  1. The Cleveland Rocks ? Too confusing with the Rox. I'm betting against a tie in with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
  2. And that's a legit concern. Every single RF option had the ever present "red flags" be it horrible defense ,injury concerns ,present cost, long term cost, etc. Springer is the one and only one we would be truly shocked if he sucked. And plenty here think, myself included, that pitching was the biggest need by a long shot so I still expect more pitching to gain that edge and let the young guys get prepared for that future edge.
  3. Not what I wanted to happen but sort of knew it would. I just wanted to know 1 thing. And you answered it hell yes. Thank you.
  4. I am not pro Eaton despite the question I asked. I was also not pro Joc and thought the actual best fit was JBJ ( outside of Springer )because he played pretty good defense and can play CF and having 3 CF guys is a good thing for late inning defense. I don't trust that his batting woes were solved last year but the fact he did better than usual isn't a bad sign. But Joc for his hitting against RHP would have been better. Just not real sure if the Sox wanted to go multiple years on him if that's what he requires. Same applies to Bradley.
  5. Someone is going to be peeved.
  6. There you finally said it. That's all I wanted.
  7. Don't get sucked into rehashing the same stuff that was in the main Eaton thread. This is just how he avoided the simple question I asked. If this thread devolves into that he wins.
  8. Poor Ray Ray . No one understands him. I don't you don't. He tries and tries to make people see things his way and we just don't understand. We are all just nincompoops .
  9. How can I misphrase my own question ? You can copy and paste our whole conversation here if you like. I never put words in your mouth I didn't even mention you by name.
  10. But my question didn't have anything to do with any other player. If you fill RF with that kind of production for the amount of money they signed him isn't that a good value signing ? You said you'd be happy with it so I'm good with it . Just trying to take everything else out of the equation.
  11. Well I wasn't getting anywhere with you and you weren't getting anywhere with me. So I took it to the masses. You couldn't answer the simple question .That kind of year didn't hurt the Nationals in 2019. Does it really matter if people disagree with you so much that you have to come here and still not answer the question but tell us all how bad he is ?
  12. Thank you brother A simple answer to a simple question.
  13. In 2019 most of his stats wwere even production wise against lefties and righties but he hit 13 HR's against righties and 2 against lefties but his OPS was pretty much the same against both.
  14. Then just answer if you'd be happy with it.
  15. I'm having a discussion with another member of the board in the main Eaton thread and posed this question. If Adam Eaton put up the exact same stats as he did in 2019 would you be happy with that production ? I say ,most if not all Sox fans and the White Sox would be thrilled with that. He says he wouldn't be and keeps dancing around the question I am posing to you all. This has nothing to do with how good or bad you think the trade is . His 2019 went like this : 151 games played .279 BA , .365 OBP , .428 SLG. , 9.9 BB%, 15 stolen bases,107wRC+. He also won the World Series and was a hitting star in the World Series. 2.3 fWar 1.5bWar If he had that kind of season it would be tremendous for the Sox. Hell they wouldn't even have to keep him since that might be pushing their luck . Am i as crazy as the other guy thinks I am or is he the crazy one ?
  16. And you continue to dance. I'm not so sure why it's difficult for you to understand that I asked you a simple question that requires a yes or no answer. I don't have to understand all the avoidance thrown at me to try to cloud the issue. Adam Eaton signed and if the Sox got 2019 out of him we'd all be thrilled including you. LOL ok.
  17. You're a pretty good dancer. The Sox would love that type of year from Eaton because that 1.5 bWar is exactly what they want. Stay on the field , be grindy with a bit of pop, get on base at a good clip, run the bases well and turn the lineup over. We aren't talking about small outcome driven samples or performing outside expectations. The question was would you take a 2019 type year from Eaton and you've been dancing around it throwing all kinds of statistical jargon to avoid the question. I'm talking baseball and you're talking about , well ,nothing that pertained to the original question.
  18. Are you comparing Lance Lynn to James Shields or Samardzija ? Both were attempts at build ups and the Shields trade fits your description of "his last attempt at a build-up ( that was a disaster ). " The one year rent is more like Samardzija. Both were attempts to build up and both were disasters. Please clarify.
  19. Wait so you just said you will pass on that kind of year Eaton had , World Series Champ and hitting star of the same World Series ? Passing on 1.5bWar wasn't my point.
  20. Sure , Bradley could take Cordero's spot on the roster. 1 year $4M. Want to play on a team with a good chance to win the World Series or do you want the next guy we sign for $4M in a good market for relievers to get your ring ?
  21. You know what hurts a lot more than groundballs that find holes ? Fly balls that go over the fence .
  22. I think the Sox and the fan base would be thrilled if he put up the same season as 2019. If he can have that .365 OBP he'll be batting 2nd. Around 15 HR's , 15 SB, 151 games and a great World Series. Yes please give me all of that.
  23. Adam Eaton 2019 World Series Stats: 7 Games, 32 Plate Appearances, 25 AB , 5 runs, 8 hits, 0 doubles/ triples, 2 HR , 6 RBI. 1 Stolen base, 4 Walks , 2 K's , 1HBP, 2 sacrifice hits. That's pretty well rounded for a small sample size. A little bit of everything. .320/ .433/ .560/ .993
