  1. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) There's a Sonic every mile or so here. It's ridiculous, although I love me some cherry cokes. I think their burgers are nasty. Take that back! Their burgers are delicious, as are their popcorn chicken and cherry limeades.
  2. I haven't listened to it too much yet, but so far I'm not too happy with the new Gaslight Anthem record. It's bad, per se, but seems sort of bland and just sort of standard stuff after their first two. This is especially so after The '59 Sound, which was just phenomenal all around.

    Summer Drinks

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 06:33 PM) Electric Lemonade: One 24 case of miller lite one handle of vodka of choice lemonade powder -Put in a large jug and stir. It may sound like it would taste terrible, but it is actually pretty damn good, especially for bbqs and outdoor parties What? Every Electric Lemonade I've ever had has been bright blue, and does have the vodka and lemonade, but also perhaps gin and sprite (I hate gin, and am thus ok without it). What you're describing sounds much more like a Baltimore Zoo (which is basically a long island + beer. Tastier than it sounds).
  4. Dave Grohl apparently really likes doing that.
  5. I haven't read any of the posts, but I would just like to say: I am a man that enjoys amaretto sours. Just had to get that off my chest.
  6. Yeah, I was looking to see if anyone had posted anything that poster yet. Disgusting.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Look at the incidents FDR used to try to get us into the war before this. Each one was bigger and bigger, and it still wasn't enough to get the US in. He knew it would literally take an act of war to get us in, which is exactly what he wanted. Read his correspondence with Churchill for the years before the act and it really reinforces it. FDRs own words make me think he knew more than anything else does. Don't forget one of his big plans also had gotten out the weak before and undermined a lot of the support he was trying to build. If he pulled out part of the fleet at the perfect time, it would have made any allegations that he knew about this ahead of time a lot more tacky. Confirmation bias much? Anyway, I agree mostly with what has been said. I think FDR/some parts of the government knew SOMETHING was about to happen, including possibly an act of war, but they didn't know explicitly it would be Pearl Harbor on December 7th. I've never really seen any even remotely damning evidence about 9/11. I also just don't believe that there are enough people required to be in on that sort of conspiracy who would be willing to let several thousand Americans die in an attack on continental American soil. As for JFK...I could believe that there was a conspiracy of some sort, probably involving the mafia or unions, but not with the federal government itself.
  8. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 26, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) lol, but Gary has one of the best casinos (Majestic Star) in the Chicago area. A "little" crime in Gary aint gonna stop me from going there. How do you define "little?"
  9. I doubt it. They are about to go to Europe, and they mentioned several times that this would be their last North American show. That fits, considering the Foo Fighters are supposedly recording a new album later this year.
  10. Them Crooked Vultures were phenomenal last night.
  11. Extremely NSFW http://deadspin.com/5535648/bathroom-sex-p...sports-bar-nsfw This is more for my fellow Hoosiers who understand the hilarity of Sports, but anyone can be amused by it. Again, extremely NSFW.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) Which is why everyone sort of ignores the corruption. This. I understand all the arguments in principle, but often I'm tempted to like a corrupt government that gets stuff done more than a less-corrupt one that gets nothing done.
  13. Also, in reference to the traffic stop, if the scenario you posted occurred, and the driver could not produce a valid driver's license, then they would be charged with a crime, and if my understanding of the old law is correct, would have allowed them to follow up on whether or not the person was an illegal immigrant.
  14. That's not the point though. The point is that, as written (or perhaps more accurately, as what is reportedly written), this law gives local authorities WAY too much leeway in whom they can ask for papers from. And that's not even touching whether or not this law is even within a state's jurisdiction.
  15. Teague to Kentucky. How long til Calipari gets nailed?
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:31 AM) are you in chicago? They played a show here last week for 10 bucks. I'm originally from the suburbs, but I'm in Bloomington for school most of the year.
  17. I would like to see Titus Andronicus, I was hoping they'd be at Lolla.
  18. I would like to see Social D, but not much more than that. Maybe Soundgarden and Green Day, but they're not a big deal for me.
  19. I was laughing out loud. I think I like the Swiss comment the best.
  20. I'm hoping my glasses aren't too rose colored as I write this.... I expect Indiana to be roughly .500 next year. That's assuming a few things: Maurice Creek comes back completely healthy. Matt Roth too, but I think his absence was overstated by a lot of people. Watford and Elston don't transfer Muniru can contribute slightly/Pritchard remembers how to play basketball (though I wouldn't be too surprised if Pritchard transferred to a smaller school)
  21. I was two hotels down from there a week or two before this happened. It's definitely a tragedy, but quite frankly, I'm surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often down there. That place is absolutely insane during spring break.
  22. Yeah, I feel last year's was better. Still sad I missed Manchester Orchestra, Cage the Elephant, and Gaslight Anthem, not to mention the headliners and whatnot.
