Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
No he's just not in love with Madrigal so pokes fun at his appearance every so often. Fathoms a good guy as you probably know.

Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
The answer is probably yes . But it should be noted that Colas' status hasn't been cleared up and MLB hasn't declared him a Free Agent so far. So as of now he is unsignable. It's pretty hard to gauge how the industry feels . Cespedes is the better known quantity with his appearance in the WBC and has loud tools but hasn't got much field action lately. Colas played in the minors in Japan so at least he's been on the field and got that Cuban Ohtani label put on him because he can pitch a little bit but didn't do it in Japan.

Tony LaRussa to plead guilty to lesser charge
Oh good I can still comment on you self righteousness without expecting self righteous comments back. Thank you. Talk about a troll.. pot calling the kettle black. And yes I can easily admit that I don't know everything about baseball economics or most things for that matter because I am not as arrogant and egotistical as you. I am not defending LaRussa as much as I am questioning you. This ceaseless, sanctimonious charade to parade your righteous indignation is pathetic.

LOL ,no, I was commenting on Fathom taking shots at Madrigals height good-naturedly.

Tony LaRussa to plead guilty to lesser charge
Or if the Sox make it to the World Series maybe 99% of the time they will be talking about baseball.

Tony LaRussa to plead guilty to lesser charge
Are you making another point through hyberbole again or do you actually mean what you say? I am so dimwitted I get confused easily when people are trying to change society positively through constantly berating a guy on a sports message board when you've already been doing it for months. I hope your crusade has spurned others in this tiny community to seek to right this grave injustice through the use of music videos like you. Is it just me or does" retired at 50 living prudently" sound like " I am living alone in my mother's basement", to anyone else ?

You don't think the youngsters have a lot to learn ?

Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
Ok I'll say it. Imagine the fan building in the DR had the Sox kept F. Tatis, Jr. Oh well more work to do for that in the DR.

Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
YoCes is only an inch taller if indeed Madrigal is 5'8". I was taller than both in probably 7th grade.

No tweet from the Cespedes Family Barbecue yet ?

Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
Awesome get. It's hard to believe Colas would delay his signing for another year but would have to know how many teams have anything close to $500k+ left. If the Sox make another trade I'm expecting one or more our Adolfo, Rutherford, Gonzalez trio along with Sheets, Collins and Mercedes to be moved.

Since 1990 who is the Sox 2nd best player?
Magglio Ordonez had some great years with the Sox. He got injured, got mad at Kenny Williams for thinking he was damaged goods . Detroit signed him for 2005 and beyond. Obviously the Sox won the World Series and his replacement in RF was a key cog so the Sox made the right move not resigning him. His 8 year career with the Sox included 4 AS games, finished 5th in ROY, 2 Silver Slugger Awards and got MVP votes in 3 of his years. After a partial 2005 with the Tigers , in 2006 he became an All -Star again and got more MVP votes. In 2007 at age 33 he had the best year of his career became an All-Star for the 6th and final time and finished 2nd in MVP voting. He was astounding that year. Anyone who isn't aware of it should look at his stats from 2007. He had 54 doubles. batted .363 ,.434 OBP 1.029 OPS ,169 wRC+ and 8.0 fWAR. His best fWAR year with the Sox was 5.5 in 1999 when he actually played a good RF but after that because of his knee he got dinged pretty bad for his defense. In 2007 8.0 fWAR year he played solid defense but it was the last time he wasn't a negative value. I should also point out that Maggs was named in Jose Canseco's book as a steroid user. But there were some fun times at the old ballpark listening to O Wee O Magglio !

I must not be most people. Sure it can happen but not because of TLR. There would have to be a boatload of injuries so technically ,yes, that could happen any year. Do you believe so little in the talent of the players that TLR can cause a 30 game shift from last year ? It must be nice casting stones from your ivory tower while no one can cast stones at the mistakes you have made in your life as an unknown non public figure. You are way over the top.

Will you forgive JR/Hahn
I'm not angry. The Sox being owned by a guy who won't pay top dollar for pitching talent for extended years is probably the right fiscal decision. The problem is we're supposed to be winning a World Series in the next 5 years or so. I just want one so the rebuild was worth it. He can't operate the same old way if winning the championship is truly a priority. This is nothing new for Reinsdorf or any other White Sox owner in their history so being angry is idiotic. There's nothing to forgive. He's the chairman and can do as he pleases. The fact that Sox are still in Chicago is nice and we can bemoan our fate as Sox fans all we want ( and I often do ), but I do it because I want more. It doesn't anger me that I don't get what I want. That's life. I put in no work to achieve my wants as a fan so I can't feel like I've been stiffed.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
How come there is only one scenario that makes the trade justifiable ? There are variables to performance for both Lynn and Dunning.

I think by the reactions of the board it seems pretty equal for and against the trade which tells me it did what trades are supposed to do. Equal value for equal value. There's no such thing as a perfect trade. Some will like it and some won't. They needed a guy who showed he can be a Top 10 type pitcher in the AL and that's what they got for a year because that's seemed to be the only way to get that kind of pitcher and not give up a lot of prospects and not add a lot to the payroll. I don't hope you are wrong. I hope Lynn lives up to his billing and Dunning fulfills his potential. But most of all I hope Lynn can get us deep into the playoffs while we watch Kopech and others accumulate the innings they need to fulfill their potential under the guidance of Katz.

Do the sox even have another need?
Suzuki turned 37 in October, Avila will be 34 in January . Why would you wonder if Suzuki is willing to reduce his playing time at his age ? I know we all have our favorites but we have to consider the minor role and role in the lineup and defensively for a back up catcher. While I know that BA of Avila's looks ugly but he gets on base at a better clip than Suzuki and hitting last that's pretty much all they want a guy to do down there. Collins is also good for a walk and tons of power. Collins also has a very good arm Suzuki has a noodle. We're splitting hairs here and Collins is likely the least expensive for a minor role . It's just the backup catcher by stereotype is usually a defensive guy who you would hope can at least get on base at a decent clip. Keep on rooting for Suzuki, I'll just hope the Sox actually try to get some value from Collins in a trade or by actually using him . One last thing in 10 less games played and less than half the AB's Suzuki had, Avila still had the higher fWar, .2 to 0, which basically shows his ability to walk and defense was worth more in 2020. 2019 Avila played 63 games, 201 Plate appearances to Suzuki's 85 games and 309 PA's. Suzuki's fWar .6 , Avila 1.3 .

Better make sure you know how long the season is before you make that bet

2021 Plan for Kopech and Crochet
Very much so a comundrum. They could give the minor league coaches instructions not to warm him up unless they plan on bringing him in regardless of the game situation thereby reducing the stress. If you warm up with the intention of coming into the game the warm up on the mound is more like a continuation of the warmup in the pen rather then going through the up and dowm nature that relievers typically go through. Don't bring him in with men on base , just have him start innings.

2021 Plan for Kopech and Crochet
No thats not what I'm asking. Is he throwing with any more effort in the minors than the majors ? I don't think you can quantity that MLB is any more or less stressful to his arm than any kind of pitching he does. If he starts he may get 5 or 6 days between starts but pitch more innings. If he relieves he throws less pitches and less innings. If it is some kind of combination of both to get to 60 or 100 innings I'd have to go with 100 innings no matter where it is or in what role is more stressful
