  1. Maybe not, he could take Hamilton's spot eventually. He's a better hitter anyway. May not be the fielder or runner Hamilton is but not many are . Goodwin gave the Angels some quality play the last couple of years, close to .800 OPS ina bit over 500 ABs. He may pleasantly surprise some for a quick pick up on the fly.
  2. Don't Cease ! Get it ! Get it ! What an amazing performance pitching and hitting ! Abreu, Moncada, Anderson, Madrigal and Cease again ! Don't stop now boys !
  3. Sorry I was not clear. Spent as in done more to get more like make a trade for a pitcher who was younger or had a longer contract with a higher salary. Lots of things they could ve done besides what they did. I'm sure they tried but that's not what happened. They took the least expensive route .
  4. Sox did need immediate help and he was the only guy who could play CF immediately besides Luis Gonzalez I suppose.
  5. Oh I understand all that Ron but trolling used to be highly discouraged here now its running rampant. I make plenty of joking posts and get my fair share of laughs on them but getting laughed AT just is very mean spirited. I don't like mean people. I feel bad for guys like Greg or Caulfield for the abuse they some times take but to their credit they hang in there. Thank you for your sincere response !
  6. All it costs is money ? You do know who our owner is don't you ? We got a starting pitcher for a year with an $8M salary for a MLB/pitching prospect with 6 yrs of eligibility when the SOx could've just spent money for one. I love having Lynn but it was a shortsighted but acceptable move given that he could be a valuable piece for the season and the playoffs. It now looks worse if the team doesn't make the playoffs. Someone said he heard the Sox will have money to spend at the trade deadline but counting on it now and adding a percentage of Heyward's salary for another 2 years after 2021 is way beyond what JR would do. The Sox added $8M for 1 yr. of Lynn and traded a decent prospect and $8M for a starting RF for 1 yr. of Eaton. JR is going to rake in as much money as he can from the paying customers this year before he MIGHT decide to add in July at the trade deadline . I see no hope whatsoever of him making a substantial multi year commitment now or at the trade deadline considering the injuries to Eloy and Robert.
  7. What do you think is more likely making, a trade for Heyward thus adding to payroll and giving up prospect(s) or just giving up prospect(s) and finding a cheap option in the 25- 30yr . olds out there either on the 25 or 40 of some non contending type clubs ? Possible names to be considered, Tapia, Hilliard, Hampson (Colorado) Tim Lacastro (Az), Austin Hays (O's) Marisnick (Cubs) Naquin (Reds). Not a lot out there for CF if I eliminate guys like Chris Taylor and Tyler O'Neill as being too valuable to their current teams. I should probably eliminate Austin Hays too. Plug the hole maybe with a lesser player and see how the Sox hold up and then maybe JR loosens up the purse strings later if the Sox can hang in there. Probably end up with someone like Roman Quinn.
  8. I brought this up a month ago but the" he is what we thought he is " and BABIP naysayers shot me down. That's OK but we've been waiting already on Engels return for a month. What's he had 2 or 3 setbacks already with his hamstring injury and he's back to square one and out another 3+ weeks now ? How the heck does that even happen ? He got hurt March 21st and was expected to miss a couple of weeks and now we're looking at around June 1st for his return ?
  9. I'm trying to understand your point of view. It's ok to laugh at someone and give them a laugh emoji if you think they deserve it. However you also think you can defend someone who you think got a laugh emoji unnecessarily. But the person who got the laugh emoji can't defend himself because it's annoying ? Very strange indeed.
  10. I don't think it's fat fingers . Go look at any thread especially the recent ones regarding what the Sox should do after the Robert injury. Some think the season is over, some want a trade , some want to wait, all legitimate opinions, yet just about every kind of post there are laugh emoji's after them. Something to be upset about ? Maybe, perhaps not. But there does seem to be a preponderance of people with fat fingers or trolling responses for people they happen to disagree with from other opinions.
  11. Well I just got laughed at for my response to you so I guess depending on who is judging who deserves it then any post can be laughed at. Maybe someone thought you deserved it.
  12. I guess it's understandable when I see Luery as much as I see the correct Leury . Lee ury, not Lou erie ,if phonetically spelling it helps . Scrubs names can be misspelled. Not as acceptable with starters like Robert ?
  13. There's a lot that going around. Unfortunately the laugh emoji is being used to laugh at people instead using it for laughing at a comedic post.
  14. They know but we don't that's what I am saying . You yourself said that if its the middle group of muscles it could be much worse isn't that correct ?
  15. Right ? I grew up in Chicago moved to California when I was 22 but never changed my allegiance to the Sox, Blackhawks, Bears and Bulls. And to the Republic for which it stands...
  16. Oh sorry Dr. Ray maybe you have not heard that it is very possible that this injury affects his speed and that full details of the injury are unknown at this point. There were several pages of questions and answers from ptatc. However I do appreciate the optimism but definitive statements cannot be made at this juncture.
  17. It's not even those things. The prognosis could be much worse depending on what we hear in the next few days. It may turn out he has career altering surgery that will affect his speed for the duration of his career.
  18. That's what I said but no one liked my trading Eloy while he was still injured idea lol. So I downgraded it to trying to get Tapia or Hilliard from the Rockies without using Eloy. Not bold but would cost less than Bryant (Cubs) or Peralta from Az.
  19. It started last year. Now you are just seeing the reasons why I wanted to maximize last year. COVID, injuries , LaRussa. Jerry, upcoming CBA and who knows what else to come this season.
