has three straight multi-hit games (.545, 6-11) and is batting .373.425/.582 (25-67) over his last 18. Taken from the game thread tweet with the starting lineup.
  22. Garcia has played the majority of his games in CF this year and is among the leaders in Outs against average as is Phillips and Mullins this year. In all of this defensive awards are a non consideration . Of course OAA is dependent a lot on playing time because it's accumulative but we could also throw Bellinger into the mix as well. Even with lack of playing time from 2019 to now Hamilton is still 10th in OAA in that time period.
  23. But the point is when you have 3 relievers with ERA's in the 6+ category you have to decide by the trade deadline if you need BP help for the off season and to that I'd have to say definitely yes.
