QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) I don't know if it's still there or what the rules were, but there used to be a rifle range as part of the IU student union. I don't think there's one in the IMU; at least, I've never seen it. Granted, I can still get lost in that building, it's humongous.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) The wall of security stopped spit from the stands? Come on. Even you said it was drunk college kids. Sullinger is far too classy to react on the court when something like that happens, and its pretty clear that most likely it did. Who cares anyway, you got your win. That reaction would have nothing to do with being classy. It would have everything to do with your body automatically reacting to an external stimulus. I believe Soxbadger was referring to that visceral sort of reaction, not one of anger or anything. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 10:32 PM) "To Serve Man...? IT'S A COOK BOOK!" My favorite Twilight Zone episode of all time.

I told myself the next time the Foos toured, I'd go for sure. I'm just not sure if I want to do it at a big festival, or see them in a regular venue. Also, been listening to a lot of Tokyo Police Club recently.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) You can make anything a positive experience if you choose to make it that way This. Side note: I feel half my posts now are me quoting something and saying "this" or "ding ding ding" in agreement. I should really be more original.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) , one of the most storied programs in the country, celebrating their historical win over #21 Illinois with the towering tandem of Mike & Mike. That actually doesn't bother me like storming the court did. It was the first win over a ranked opponent in Crean's tenure, and we've been starving for this. I actually think it's neat he went to the lobby. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) Wait, people rushed the court for beating Illinois? I know Indiana is down, but damn, you're Indiana. Yup...it was stupid. -

On behalf of Hoosier nation, I would like to apologize for the idiots who rushed the court. I was behind the basket, and stayed firmly planted there. -

If IU plays tomorrow night like we did against Iowa, it'll be ugly. Illinois would flatten us. -
QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 11:56 PM) I'd be happy with old, re-released QotSA. f***ing delays have put their self-titled re-release back another few months. Completely brand new QotSA (which is supposedly going to be worked on this year) would also be fantastic, however. I'm not the biggest Foo Fighters fan for this same reason. The self-titled album is solid (all Grohl, all the time), but I listen to most of the rest of their stuff and just want Grohl to put down the guitar and go crazy on another drum set. Which is just one of many reasons why I'm anxiously awaiting another Them Crooked Vultures album He was so utterly fantastic live. Him and John Paul Jones trading solos was incredible.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) Foo Tease Yes, I'm stoked. Sounds like the boys are getting back to a little 'harder' sound, I can't wait. Definitely. It's pretty obvious Grohl likes that crunchy sound he had from working with Vultures/Queens.

"This is Indiana" music video. Fairly amusing, though I liked their earlier one better. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) Bill Carmody is a very overrated coach. Well on his way to missing the tournament again, and his coaching in the last 30 seconds of tonight's game was awful. Oh, wow. I switched back to Stanford-Va Tech when Northwestern was down like 13 with 3 minutes to go. -
For Anyone Who Says a College Education isn't Important

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) See here is the thing about having a college degree. You say you want it to be about giving you marketable skills. Thing is... it does. Just maybe not the ones you are thinking of. The key elements in pretty much any job in business are things like maturity, communication skills, the ability to learn and adapt quickly, work ethic, and dynamic thinking. Four years of college is meant to give you exactly that, and here's the real killer - part of getting those skills includes the partying, the extra-curriculars, the sports, the friends... all the non-school stuff. Going off to school and learning to function on your own in all of that is a key part of what college gives you. I definitely agree with this. Just going away and forcing you to live on your own makes you grow up real quick...but at the same time, college is more forgiving of mistakes than the "real world" I think. -
Tasty things, those human enchiladas.

Admittedly, I wasn't alive then, and don't know too much of what really happened to the city on daily basis in that time.
-
I understand it being way different simply because it won't be a Daley in charge, but given that Rahm comes straight out of the Machine himself, how much will really change?
-
Kelvin? Or Fahrenheit? Oh, not that sort of degrees.
