Damn I was hoping Renteria didn't stick AVi back in the 2 hole. He sucked there. He hasn't hit anywhere but 2nd all season.

Should see Avi back in the lineup for at least one of the games. Probably won't make him play 2.

Are we sure he is ready ? I'd hate to see him brought up too early. It may hurt his development .

Also might interest you to know that Ken Berry who was a White Sox CF and my favorite player as a very young man has a bit part in EMO . His IMDb profile says "heckler" but I can't remember if that is accurate. Guess I might have to rewatch it since I have it in my DVD library.

Well. maybe it was asking for favorite things that people can recall that led to this thread being a dud . I can't remember any one thing but I sure do like the old guy. For a team lacking exposure on a national level he brought a lot of that even if it wasn't always positive. Overall I think it was a positive with his colorful style and unabashed homerism. I'll miss him. He is a legend.

Yea me too. Either show what you got where you are or stay there until you prove you belong at a higher level. No one can say for sure the reason that he under performing. Personally I just think it's because he has a lot to learn. I think he comes out of his funk fairly soon . Once he proves he is ready by commanding some of his pitches he'll be here. Just string some very solid starts together, like 4 out of 5 , and he'll be here at a still very young age.

So I take it from this comment and the ones on Madgrigal that you are not very fond of small players Can' I take a guess that you are over 6' tall ? Just kidding around.

So was I but I'd have to go with Tilson now. Engel's had so many chances and he hasn't got the job done. Tilson is probably just as fast, makes more contact (?), probably steals bases equally well ,and probably equal in the OF , not sure how good his arm is but Engel's is mediocre at best. Enegel has more power I suppose but hasn't shown it at all.

He gets himself out being way too eager to drive in runs, Have to look middle of the plate there and he swung at the 2nd pitch outside off the plate. It's all about approach in those situations and knowing you are the man and being patient enough to know they would rather not face you and will more than likely pitch you that way.

Guess we are assuming Dave actually knows or made some pretty safe guesses. Anyone think there will be a few more to Birmingham and Charlotte ? Major props to Caulfield for being spot on about when the promotions would happen despite others being soooo sure he was wrong. Makes tons of sense. He's earned some time back in the bigs. It is very cool. Wondering how much longer Dunning will be in AA. He's had 10 starts there and just cruising along. Very good numbers all around and hasn't allowed a HR .Would love to see Dunning with Kopech . Maybe some of Dane Dunning command can rub off on MK. On to Kannapolis !

While I agree that the biggest obstacle to a successful rebuild could be upper management I disagree wholeheartedly on rushing prospects is a main reason for failure. I think when there is failure people want reasons and the easiest one to pick is that they were rushed. You speak as if Rodon's , Fulmer's and Moncada's problems are the product of being rushed. How can you be so sure that is the reason ? There could be multiple reasons when you talk about how human beings perform at the highest level of competition in their profession. The main one being they just can't cut it talent wise and every effort to get them to max their talent just didn't work . People just develop differently and applying one reason to those who you deem as being rushed is rather asinine. Plenty of young men are bought up very young with great track record in the minors . Some succeed some fail. Some with not so great track records in the minors also come up. Some succeed some fail. Some take years to have the light switch go on. They all process information differently or take time to find the right combination of adjustments or advice to max their talent. Some never find the right combination. Being rushed is just a lame way of trying apply a logical answer in your head to explain why things didnt work when in reality no one can understand why things didn't work. The human mind and body in relationship to peak performance is much too complicated for anyone to understand why anyone fails or succeeds.

So when are we getting the story on how it went ? I have to live vicariously through you guys.

Every question , every possible pitcher or position player we have or think is a staple for years to come will drastically change in a year and then in another year and also when the Sox sign whoever they manage to sign from the list of FA's. Plus I have been preaching forever to anyone who thinks the whole staff is coming from the prospects and who thinks when said prospects fail or get injured we are doomed, that the number of changes still to come will be mind boggling. Anyone trying to project much of anything seems to be doing it just because the ML team is bad and the only thing to talk about is the prospects. I will just sit back and relax and try to pretend that the Sox rebuild will be as successful as the Astros and Cubs.
