I can see Frasor gone as we have several potential minor league righties that can step into the spot, but we need three lefties in the pen. You never have enough lefty relief help so Thonton is needed and is the expereince we need also. 5 innings of experience from Santiago and have him step in and take over from Sale and Thornton? I wouldn't think so

The reason we shouldn't be so quick to want Thornton traded. Ohman is a situational lefty and Matt can go two innings at least. Possibly Santiago can replace Sale, if in fact Sale can cut it as a starter. Lots on unanswered questions at this point obviously

Developing our own closer. He was pretty good and just needs a bit more experience, which I hope comes next season quickly. He blew some pretty big games but then so do the rest of the relief staff. Has to be better in 2012 right? All in all I think this is a good move and glad to have Sergio Santos on the team

The simple answer to why Cora is not interim manager is because he is joinig Ozzie in Florida. Ozzie and Joey are too close and would maange much the same way probably and that's why KW wouldn't go with Cora, if he really wants to go in a different direction. But, in reality I think the stories of Jerry wanting both KW and Ozzie back for 2012 are true. Ozzie just wasn't willing to stay one more year considering the opportunity arising in Florida
