  1. Dude, you should know better. Hawk never disappoints. BTW, I was gonna light you up for making another "Crucial to the Sox Season" post. I definitely chuckled when I read the question.
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Latest odds I've seen have Illinois favored by 1 tomorrow. Wonder where Man of Steel is with his "I'll give you 16" comments now. Can't wait til tomorrow, should be a great game, ESPN even said it may be the biggest game of the year to this point. I don't think it will top the Wisconsin game. That game had absurd ratings. Its going to be another tough test on the road. If the guard play is as outstanding as it was against Minnesota, no one can touch us...and hey, if they get shut down, our lil' James Augustine is making quite the name for himself this week.
  3. ...am I in the right place to recommend Run Lola Run? Just saw it for the first time this weekend and loved it. Brilliant.
  4. Here's a nice, fluffy thread. If this thread has been made in the past, please feel free to revive/merge. Growing up in the music industry and being exposed to all things music at a very, very early age, I'd like to think I know a great deal about music; but when I was asked this question today at dinner, I really had to sit down and think. Can such a thing exist? Its almost like picking which child you love more. Perhaps your choices will come a lot easier than mine. For me, its a toss up between "Wish You Where Here," by Pink Floyd and "In My Time of Dying," by Zeppelin. I can't wait to see the responses! What is your favorite song of all time?
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) just so that everyone knew what i felt. besides isnt this the point, to express ur feelings?, also i wanted people to know that im sick of everyone defending Magg$. theres proof that hes a liar, with the staements i provied above that magg$ said. Works for me. Welcome aboard!
  6. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) i dont know about you's, but im soooo sick of magg$. Then why start a new thread?
  7. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Good riddance, I'd rather have John Adkins in my bullpen!
  8. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Jeff George is going to have a job again? Yes, and in my estimation, it will be with the Bears.
  9. I expect the Bears to have four QBs on the roster next season. 1. Grossman 2. Hutchinson 3. George 4. Kitner Krenzel is gone, as is Quinn. Happy trails fellas.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Yep, HE GAWN... "Nelson clears air, ready to return Reliever about to embark on third tour of duty in Seattle" http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp ...and there he goes. A minor league contract gets it done. Best of luck to Nelson. I hope he gets back on track with the M's.
  11. Here's hoping we destroy MSU at home. I loath the Spartans and all things MSU; they are one of the only teams in Division I athletics that I despise. Oskee-Wow-Wow!!!
  12. My baseball source in Minny said the Cubs have shown tons of interest in Jones. I've been reporting this for two months now. If the Twinks agree to terms with Santana for a one year deal (or more), Jones will be gone. However, I think they'd dish him without re-signing Santana as well.
  13. Both Jurassic and Uribe looked fit as Soxfest. They'll be more than ready to go, come ST.
  14. Fluke? This guy is a clown. So, wait a minute, you are criticizing the Punky QB!? You said he went down? That's a bit racist wouldn't you say? :headshake :puke
  15. Maurice's draft status will rest entirely upon combines. If he comes in shape and can run 4.4, he'll be taken somewhere in either the third or fourth round. If fat Maurice shows up, he'll fall as far as the sixth round. Personally, I think the in-shape Maruice shows up and he proves he can make it in the NFL. Maurice is in the top 12-15 for RB regardless. He has raw talent.
  16. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) I get what you're saying. I too think CArl will be in shape and be a contributor. Yet once Frank comes back, the Sox will be paying a bench guy $4 mill. He's valuable until Frank comes back. But having Gload at 1B and his .320 avg with Pk at Dh isn't shabby either. Could the Sox get another valuable player or two for Carl [say a backup SS in case Uribe, Crede or Iguchi go down]? Right now the MVP for the Sox is Uribe [as the starting SS and backup plan at 2b and 3b], and the Sox can't do without him. If the Sox could get some talent at the AAA level in case a guy goes down to injury [how about a LH backup for Marte, a SP prospect, etc], that may be as important. Esp with Brian Anderson in AAA this yr, the Sox need backup plans at other positions rather than the OF. You make some excellent points. I read you all the way. Kenny knew what he was doing by re-aquiring him last year at the expense of Rauch. Everett is valuable anyway you cut it; he's valuable both on the field as a contributer, and off the field as trade material. Utimately, I don't think a decision will be made on Jurassic until the deadline, when team needs and such start to surface.
  17. Simply put, Everett is too valuable to the ballclub right now. Obviously, Jurassic needs to anchor down the DH spot while Hurt is on the DL; but when Hurt is activated, say either he or Dye (both injury prone at this point in their careers) goes down, Jurassic can step in and not miss a beat. Jurassic should also come into ST more steamlined and ready to go. I think his body shape/work ethic last year rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but that is a thing of the past. His power production and veteran ability is something the Sox can't afford to trade to the Northside, or any other side for that matter. I'm a Jurassic fan and I think he'll contribute a good deal to the White Sox of 2005. After that, who knows. If we are out of it at the deadline, and I don't know why we would be, trade him. If not, he'll be a veteran piece to the final strectch.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) What have i started. :headshake In a related story, who is that in your avatar?
  19. A few words on the Senior Bowl... Frye- Charlie Frye, the game's MVP, made the most out of his opportunity and assured himself a first or second round selection. His size, accuracy, and intangibles are all NFL ready. After having watched what Frye can do against top-notch competition, I project the Packers select their heir-apparent with their first round selection. Sproles- Darren proved he can hang with the big boys. I project he'll be a late-round selection and will see times on special teams in the NFL. Orton- Orton's preformance was nothing special, but he'll be a first day selection none-the-less. If he can have a solid combine, Orton may improve his stock and end up in the second or third round. Before his fall from grace, the Packers were looking at him to take over with Favre retires, but, they may now focus their attention on Charlie Frye. Campbell- Although I project Campbell will be a clipboard quarterback in the NFL, he may end up being drafted in the third or fouth round and could compete for a backup spot in the NFL. He reminds me of Quincy Carter, but with better accuracy. Nugent- Mike Nugent, OSU kicker, may join the ranks of the kicking elite in the NFL in two years time. He is unreal. Perhaps he'll go as high as Kaeding. Swancutt- Defensive player of the game. His stock will now soar. Carnell Williams- Cadillac had an amazing week of practice and developed quite the relationship with Coach Gruden. I project Carnell to go to the Bucs in the first round. Stock Up- Frye, Williams, Nugent Stock Down- Orlovsky, Arrington.
  20. I was really impressed with Charlie Frye. He'll make a team very happy one day. Barring any injury and a good combine, he may go to the Packers in the first round.
  21. QUOTE(kwill @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) i dont konw about you guys but for some reason i am still hoping for kenny to pull off one more trade just to take the headlines away from the sosa deal. I believe that the sox dominated the headlines in chicago this offseason, and i would like to see kenny make a trade just to keep the momentum going in our favor. It doesnt sound to logical but i was wondering if anyone else felt this way. I think we still have major pawns to play either now or at the deadline. I think we should keep willie for now and see how crede plays in the first half. IF he doesnt produce we could ship him out at the deadline, iguchi to ss, and put willie back in. I believe the sox could get alot for crede in return. Anyone have these thoughts or am i the only who thinks this way?? By the way who here wants to just kick the s*** out of all the critics who are nto giving kenny credit for remaking the club. He has done a terrific job this offseason but no one gives him props. Absurd. That's a first class ticket to running your team into the dirt. So, no, I don't think we should make a move to "steal" the headlines; and no, I don't want to kick the s*** out of all the critics would don't give Kenny credit for remaking his club. :puke
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) Haha mos, i got it to work. who's that? Chingy?
  23. If Maggs is healthy, the Tigers have their face of the organization locked up for 5 years. If not, they took a big risk and came up short; thus, the nature of the Detroit Tigers. If you want big namem players to come to Detroit, you have to either sign them to stupid contracts, or catch them on the downside of their career.
