  1. Nice way to get out of a jam but unless the Sox continue to score this might be like the last game with the Angels.
  2. I don't know if it's xwOBA or what but I heard it on MLB network that he was at the top in "clutch".
  3. Hold that thought Duirham kicking the crap out of Vieirga but still 4 runs down,
  4. You should probably look up his clutch numbers. Sorry forget what it's called. I 'm pretty sure he is among the best if not the best in the NL (Harper)
  5. Ok or Zavala who pinch hit for Collins when they brought in a lefty and he hit a HR ! So Yermin , Robert Moncada and Zavala all with HR's.
  6. Well we got 1 from Yermin and Robert so that means Collins will hit one too now ?
  7. I'm just thinking it'll be very hard to expect the Sox to sign 4 or 5 quality FA's . I could pick 5 I want but to fit them into the proper positions and into payroll limits ,whatever they end up being, probably is expecting too much especially if I start the list with Rendon and one of the top 3 starting pitchers and a few of them have to be LH .
  8. Corey Dickerson or Scooter Gennett might be the best the Sox do in that regard. But you know I love Rendon so RF isn't as important to me.
  9. Which makes it our 4th or 5th priority if we need 2 starting pitchers and another quality RP or 2
  10. You might be right but it would be a lot better spin than the Yonder Alonso/Jon Jay spin.
  11. I still like Scooter Gennett on next years team in some capacity. Starter or high quality depth
  12. Close enough . The 1st couple years you should get more than 3.5 so it'll probably balance out in the end. 17.5 is doable . https://blogs.fangraphs.com/anthony-rendon-keeps-getting-better/ Unfortunately he might want a 6 or 7 year contract but for his production level he still could be worth it. Superstars you have to expect to give that kind of contract but it is less crippling while also being riskier because of age but as the fangraphs article discusses he's found a way to get even better.
  13. Have you located the perfect player yet ? Everybody's favorite catcher Grandal got picked off yesterday with a very short 3 step lead because he took a short nap on the bases. He also isn't great at defense .He's a very streaky hitter. McCann has twice as much bWAR as Grandal this year. Grandal has much better power and is LH and those both fill needs but I hope no one is looking to ditch McCann in favor of Grandal. As much of a good catching tandem they would be I'm not sure Grandal is a fit unless Abreu is gone and Grandal and Collins spend time at 1st base. I have no idea if that even upgrades the 1st base defense. Leury is good at what he does but shouldn't be a full time starter. Very nice depth piece though.
  14. Not once did I see you mention winning a championship. Who gives a flying fig if we can be above .500 for a sustained period ? The Sox haven't done a damn thing to raise expectations that they can sustain success by relying on minor league talent. They can't draft it , they can't develop it. they can't recognize it and they give away int'l pool money when they should be spending it. Do you really believe that load of crap you just wrote ?
  15. 2 out 4 run rally's are awesome. Walk single double HR.
  16. If I was as crabbyas you I'd be getting old man yells at cloud gifs or memes . Supposedly you enjoy something about baseball.
  17. The guy has all kinds of power . I did say upside, doesn't take much to go from 25 to 40 if you find your swing. Look at Yelich. I swear some of you guys couldn't find your nose in the dark. I don't even understand why this needs explaining.
  18. True just stating it's not really comparable to modern stats.
  19. Was that the Dash game ? Did you find out what happened ?
  20. I think if they let that top clip go a little longer Walton went on to say something like "White Sox and Angels on a diamond in a park " while looking directly into the camera and looking very serene. Then I realized that was his mini version of the old classic George Carlin bit about the differences between the baseball and football. From the Carlin bit: Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park! Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.
