  1. QUOTE (Winning Ugly @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) Carlos is out of the game. BA will save us!
  2. Hey that looked like a 2 strike swing.
  3. Uribe not looking good at all here.
  4. Anybody but Uribe in this situation.
  5. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 08:26 AM) Wow. In a strange sort of way, I respect someone who shows a little flair and style for their "final exit". The downside is the mess and trauma for those that have to clean up. That is wrong. Yes the truck caused a minor traffic accident and strangely enough it took a while to find the head. The head rolled off to a nearby restaurant that closed not long after the incident. The family was both shocked and humiliated. He seemed to be a happy guy.
  6. Yeah even top athletes are susceptible to cramps in these conditions. He probably didn't even feel any serious cramping, but just a hint of a cramp is good reason to leave the game especially for Griffey. A bad cramp can you leave you sore for days.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) Awfulannouncing.com Wow we're hardly even covered, its practically just a local telecast. What's the point of Fox picking up the game?
  8. Reading that really made me want to make the trip up there next year and show you old men how its done.
  9. A man in my town drove a tow truck for a living and at his place of work he took a chain, tied it around his neck, tied it to a nearby pole, and proceeded to floor it in his truck.

QUOTE (CubKilla @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:46 AM) Get them whores $40-$50 whores would probably be more of a disservice than anything else. Edit: Not to mention it could be better phrased as $40-$50 communicable diseases. /green
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 01:08 AM) Those f***ing "game changer" rants drove me up a wall. I am one of Hawk's biggest fans, but he is just another reason I'm glad to be done with this f***ing series and team for almost 2 months. You know we're in some s*** when the homer Hawk has the same defeatist attitude as the team.
  12. Bring me Griffey!
  13. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) that movie was just on tonight I'm not talking about this thread necessarily, but you know how people go to the Cubs, Tigers, or Twins message boards and talk about things they say and we get a laugh. Ever wonder how often people check our board and laugh at us? That's a really good question. If anyone saw this, they would definitely post it and laugh at us.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) As bad as Swish has been, Konerko isn't even on his level, which says just ho bad Paulie has been. If you subtract the month of June, one could argue Swisher's been worse outside of that month.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) Benched yes, cut no. Sorry I don't worship Swish like some do on here. Check Oz's quote the other day and he also ripped Swish's batting average, comparing it to Paulie's. Calling me "the same guy" is an insult. You are not the only person with an opinion on baseball. I root for Swish to do well. Do I think he sucks? Yes I do. If he is the hero of September or the WS I'll be the first to say I was wrong. I think that if we were to bench Swish in favor of Konerko it would probably change nothing if they both played just as they are now. If Swish struggles for the next series or two, Paul deserves another extended chance because Swish has hardly outproduced him previously this season.
  16. I think this Royals series is a good chance to build some confidence. I believe the addition of Griffey will energize the club and picking up some wins will get us mentally ready for what's ahead.
  17. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) this is just phenomenal photo editing. i love it
  18. I think many people on here underestimate the change from corner OF to CF. Balls hit to center field seem routine because they hardly move. Balls hit to left and right slice and hook hard towards the foul line as a general rule, and are thus much more difficult to read. However, in CF you need to have better reads because you are responsible for a great deal of ground compared to the corners. One could certainly argue that someone with speed that struggled with the slice would do better and cover more ground in center. I have, as a matter of fact witnessed this. I've played on a team with two centerfielders, one of whom was a great CF the other was an above average CF and neither could play left or right at an acceptable level because the break on the ball was so much greater.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) Kudos to Sox fans for the following....I didn't hear one person suggest that the Sox should play PK at 3rd base. Catcher.
  20. Horrible 2 strike hack there.
  21. Buehrle definitely balks in that commercial.
