  1. In my eyes Collins is like Moncada in that he looks at a lot of pitches and K's a lot only without doing as well in the minors because his hit tool isn't on par with Moncada's. The goal for both is cutting down on the K's and putting balls in play. I'm in wait and see mode on both and hope for the best. But that's how I feel on most prospects. Just crossing my fingers that there aren't many busts among them and that some become above average players in the show.
  2. Very fun to think about. Anyone in front of Elot is going to see better pitches and having a guy with a good eye who takes walks will surely be a good thing . The more men on base for Eloy the better. Just too bad he's a catcher. Rather not have someone in front of Eloy who is a slow runner. Next year I like Moncada in front of Eloy . Moncada 3rd. Eloy 4th. ABreu 5th * *additions to the roster TBD
  3. I only knew it because it was right there in your post. 19: club option at Major League mininum salary,
  4. Hey I admitted I wasn't sure. And its still a bad idea grasshopper, because for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. 1) While you showcase Eloy he may not do well in a short sample size. 2) You give more ammo to his agents . 3) If Eloy isn't upset now and understands everything surely the move you proposed further risks upsetting him. I'd rather he be focused on baseball when he is called up. 4) So you want to showcase Eloy but you are also showcasing how unfairly the front office treats our players to the superstars free agents looking for a team . Great plan. It's you who don't get it man .
  5. I'm under the impression that once you bring him up there's no turning back . You cannot reset the clock. And even if what you say is true. It's still a bad bad bad idea If I am wrong then when bring him back up after the super 2 deadline ? If i didn't get it that's on you for posting drunk. You said stash them for however many games. How am I supposed to get what that means ? You just had to start a new thread for this bs when there's already 2 threads on Eloy you could've posted it. You just didn't want to be ignored. I still don' think you can reset the clock but we'll find out when someone else who knows more than I do about it comments. If you find one person who agrees with this idea I'll be shocked.
  6. Why sweeten anything ? He's signed for the minimum next year should they decide not to put him out to pasture. His arm is spaghetti .
  7. Also you were the one who made a big stink about burning Hamiltons extra year of service time and now you want to burn Eloy's too ? At least show a little consistency. Eloy's extra year is way more important then Hamilton's.
  8. 4 of 7 against the Yanks and Bosox . Not too shabby !
  9. OK then he's an example of getting his cake and eating it too . Just as I said get the money and win. How does that help your argument ?
  10. Not even sure why all these names are listed. Kershaw has always been a Dodger and the Dodgers almost always contend. Verlander only accepted a trade to Houston so he could try to win one. And he played with some good Tiger teams. Texas was probably a contender when Beltre signed with them. That,s just from my recollection of looking at those names. Not going to do a bunch of research on the other ones . Maurers always been a Twin so that's for reasons other than money too. Thome wanted to win a World Series badly. Had shots with Cleveland , had a shot with us. Can we just agree to disagree ? To some players its all about the money to some it isn't just have to see.
  11. Shields threw 6 scoreless. Frare's debut went flawlessly with 2 K's. Minaya and Santiago finish off the shut out ! Timmy 3 hits and a HR . Palka HR. Moncada 2 hits. Everyone who started got at least one hit . 15 in total. Chicago Strong ! 8-0 white Sox win, Boo yaa !
  12. Kimbrel will be expensive. Robertson probably not so bad . Haven't looked at other FA RP's. But I think one more reliable arm at least . Not sure how ready any of the other guys are you mentioned while Burdi, Frare , Burr, Hamilton all rookies should go through huge growing pains. A veteran RP to show them the ropes is good.
  13. I wanted to give u the haha award but I think you are serious so I'd rather not laugh at you.
  14. Very nice bounce back from that 18K disaster yesterday
  15. Or we pay for Kimbrel or someone else ,Keep Shield eww, ( or pay for another SP) ,let Covey be the long man Vieira eh not that likely. Robertson's a FA right ? Bummer still could be used too.
  16. Sorry brother thats all I got.
  17. Hip injury it tells you that on gameday
  18. Betts, Trout. Betts already has it Trout needs 9 more doubles surpringly and 9 more SB's .
  19. Looks like the Red Sox have conceded. Lots of defensive replacements . Bogaerts, Nunez, Moreland and Betts out.
  20. Just swap out Burdi for Danish next year and it looks even better.
  21. Very nice Frare ! 1 2 3 2 K's 10 pitches.
