QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 05:36 PM) He's not. He's an average QB who has been the beneficiary of having the best coach in NFL history. He had zero to do with any of his wins. They won 3 SBs because of his kicker and 2 because the opposing coaching staff pissed themselves. He deserves zero rings, and I give 100% of the credit of the Pats to Belichick, and zero to Brady. Right place at right time. The year that they won 11 games with Matt f***ing Cassell at QB proved this to me. Would people say he was the GOAT if he was 3-4 in Super Bowls instead of 5-2? No. I rest my case. He SHOULD BE 3-4 in Super Bowls. That is a losing record mind you. To me, even though this thought is a a consensus, it is an insult to my football intelligence to say otherwise. Brady and Favre are the most overrated QBs in NFL history and it isn't even close. this. Not to mention...again....one...ONE penalty called on NE today. lol... My son and I sat there and counted at least 4 holding calls that they refused to call on NE. Jags crapped down their pants tho...plain and simple. Very Fox-like handing off on every first down and watching the RB run right up the guards ass....EVERY 1st down. And their lack of blitzing was mind boggling. I'm not saying he's not good...but GOAT?!? not IMO...and everybody got one of those. I already know I won't be watching another NFL/NE/Goodell Super Bowl butt-kissing fest in two weeks. Just won't do it. I'll be out paddling the yak fishing somewhere....

Lol...keep grasping at s*** boys! Kudos with the back pedaling. No...polls had her winning BIGLY! Spin it any way you want...blame any mueller crap you want...they were massively wrong. Every single one of you misjudged people sitting back just waiting to vote. Blame it on whatever. Maybe blame democrats for trotting a lying old stale pos candidate out there people couldn’t stand. And too bad with the 2m morevote bs. Like I said...the country does not revolve around heavy metropolitan blue cities like Chicago...la and nyc. Get over it...

QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Jan 20, 2018 -> 03:27 PM) Yeah, I'm guessing it'll be "fake news" to you, but approval ratings polls have told us a completely different narrative. But, by all means, carry on believing as you do, if that's what you want. Those the same polls that had Hillarybilly winning huge before the election?!? Yeah...you carry on Champ lol...nice try.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 20, 2018 -> 02:28 PM) I was wondering if this current period of time because of Trump is closest we've been to a completely divided country, almost to where there would be another Civil War. Trump is so despised by a segment. Yet there are those who voted for him who are very aggressive and they constitute a sizeable amount of people. Add to that all the unrest over the cops killing people of color and the white supremists vs. BLM and you have a truly divided land. If America wants to be divided it has succeeded. Perhaps the most divided ever except in time of official Civil War? that will be Trump's legacy. A split very angry country. lol...where the hell were you people from 2008 to 2016 with the Divider in Chief in charge? Barry did more to completely divide this country and stir up racial divide than anybody I've seen in my lifetime...but it all depends on what side of the fence you're on huh? I realize most on this board kissed his ass at every turn...they saw absolutely nothing he did as bad. That's your home boy from Chicago...I get it. It's why I usually never get involved in these type of threads/forums. Barry was just as despised...and by just as large a segment. There's more people in the country than just Chicago...NYC...and Califoria. What people don't seem to get...why Donny was elected isn't because of the D or R next to their name...it's because he's really neither...people are sick of both. Neither said gives a tinkers damn about you...or your family or well being. If you honestly think Democrats do...you're incredibly naive. It's all about "what can you do to get yourself re-elected". How/why do you think the spend so much money to take a meager salary...only to leave (if they ever do) as multi-millionaires? Newsflash...country has been split for quite some time. It's idiotic to blame it on Trump...but I'm sure the MSM will do it's best to "tone it down". lol.... Keep the masses at each other's throats....it's how people stay in control/power. This country isn't smart enough to figure that out yet....

Anybody watched Shot Caller on Amazon? Pretty badass movie honestly... I think my next watch will be American Made.

QUOTE (soxfan18 @ Jan 20, 2018 -> 01:30 PM) I don't get all the vest love. It was a 2000s fad that thankfully died. As a player...sleeveless are incredibly comfortable too (besides looking great).

Brewers Acquire Christian Yelich & sign Lorenzo Cain
Wanne replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
agree with the last two statements. First....a little early to be dumping top prospects...and I really want no part of trading our pitching assets...yet. -
You don't mess with perfection. Sox have the best unis in baseball IMO. The only thing I'd like to see are the sleeveless back....

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:30 AM) Remember, the athletic is a pay to play content provider and the entire media industry has been upheaved, with many writers losing their jobs, etc. Stuff behind a paywall can't be shared. People are welcome to post general summaries, but if you want to read the full article, you should subscribe. By all accounts the content on the athletic is absolutely fantastic. yeah...It's really pretty cheap and has some fantastic articles...for all the Chicago teams. Thanks to this site for turning me on to it.....much appreciated...and well worth the quiche! (and this coming from a guy that HATES to pay for anything online)....

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:51 AM) I prefer the french Canadian "RoBear"....and I am sticking with it! this is where I'm at...

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 02:17 PM) Are they letting fans wander around back there on the practice fields? Wouldn't mind taking the morning off and checkin' it out.... aaaaaand the answer was a big fat....NO. I tried....
-
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 01:21 PM) Ryan Burr is a guy who I could see flying under the radar, but actually ending up becoming a solid bullpen piece for the Sox. good call...and agreed.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 06:53 AM) Could honestly see the Giants being good this year. Lot of guys with down seasons last year. They should probably sign whoever the best defensive CF is to help prevent runs and move McCutchen to RF. And Bumgarner being a bonehead on a motorcycle...or ATV or whatever it was. They're old...but I agree that it honestly wouldn't surprise me to see them being good this year...but they're a few pitchers away from being that good. That's a very tough division tho. Personally they'd be better served to clean house and rebuild...

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 10:27 PM) My enthusiasm for Underwood is officially wavering. yeah...I'm not putting this on Underwood until he has a couple of his own recruiting classes. He's stated that this is the "quitest" team he's ever been around (read that from another poster on a different board)...but in his post game presser he laments (again) lack of leadership. Not to mention like most have been saying there's ZERO inside presence. If I never have to watch Michael Finke play basketball again I'll be happy. Ebo has really improved. I can't believe how horrible Mark Smith actually is...he was Illinois Mr. Basketball?!?!? My biggest complaint about last night is he tried nothing to slow the bleeding. Hell...I'd have gone 1-3-1 zone towards the end of the 1st half. Iowa guards were just gashing and feeding for easy baskets. Trent Frazier has been the biggest surprise. But again...I'll give Underwood a few classes before I pass any judgement on him. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 9, 2018 -> 09:20 AM) my point was...you allow one of your players to act like that...on national tv. It's ok to not only throw a punch on the field...but come off the field and get into it with him and throw a punch at him too?!? Pathetic. And people why kids today act like little asshats sometimes...they see things like that with zero consequences and think it's ok. All about the W....

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 9, 2018 -> 01:19 AM) Am I wrong in thinking that was one helluva football game? As somebody with no ties to either team and no hatred for either school I thought it was a compelling comeback victory. Let's rate ourselves as sports fans, what type we are. When the game ended did you think: "What a choke job by Georgia?" Or "What a comeback victory by Alabama?" I chose the latter. I really did see a team completely wear out another team. Alabama even overcame the missed FG. It seemed like Alabama was playing a high school team the latter portions of the game. Georgia has nothing going offensively or defensively during a long long period of time that constituted the comeback. Kudos to Bama. And kudos to Nick Saban for showing America what's truly important and setting a great example for all the young players out there! Has a guy get a flag for throwing a punch at a Georgia player. Player comes to sidelines and gets pissed at one of the coaches and takes a swing at him on national tv....is going beserk and has to be restrained. Aaaaaaaand....is still allowed to go back out on the field (and lucky he didn't get another penalty for cloth-lining a GA player. Kudos Saban you jagoff.

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
Wanne replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hard to say....Cub fans are still lamenting losing GTorres...but they don't win the series without Chapman. So in terms of "win now" and give up a top prospect to bring home a trophy...I say you have to. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2018 -> 12:32 PM) I love hearing Micker's name pop up in different spots. If that dude continues his breakout that makes us a lot deeper in the OF. yeah...and he stressed the fact of how young he still is. Alluded that he'd be only a jr in college right now...but he already has X amount of years in pro ball already. I don't think even a lot of Sox fans (obviously everyone on here knows)...but the common Sox fan on the street know anything about this kid or his potential. And he's a BIG kid really...6-3'"....210ish.

Speculation - Sox potential landing spot for Ichiro

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 27, 2017 -> 02:07 PM) For those that didn’t read article, it was nothing more than listing potential places he could land due to roster. There is no actual smoke here. yeah...saw it was a CBS article and kinda chuckled. Slow news day for them..... -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 07:55 PM) The last two episodes of Punisher are intense. My brother and i talked about how squeamish we were when And you know what, there was some depth to it. Franks story was flashed out very well and Micro also has a good part Saw that they picked up Punisher for another season. Pretty stoked....loved the first season.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 5, 2017 -> 12:54 PM) Caught the first episode last night. I was totally lost for about 35 minutes but it came together at the end. I'm intrigued enough to keep watching. Godless. Yeah...that's how I was. Watched 1st and 2nd episode...and got sucked in. Jeff Daniels is great.... Has that one chick in it too that was Kicking Birds wife in Dances With Wolves...and she had a quick part in Wind River.

Wanne replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Can't see why the Marlins would let go of Yelich...nor the Sox depleting the assets they've acquired to get him. Stay the course. Don't mind the dialogue at all...and like a few said....it's the Marlins so who knows what it would take. The highest guy on the totem pole I'd trade would be Lopez. I'd consider Rutherford too. Adolfo...maybe Sheets. But they're not getting Giolito. And like others have said....guys like Moncada, Kopech and Jimenez are untouchable. -

QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 19, 2017 -> 06:49 PM) I'm sure he's not coming to Chicago, but he'd honestly be a perfect fit. wouldn't mind that one bit... -
I don't blame him one bit...his career may very well be over. It's hard to say anyone was "negligent"....and looking at the replay I still don't see any box...just padding. Regardless...it's hard not to feel horrible for this kid. Just brutal...
