  1. I heard about that. Lol @ Non-HIV STD. Looks like she doesn't want to scare off other men. I don't even know why he got married in college without testing the NBA life.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) I don't think he'll ever overhaul the roster (I hope he proves me wrong, but I am doubtful of it) and Uncle Jerry seems to be asleep at the wheel with firing him. It's a bad situation. It's pretty much like he was with Krause. He likes him and he'll stay loyal to him until the fans start chanting Fire Paxson.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) I agree 100 percent with all of this, but hoping for a trade is a waste of time with John Paxson running the show. He seems to think all of these players are his first born and won't part with them. Which is why he should be fired. This team won't improve until he overhauls the roster or is fired.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) If you're gonna trade a first rounder for Boldin (I wouldn't. Not for a second-tier WR who apparently acts little b**** when he doesn't get his way), you better be sure you can upgrade at least one of the offensive or defensive lines through FA. Drafting an OLineman in the first round is a waste unless it is your only need. Other than that, you could find a Pro Bowler in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Boldin a 2nd tier WR? Have you checked his numbers? http://www.nfl.com/players/anquanboldin/profile?id=BOL283010 Keep in mind, he also suffered through the likes of Josh McCown.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) The Bulls as currently built cannot win without Ben Gordon's scoring. If other guys have bad games, the Bulls can still find a way to win, but if Gordon shoots poorly, the Bulls are probably going to lose. In addition, Gordon is a bit of a one trick pony (even with his improved play in others areas this year), and if his shot isn't falling, he's a noticeable liability to the team while on the floor. One thing that is clear is that this team isn't going to the playoffs or around .500 though, so it might be time to start hoping for losses and ping pong balls soon. In addition, the Bulls better bring a major scorer into the fold if Gordon leaves because as much as poeple like myself dislike Ben, the Bulls need those 18 to 22 points a game. Well, I think all Bulls fans are better off hoping for a trade. This upcoming draft is by far the worst one of this decade. Nobody besides Blake Griffin looks to be an impact player. I like Greg Monroe myself, but at that, I could easily see him turning into a nobody.
  6. Not that I'm excusing a bad game, but where is the blame on the other players such as Kirk, Drew Gooden, Nocioni? When we win, it wasn't because of Gordon. When we lose, Gordon blew. What happened to we wouldn't miss a beat without him? Where are those people who say, Gordon isn't a difference maker? Rose has an excellent game, Noah has an excellent game, Gordon has a bad game(he's been in a slump), and the Bulls lose. So I guess that makes Rose and Noah non-factors? [/rant] I hope Gordon comes out of this slump because we need him in order to win. Sucks we lost to a terrible team. It was nice seeing Larry on the bench again.
  7. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) It's gonna cost a 1st round pick. Don't think Angelo would do that. Not like his track record for 1st round picks is great. And one of this team's greatest need is WR. Why not get a for sure thing?
  8. http://www.realgmfootball.com/src_wiretap_...on_celebration/ Boldin dipped out on the celebration. He really really doesn't want to be in Arizona. Bears should try to pick him up. I know they won't, but the Bears need a real WR.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 08:58 PM) I don't think so. He just really had no chance against a defense of this caliber. Especially on the road in a game of this magnitude. They desperately needed to run the ball effectively to win the game. And with McClain a non-factor due to injury, the Ravens really had no chance. Nope. Reed is by far the best ballhawking safety in the league. As Palehose stated, Troy excels at both ballhawking and as a run stopper. Congrats by the way Palehose. Agree to disagree then. I think Ed is better as does Troy, but there really isn't a way to say, for sure, without a doubt as one guy is not definitely better than the next. And since I would take either one on my team and not be upset about it, I'll leave it at that. I would prefer Ed Reed, you would prefer Troy. Not shabby options, especially when you consider Bears safeties, or for my team, the Cowboys.
  10. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) If Hines Ward is done, that might be a solid pick. He looks done. That leg injury looked nasty.
  11. I'm going with the Cardinals. They seem to be playing on both cylinders and I don't think the Steelers are capable of scoring more points than the Eagles did and I don't think they are capable of slowing down the Cardinals offense unless they don't blitz much at all. A great point brought up is that when you blitz a high octane offense, you leave the down the field option open. When you have Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin as the WR's, that's asking for trouble. I think it will be great game, but honestly, I could see either team blowing out the other one.
  12. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) That's why Polamalu is the best safety in the league. Plays the pass and run very well. Reed is better, Troy is playing on a healthier team. Even Troy said Ed Reed is the best.
  13. Wow, nice play by the Cardinals. Eagles secondary is having a hard time right now.
  14. So much for Pie, he just was traded.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 02:25 PM) This is the set-up for the Peavy deal. It's the only reason why this and the Derosa deal were done. I don't think so. They have less of what the Padres would want or need. I don't know why people still think they're going to get Peavy. They have nothing to trade.
  16. I think the Eagles and Ravens win, with the Eagles finally winning the Super Bowl. If the Cardinals win, I expect them to lose against the Ravens.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 02:18 AM) Think it's about time to start looking at the Magic as a legitimate contender in the EC. They've got to be the least talked about 32-8 team I can remember. Very impressive road win against by far the best team in the west tonight. Come playoff time, I'm still not convinced enough that they have a guy who can create for himself when key baskets are needed. We shall see though. They are definitely one of the top 2 teams in the East. I still don't consider Cleveland all that great.
  18. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) There's a difference between "dumbing down" the offense and doing what the Bulls are doing right now. Their offensive basically consists of 3 guys standing on the perimeter while a big that can't run the pick-and-roll sets a pick for Rose, then if he doesn't get to the basket it gets kicked out to someone that generally passses it around the perimeter or takes a long jumper. They really run more of a quasi-DDR offense than D'Antoni's system (though with picks), they don't really do the "7 seconds or less" thing and they don't shoot anywhere near enough 3's. Plus if that's really what their goal was then either Del Negro is an idiot for forcing a system that they know they're not suited for or Paxson is an idiot for not bringing in different players that can run the system (if they knew that was the system they were going with than yes, re-signing Deng was not smart). Either way it's a serious mess. Skiles at least got it to work with most of the same core for a while and they played better defense too. I'm more inclined to believe that Del Negro isn't quite sure what he wants to do or how to do it and that the players don't respect him at all than anything else. At this point, with our current players, there is no difference. I know offhand Del Harris, Bickerstaff, VDN, Skiles and Ron Adams all complained about the players' lack of understanding the playbook and Adams and Skiles main culprit for this was Noah as he never would be in the proper spot three seconds into the play. That's from the inside. Guys like Tyrus has taken more time to get a grasp on things as well as Thabo and they still don't understand it(though Tyrus and Thabo have attempted to learn it and are really putting in effort which is why management still doesn't want to let them go). The offense is supposed to be a more efficient version of D'Antoni's offense, but not the exact thing. For example, it's not necessarily SSOL, but it follows the same European style of spreading the floor our, and allowing a wide open lane for penetration. If the defense collapses, we're supposed to kick out for an open three, but just like D'Antoni's offense, there's certain spots players are supposed to be in at all times. Again, the players had a hard time learning the offense/sports, so VDN scrapped most of it. Now the pick and roll is supposed to be implemented as well, but it's supposed to be way more complex in terms of, there's supposed to be a ton more movement around the pick and roll, but again, the offense was dumbed down so that's not what you are seeing. All in all, it's supposed to be European offense with spots like D'Antoni runs with a little dribble drive motion mixed in. There's not supposed to be much posting up at all.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 05:52 PM) Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Thats all I see when "trying" to justify anything he has done. His team's time has passed and so has his. He should be gone after this season without a doubt. He is the worst GM in this town which says alot. The Bulls are losing fans, games and opportunities to start building a real time around a future star. When it comes down to it, Rock, you are correct and I wish to see him out of town. I wouldn't want to see the coach fired just yet though.
  20. I'll take Pie over Owens in CF, but then again, I would put myself in CF over Owens, but I don't know if I would sign him to this team. Ozzie is stuck on Owens it seems like and it's going to take a huge injury before he's gone.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) Yes, I do think Paxson tends to fall in love with players he drafted (and that's a bad quality to have for any GM). But I don't fault Paxson for not trading for KG or Kobe. With Kobe, I don't think he was ever leaving the Lakers. Even if there was a chance, we saw Kobe's teams, along with KG's in Minnesota, when they were surrounded by mediocre talent. It would've been the same situation here. I do think he should've made a move for Gasol in 2007. But didn't they want Deng? Funny how they settled for Kwame f***ing Brown a year later. Well not getting Pau was not Paxson's fault at all. Grizzlies simply wanted cap space and Heisley first offered Pau to the Bulls because he's from Chicago and wanted to help out the Bulls since they are in a different conference all-together anyway. Ownership said no because they did not want to pay for the luxury tax. For Kobe, Paxson didn't want to get rid of Kirk or Luol. He wanted the trade centered around Ben and Tyrus. Kobe himself didn't want Kirk here because he felt he would be too ball dominant, but he did want Luol here. In the end, Paxson took too much time and winning ended up resolving the Kobe issue. KG is one thing you could fault Paxson for. They wanted Luol, even salaries and some draft picks. I think Kirk and Ben would've been nice around KG. Paxson, however, did not want to give any of his precious core up, so that's why this deal wasn't made.
  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Right now I think Paxson's aim should be to clear as much cap-space in 2010 as possible, to try and sign either Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire to a max deal. Either of those 2 playing next to Derrick Rose would be an insane combo (Bosh especially with his shooting ability). I would go with Amare as he also has a jumper, and he's more explosive IMO. And Paxson does have a few trades on the table in which will allow them to go after a 2010 free agent. The reason he won't trade Hughes right now is because most of the deals want him to take a contract past 2010 which is worthless since Hughes contract doesn't.
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 11:51 AM) That's what annoys me, numerous people on this board realize that Deng floating out around the perimeter is a bad thing because he's not quick enough to consistently get to the basket from there nor a good enough shooter to hit the long 2-pointer regularly, and yet they still put him out there. What he can do is move well without the ball, finish when he does get around the basket (he's regularly been around 60% in the basket area) and hit a pretty good number of mid-range jumpers. Is it really that hard to set up a curl or pin-down for him once in a while? It's not like your other players are lighting it up with their current system, especially if Rose and/or Gordon is having a rough night. Well the thing is, VDN wants to run a more efficient D'Antoni offense. That's one big reason the offense looks so godawful outside of nights when Gordon and Rose are lighting it up. Deng is not suited at all for this and neither are any of our frontcourt players minus maybe Tyrus. You have to be able to hit a jumpshot, which again, Deng has not been able to do since 06/07, and/or have to be able to drive at will which Deng never has been able to do. Deng would be ideal in the Kings princeton offense of the Adelman days, or even Skiles' offense which calls for a ton of movement. Under a guy like VDN and even D'Antoni, Deng does not work whatsoever. His skillset isn't tailored for that. This is why I give VDN some slack. It's his first year and the players are in a completely different offense. The reason why a lot of the time, you don't see many plays called is because we have dumbarse players on this team, literally. VDN has stated they had to take alot of the plays and movement out of the offense because many of the players couldn't grasp it(I'm looking at you mainly Noah). And Skiles complained about it the year before too.
