Official 2011-2012 NCAA Football Thread

Yeah, really stoked for Kiel. Hopefully we snag a few bodies for the line to protect him. I know we already have one or two decent OL recruits for 2012, but more would be nice. Up next: Fixing the defense. Good luck, Wilson/Ekeler/Mallory. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:01 PM) They could trade him and save about $1 million. Probably wouldn't get anything worthwhile in exchange, but if KW wants to get younger, eliminating the 44 year old drops the average age a little bit. But this is probably Omar's last year anyway (on the 25-man...he'll probably be on the coaching staff).

Really interested to see what's happening. Gotta be a trade.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) I started reading parts of his manifesto, holy s*** it was boring. Not as boring as the Unabomber's, but still pretty f***ing boring. If you're gonna write one, might as well make it as badass as possible. Just a waste, otherwise.
-
What about Brett Gardner? He would be nice in in the outfield.

Frankly, I think a Monday-Wednesday-Friday only postal service would be perfectly fine.

So many great deals.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) I'd love to hear these stories. Please PM me. Me too me too. -
I'm way late to this party, but I've been listening to Blitzen Trapper's "Furr" (2008) non-stop. It's f***ing incredible.

Remember that Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake History of Rap video that was so funny? There's another one. http://www.hulu.com/watch/259803/late-nigh...y-of-rap-part-2

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) And of course, Rosie judges and condemns everyone who doesn't follow her beliefs. Oddly, she loves Israel as much as I do. Sometimes, I wonder if she knows they're Jewish. This made me laugh. It does bring up a good (if hackneyed) point, though. Far too often people just agree with what tends to go along with their beliefs (in this case, it seems Rosie only loves Israel because she's otherwise conservative, and that's what you're "supposed" to do. Please correct me if I'm wrong), without realizing the massive amount of cognitive dissonance going on.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 04:58 PM) Sort of, but it doesn't seem to say that it existed, then didn't, and then did again. Perhaps the person was just lying or confused. Well, it does talk about the views and how they've changed, which is essentially what you're asking. Obviously, not anyone can say whether it definitively exists or not.

Heat Index topped 113 where I work today (a beach, incidentally).

Former LSU bigman Garrett Green being called by IU. He has 1 year of eligibility remaining, and can play this year (he wants a Master's in a program LSU doesn't have), so it'd be perfect since he wouldn't affect the 2012 numbers. -
Well, it is the liberal enclave of the Lone Star state.

I feel like this is one of the really long slugfest games at first are exciting, and then bore you to death and you can't wait for them to end.
-
I got really excited with all the talk about chocolate milk...and then it stopped.

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) You can judge me when you've bothered to serve your country. Bye. You can only be judged in any context by people who have also served in the military? I am so confused right now. I think the thing that got me the most about the thread were the repeated sentiments that sexual orientation is a choice. Seriously? But I'm just gonna cinch it up and hunker down.

Where I work, 16s are far and away the most popular, FWIW.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) Oladipo and Sheehey will get a ton of minutes. They've been tearing it up in the Indy pro ams which is a summer league of NBA players and college players. Oladipo shut down Shelvin Mack last week and put up 22 points. Sheehey has grown to 6'7" also. Oladipo has put on 15 pounds of muscle and looks bigger than ever. His handle has improved leaps and bounds I hear too. Creek's rehab is right on schedule. His best basketball won't be played at IU, but I think he'll be alright this next year. His senior year should be pretty damn good if there are no setbacks. 2012-2013 should be the year IU is "back". Yeah, I've heard that Sheehey has gotten light years better (now if only he could shoot, then he could be All Big Ten), and Dipo is our best defender. So quick. -
Just saw Horrible Bosses. Liked it a lot, though I thought the ending with Julia could have been better. Mothaf***a Jones was awesome.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) How many years of eligibility does he have left? Only 2. He couldn't apply for a medical redshirt because both injuries occurred midway through the season (the first was in late December, the second was in mid-January). I wonder if he'll be granted an additional year after he's done because of time lost...but the precedent isn't good for that. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) What's up with M. Creek? I'm not penciling him in til I see he's actually healthy again. He would be so damn good if he hadn't gotten injured (he was leading the entire nation in freshman scoring when he got injured two years ago). Then last year he obviously wasn't 100%, and then he injured the OTHER knee. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) how does one argue that they ARE patriotic if the definition they are classifying for being patriotic are mostly just things that are identified with being republican? That's been more or less what I've been trying to get across in the 1 or 2 posts I've made in this thread, and they were never addressed.
