i'll miss him for sure

i agree. plus it doesnt look like we are talking to anyone else at this point. Although it looks like O perez is only going to cost about 6 million a year, which we can afford
-
I second that, no player is worth that much to me unless its bonds
-
how about a hello for your "first" post, and please people no more hard ons for polanco, get over it!! OUT
-
maybe with 14 prospects included
-
great sig, just keep posting because of that ps, spod isnt going anywhere
-
spoken like a true person who doesnt have any cash
-
also, his dissapointing sophomore slulmp last year could just be a one time thing. Alot of players experience that trend. I think he has tremendous upside as far as that goes
-
if its Finley Vlad and G Anderson, I would still disagree. S Pods is just as good if not better defensively as Finley at his age. A ROW has better range than a hobbled Anderson, and DYE is an upgrade for us in right.

an actual outfield....
-
ooops close me out then
-
I just heard this today, that we released Danny Wright.. Anyone care???

I personally think that this was a very good trade for the sox. I love Carlos and I think he will be a very good hitter for years to come, but the sox are moving in another direction towards pitching and defense and he doesnt fit that mold. As for postitives, first of all I would challenge anyone to come up with a better defensive outfield in the AL than the one the KW has just put together. NOt to mention that with PODS we can now stop relying on Willie to steal all of our bases because we all know that he does not have the jump, nor the intelligence to steal that many bases. Second of all, slowly but surely KW has solidified our bullpen with a couple of key signings, something that we were all crying about in the offseason. And third, it is obvious that he also freed up almost 5 million dollars of wiggle room in the budget to go out and secure another player where it is needed. I know alot of people are crying their eyes out that our power numbers arent going to be the same, and they wont be able to see the pretty fireworks go off as much, but you have to understand that the lineup that was put together for all power has not worked for us. This team needs to try another direction, and this is it, one of defense and pitching. And as far as trying to improve those two areas, I think KW is on the right track. I am very anxious to see what comes about with the rest of the cash for his last move of the offseason.

wow thats informative
-
are you retarded, i think homeruns and the fireworks have blinded your baseball sense. this move not only frees up money for KW to make another move, it gives us probably the best defensive outfield in the AL
-
do you really think that Billy Beane would make a move like this, which would be very one-sided, when there are other teams with better offers??? We arent talking about KW here, im sure this isnt the final deal
-
you dont need that much run production with pitching like that. Look at the way we have been leading the AL in runs and homeruns for years, and yet............nothing. If you want to try something else, having the best pitching staff in the bigs would do just that. And if that doesnt work for us, then we can start over with a new GM, and some new prospects and gut the team. BUt I think we should at least try another direction, and I think that this is it

how come the tigers seem to be the new yankees, every single rumor involves them. Since when are they a big market team...who in their PR office is paying off ESPN to make them look like contenders??
-
he mentioned that they would then go after another hitter, but I doubt they would trade both of them. They also mentioned that Derek Lowe is not a huge priority for the Bosox, I would be perfectly happy with our rotation now and adding derek lowe
-
Peter Gammons was on baseball tonite suggesting that the three way deal with AZ and the yanks might be back on soon. Where we would trade KOnerko and Garland for Vazquez and Gordon, and he suggested that we would then sign Delgado, and the yanks would get RJ
-
shes right though tough guy...he never visited here, never mentioned us as his finalists, and we have not extended an offer
-
Renteria and Perez
-
and then Sosa for George Bell
-
Looks like another pitcher off the market
