  1. Wow 3 whole Soxtalk members paying attention to the game. Guess Pelfrey pitching means more than the current 4 game win streak .
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) And Davidson, too. Not to mention Gonzo, Holland and Kanhle. Swarzak and Robertson.
  3. Both HR's were bombs and could tell they were gone on contact but Avi's out distanced Frazier's by 30 feet ( just guessing). Made that special sound off the bat.
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) Sure would be nice to have a healthy Rodon, sad panda. And a healthy Shields, Petricka and Putnam.
  5. The Feathered Serpent is back ! All the Garcia's ! That Avi HR was a BOMB ' Leury's was a laser. Still no blown saves. BP was killer once again.
  6. Ho hum another 10 run game from the offensive juggernauts that are the 2017 Chicago White Sox. Would be nice if my AAP Leury Garcia keeps up the good hitting. According to this article on whitesox.com http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/226...against-royals/ Leury has changed his approach and garnered some baseball smarts on making contact and situational hitting.
  7. Sox win 12-1. Miguel Gonzales 8 innings of 2 hit ball. Matt Davidson 3/4, 4 RBI , triple short of the cycle. And his single was a rocket high off the left field padding. Tim Anderson with 3 hits. Swarzak an inning or perfect relief and still carrying the 0 ERA Leury Garcia 3 hits
  8. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) Honestlly, the kind of guy that A is, wouldn't surprise me if that wasn't even on his back burner. He's such a team player. Just missed that Q on the keyboard
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) He's seriously shortened up his swing, looks like he can actually turn on a fastball now. He's the new Carlos Quentin. .As the Beach Boys sang, wouldn't it be nice ?
  10. I want to say hooray for the win today. There won't be many and the loses will outnumber the W's , so forgive me if I am troubling you. Holland Sox offense for the non shut out The bullpen
  11. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 04:56 PM) Saw him in the dugout today. He usually only plays against left handed starters. In an article on the Sox website here is a quote from Renteria an it's a strange one. "It's not so much the matchup," Renteria said. "We have other guys. We want to go ahead and give them the opportunity to face who they are facing today. Matty has shown he can hit anybody. It has nothing to do with it. It has more to do with putting the guys we have right now in a particular situation to experience this particular club." How's that for talking out of your ass because maybe you are just a good soldier following orders.
  12. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 03:11 PM) Except the guy who called it, I would imagine. Hey it's always great to be right but remember you or whoever you're talking about should maybe, probably, possibly wait for a slightly bigger sample size before you strut your stuff. Carry on .
  13. The Sox probably reached the season high point with that 7-6 record. It is all down hill from here.
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 08:11 AM) People undervalue relievers until their team needs one. Save percent this April is down 9% from last year dropping from 69% to 60 % all across baseball. There has been around 70 blown saves in MLB so far and the White Sox have none. Sox relievers through 14 games 1.41 ERA , 54 K's in 44.2 innings. So odd to have a contending team bullpen while having a rebuilding team offense. It will be interesting how the offense performs once Frazier gets healthy and Abreu and Melky start to hit better. Or if Delmonica or Hayes replace Asche. May should be sent back down soon if he isn't going to be the starter now.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 12:03 PM) Chuck Garfien‏Verified account @ChuckGarfien 3h3 hours ago How about this Avisail Garcia slash line with runners in scoring position so far---.545/.615/1.273. #WhiteSox Last year when people would ask about anything Avi did right I made sure to point out he was one of the best Sox hitters with RISP. If he took that approach and applied it to all his AB's he may have found something.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) You have to feel sorry for Jacob. Appears to be over matched, but we have nobody in the farm system, who can step in for the CF job. Leury hasn't done bad, but I can't see him as the everyday starting CF'er. Ity will be a major celebration when that first hit comes for Jacob. In the meantime you have to be patient until you can't be anymore. It's not like we don't have several dark holes in the line up right now so it's just not May's fault If the Sox were willing to try May they could just as easily try Engel. At least the defense will still be good. Leury has ran down some fly balls but has misplayed 2 I've seen that were rolling or bouncing.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) To be honest, I can't see the Sox shelling out that much (or close to it) for a 19-year old. To get Moncada , Kopech, Basabe and Diaz the Sox gave up Chris Sale who had basically 3 years ( 1 and 2 option years ) left on his contract totaling $38M. I will guess if the bidding goes beyond $18M the Sox are out.
  18. He had one workout with Houston perhaps Robert liked them. It would behoove him however to listen to all offers . He is not even eligible to receive any offers yet but maybe Houston whispered something in his ear.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 05:45 PM) Good god, not a good sign for Renteria's in-game strategy. Abreu had to do that on his own as Hawk said. He had already K'd twice and probably not seeing the ball real well against Severino. Hey at least he didn't hit into a DP though if the Yanks let that popup drop it's an easy Dp maybe even a triple play since Abreu didn't bother to run it out. In fact he was turned around heading back to the dugout as the ball was caught.
  20. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 05:35 PM) Yeah, then Avi showed him how to hit with runners on. All our Garcia's have hit a HR today. Last year when people would ask about anything Avi did right I made sure to point out he was one of the best Sox hitters with RISP. If he took that approach and applied it to all his AB's he may have found something. Avi got some love on MLB network today appearing on the Rundown about his hot start. They took a few twitter questions from fans and one asked him to hit a HR for him tonight. Avi gave the diplomatic answer but might see a reference to it on MLB network highlights tonight.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 10:09 PM) It's psychotic that we're seeing numbers like this all without Rodon. Without Rodon, Sale and Q not at his best.
