  1. To be frank, I don't think how anyone here will think he will age is significant. Usually posts expressing how they think someone will age is just used as a personal bias either for or against that player. No one really knows one way or the other how a player will age especially if they are suspected of being chemically enhanced and even if they are not and age well there is always suspicion .
  2. Part of what's wrong with that is the Red Sox might contend next year or even trade him this off season and he will be very costly. Eevn if he is still available at the deadline don't fool yourself into thinking he won't cost all that much. He would require an A and a B prospect at the minimum. I'm not as keen on spending decent money on DH types. Since it seems apparent the Sox plan of keeping Abreu then they just have to man up and tell him he's a DH. Sign Moustaskas to play 1st and he can fill in at 3rd and 2nd occasionally or with injuries until or if Vaughn pans out,
  3. Hey we agree on something.
  4. I understand the non tender but they easily could ve resigned him to the type of contract TB eventually offered him. I'm pretty sure Avi was begging the Sox to keep him but he was getting too expensive for a guy who got injured too much.
  5. It won't be Avi. Sox would be admitting they made a mistake not resigning him after the non-tender if they signed him. What an utter disaster the whole Jay and Alonso signings became.
  6. We meaning not me :). Balta can attest to that. I have wanted him for the seasons the Brewers had him. I'd also be good checking into what the royals would want for Whit Merrifield for RF . I know he isn't LH but he's one of those versatile guys , a very good base runner and just a smart , good ballplayer.
  7. Wait, actually, it's the 1st time they have ever homered in the same game. Can you believe that ? Jimenez hit a Grand Salami in the 1st inning while Moncada capped a 3 hit night with a 2 run shot in the 7th. JImenez' slam was an oppo taco while Moncada's was a 452 ft. BOMB to CF. The mighty Adam Engel also hit an opposite field HR. Ivan Nova pitched competently giving up 3 runs in 5.2 innings. All 3 runs were solo HR's . He gave up 0 walks and K'd 5. Final Score White Sox 7 KC Royals 3 Jimenez leads all American League Rookie in HR's with 25 although Yordan Alvarez of the Astro's is right on his tail with 24 .
  8. This story is a few days old now. He was the youngest son of Sox special pitching consultant Dave Duncan. The more I think about this the more I think Dave Duncan was hired to have a title and paycheck while his son was battling cancer. I could be wrong of course. I'm sure he got the position based on merit and has been doing a fine job but also had the freedom to be with his son when he wished. If that's the case I am not knocking it. Reinsdorf may not be a great owner but he has his good qualities. https://www.foxsports.com/midwest/video/1599608387694 RIP Chris and condolences to all who knew and loved him. If a mod doesn't think this belongs here. Feel free to move it.
  9. There was one play where on a routine grounder he took too long to throw. Might've had a problem getting a grip on the ball and batter was called safe at first. Sox reviewed it and the call was overturned. Everything else couldn't tell you since I only see highlights.
  10. I beat you but because of me now your thread is bigger
  11. I have to agree with you. ARe you supposed to make a title intentionally boring so it's not click worthy. Calling something clickbait on here is comical. I read most threads regardless of the title . Nothing here is clickbait. Our titles are not generating the thread starter any revenue.
  12. Danny Mendick went 2/5 playing SS and also hit his 1st career ML HR to power the Sox to a 5-1 win over the Angels. Timmy got the day off . Cease started, but due to a high number of pitches, because of 5 walks, he only lasted 3.1 innings . He did K 4 and got out of a couple of big jams.
  13. Most have already played themselves off the roster. How much bad do you have to see ?
  14. I kinda figured it was nearly caught or close to being trapped. Thanks for responding.
  15. At this point any win is a good win. I mean Cease didn't go 5 but also only gave up the 1 run, Mendick 1st career HR and another hit and Eloy a double, Did Eloy hit a double then not advance to 3rd on theMcCann single to right ? How does that happen ?
  16. How many heart attacks if Palka hits one out ?
  17. Check out how they fared in FA last offseason . Every one of the players has a negative WAR. They make Hahn look almost competent.
