Awesome Trade Idea
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) For the record, Contreras has been the only White Sox starting pitcher to be placed on the DL this year. I meant in terms of knowing what you're going to get out of him.

Riske..what you think
Would've like to seen him brought in with Tracey still up. And before you ask, I'm still bitter about that.

Nike Basketball Shoes
It's not just Nike shoes guys, alot of basketball shoes do that. I had a pair of T-Mac's that did the same thing and it annoyed the s*** out of me.

Awesome Trade Idea
F that. Contreras won't revert back to form. Contreras has the stuff, he's figured out how to pitch, he has a great catcher calling his game. And for god's sake, he's not 60 or even 40. And f*** Omar Vizquel. Contreras is our only sure thing this year in terms of pitching. The rest are not, yes that includes the prodigy that is Mark Buehrle. Deal BMac. Plus Conteras is pretty cheap for the way he plays. The Sox are in the business of trying to win the World Series again, not just making the playoffs. Without Contreras, there is no shot of a World Series.

Was Guillen Out Of Line Last Night?
QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) I think that Ozzie was out of line, but I'll say this: For anyone who's never been unfairly chewed-out by a moody boss before, welcome to the real world! It's not fair, but it happens all of the time. And it usually has nothing to do with you personally. Just let it go. Hopefully Tracey knows this. I thought most bosses will chew your ass out after meetings are over, not in front of the big cahunas(sp?).

Was Guillen Out Of Line Last Night?
Big time dissapointed. I think it was a complete b**** move by Ozzie and his excuse was even more pathetic.

Post game show?
After reading this thread I'm glad you guys set me straight. Our pitchers are in the business of hitting batters, not getting them out. Just like last year when we won the World Series! Look, I like bean wars as much as the next guy if not more, but to publicly humiliate a rookie reliever who actually is a pretty decent pitcher with great stuff and little control and who also delivered an out, makes no f***ing sense to me. This is one of the only times I'm going to have to disagree with Ozzie big time and the way he handled things.

Angled Seats .......... How does everyone feel about them?
I thought the whole reason why they didn't complete the color change for the seats was because they were going to reangle them.

Hitting Coach
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) Uribe doesn't need Hriniak, or anyone else. What he needs to do is listen to what he is being told, and try to implement it, instead of doing the same old thing. Its obvious they keep trying to fix Juan, but for whatever reason he doesn't make the adjustments. IIRC, that is the exact reason that Colorado had no problem with dumping him for Aaron Miles. Sure listened when he was told to implement a legkick pretty quickly.

Hitting Coach
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 07:02 PM) Isn't Greg Walker the one that everyone credits for Crede's turn around? That is what I have heard at least. Besides Uribe and Anderson, who is not hitting on this team anyway? This is the most ridiculous post I have seen yet. He's also the guy who f'd up Crede's swing in the first place IIRC. He's the one who tried to make his swing much more complex than it originally was on Crede's way up through the minors. Uribe also didn't spin himself out when he was doing the leg kick which Frank and Hriniak taught him late last season. I don't like Walker as a hitting coach. He preaches too much pulling and swinging for the fences IMO.

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
Lay off tigerfan. Unless he says, "f the sox", let him stick around. I don't see the problem. He's just as friendly as benchwarmerjim was.

Carl Crawford
Wood would not go in that deal. Hell, I remember them not wanting to give up Wood for Manny Ramirez. I don't see why they would give him up for a lesser player.

Carl Crawford
QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) It also could create a hole in the fifth starting spot for next year. I doubt Garland will be back. I'm pretty sure Garland wouldn't be dealt if McCarthy was traded. Therefore, how would McCarthy being traded be relevant?
