Who stay...who goes???
QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) For anyone other than Sale - hell yes... But Sale... For those two alone? I'm not so sure. Benintend I'm pretty sure will be a stud. My only concern with him is how prone to injury he could be. Moncada has at least another year of development ahead of him so I'm less sure how he will pan out but he's immensely talented. I wanted JB Jr when his stock was low because he was always a great defender but now that he has "arrived" his ceiling isn't that high as a hitter.Still, loving great defense like I do it would be fine getting him instead of Moncada . However he has 3 years till free agency and I'd prefer 4 minimum.

Who stay...who goes???
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) If we can get McCutchen that would be great. No it wouldn't. He's already 29 and he'll be a FA after 2018 . That's 2 years. Any piece we get back needs to be the fulll 5/6 years of control. 4 minimum.

Who stay...who goes???
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) I think Sale is long gone to Boston If the Sox could pry Benintendi and Moncada I'd do that asap. Just those 2, no one else is necessary.

Kenny Williams Leaving?
So maybe we end up with the Rick and Rick Show starring Rick Renteria and Rick Hahn. Maybe the Sox could bring back Rick Peterson and make him pitching coach. Renteria should have his choice of coaches and is probably familiar with Peterson. I just want the Three Ricks .

BLACK OUT GAME CXLI
QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) I don't care that this game is meaningless. I hate the Twins and I will rewatch Anderson's mega self-spectating for YEARS. Don't be surprised if Tim is hit with a pitch in his next AB.

BLACK OUT GAME CXLI
2nd double in 2 AB for Melky followed by Abreu double for RBI # 99 .

BLACK OUT GAME CXLI
Timmy crushes one to LF to score Eaton and himself to make it 4-0 .

USA Today: White Sox Will Retain Robin Ventura, If He Wants to Return
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) I'm only not going to rage about this if they decide to sell this offseason and 2017 becomes a punt-year anyway. Then it doesn't matter WHO the sacrificial lamb is. This was my thought when reading so many negative reactions. If the fan base, on here at least, is pretty much in favor of a rebuild then what difference does it make who is managing ? I was one of the first ones on here to bad mouth Robin as a manager, but clearly the onus of the Sox situation is on Hahn, Williams and Reinsdorf. Ventura comes in a distant 4th after them. A change should be made because it is due, hell it's past due but Robin never had the horses to be in the race.

September 28th Game Thread: ChiSox vs. Rays
Frazier hits 40th. Miguel Gonzales pitches very impressively through the rain delay going 8 1/3 . Robertson with a 1 pitch save getting a DP ground ball. Sox 5th win in a row after 6 game losing streak. Sox win 1-0.
-
Poll: Are you still watching games?
The Sox are my team, of course I watch them. I watch to see who hits for a higher batting average, Abreu or Melky. Will Frazier get to 40 HR's? Will Frazier and Abreu each get 100 ribbies ? Carlos Sanchez has 3 HR's and a handful of doubles in the last 8 games. Minaya is pitching well. I enjoy when players and the team does well and and don't let meaningless losses bother me.

Chance The Rapper +8 others concert @USCF
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) It's just rap, pop, and electronic (or whatever Skrillex is classified as) so I don't know what that post meant Actually what I said about not knowing any of the artists wasn't entirely true. I only know Chance the Rapper from his Sox commercials but John Legend, Lil Wayne and Alicia Keys are huge artists and I even knew about Skrillex though I would certainly agree that their genre is hard to pinpoint.

Chance The Rapper +8 others concert @USCF
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 11:58 PM) That's one hell of a lineup. A little bit of something for just about everyone. An old rock and roller like me finds this statement funny. Caveat:I have no idea who any of these artists are so for all I know there could be jazz, rock , big band and country and classical music represented but I highly doubt it.

September 25th Game Thread: ChiSox at Indians
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) It would be so White Sox if they come home and go 7-0 for 81-81. Leave 'em thinking you're close to competing. White Sox going 7-0 ? Nah that is really un-Sox like . They can't even win 4 in a row and when they do win 3 in a row they usually followed it up with a losing streak.

Jose Fernandez dead
So so sad and tragic. A truly amazing talent. Condolences to all that knew him from near and afar.

That was my only point of contention about the new sponsor, the down arrow had to go.

The problem is simple: it's home runs and .OPS
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) And, pretty much every starting pitchers arm/shoulder exploded. Eldred, Sirotka, Parque, and Baldwin all never really were the same again. Baldwin held onto it a bit longer than the other three, but that starting staff was ragged when the playoffs started Off topic but what you just said is why I don't understand the people who complain about Sale or Q or Rodon throwing too many pitches in meaningless games. Cooper ,with Sale's blessing, have agreed that he has faded over the course of previous seasons and they are building his endurance so he can be prepared for the playoffs if he ever gets to them either with the Sox or another team. The strategy is twofold ,not only building endurance for the playoffs but being able to recover for the following seasons work load.
