With MB starting ASG, will Garland be last?
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) They reported on the radio that Garland will pitch in the 5th or 6th inning Why 5th or 6th? He should be pitching right after Buehrle and Buehrle supposedly is going 2 innings.

Home run Juicer Derby
Abreu had several good things working for him. First, he had his personal pitcher that throws to him everyday in batting practice. He took lots of pitches so he wouldn't tire himself out too easily. He was hitting left handed in which the ball carries more to RF. Plus it took a long ass time between the first round and the final round. There was plenty of time and I mean plenty of time to get rest. Finally, the guy was locked in. You would think there would be a day in which people would be able to win something without being accused of steroids. If Mark Texeiria wins the AL HR crown, I'm calling foul play. That's seriously how stupid some of this stuff is.

answer me this...
I agree and I still have some worries. Well see though. We'll be tested. I think they said 4 of the AL's top 5 team ERA's come from the AL Central(White Sox, Cleveland, Minnesota & Detroit are in there I believe).

This is Garland's first ASG, I don't expect him not to play. He'll pitch an inning, probably the 2nd pitcher to be used in the game. If it wasn't his first, I think you could say he might not pitch. Garland wants to get in this game and I don't blame him.

I feel sorry for Bay. Getting a bunch of s*** from people.

It looks like he's doing it with such ease. Reminds me of Ken Griffey Jr. when he used to do them. Wow, just wow.

Abreu's my pick. Lol. It's always someone you don't expect(see Anderson 2003). I actually have money in a pool with my buddies with Abreu though. This guy is hitting bombs. He's probably going to hit one of those buildings across the street. He's putting on a clinic.

With MB starting ASG, will Garland be last?
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) I would think that Clement might be the last option. Oh never!!!!!!!!...he didn't really want to bring Bartolo because he wanted Clement. Kenny Rogers will be the last pitcher used if any. I think Terry probably will use all of them.

The Gooch
He needs to learn how to hit the curve or at least needs to learn how not to swing at it.

Pet Peeves
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) The most annoying sound to me is the sound of flip flops. I hate them and I hate their noise they make. Another pet peeve of mine. People who wear flip flops who shouldn't be.

Did Ozzie Leak It? He did!!!!
Congrats to Buehrle. Hopefully Garland is the next pitcher used and then Pods scores the winning run after stealing 2nd, 3rd, and home.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) I hate that Nuke! I have a few. Number 1 by far is unknowledgable people who think they know what the f*** they are talking about. 2 is complainers. 3 is when someone comes into my room without knocking. 4 is when they don't close the door on the way out. I definately agree with 3 and 4. s*** I agree with the first 2 as well. But 3 and 4 definately. I really hate 4 considering I sleep in the basement and if the door isn't closed, it drowns out the sound from my tv unless I put it super loud.

I love it how Toyota doesn't f around. They don't like something and they'll fix it. That's how you become quality.

They should get him something. Especially the pitching staff. The guy has been a godsend. I just want to see him knee Torii Hunter in the nuts.

Larry Hughes
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) I personally liked his chances better with Washington than Cleveland. Leaving Jamison and Arenas might end up being a bad move, we'll see though. As far as the better team it depends. Arenas is known to be a ball hog and Jamison is known to be a guy who on some nights will drop 30 and other nights will drop 14 with a lot of shot attempts. Jamison is also kind of slow for a SF and Arenas can't play D at all. Basically it gets down to Hughes & Lebron vs Arenas & Jamison. I'd take my chances with Hughes and LeBron since I'm pretty sure Hughes could shut down Arenas and LeBron would do more than Jamison. Also, keep in mind Cleveland still has money to play with to get another near max guy. They're looking at Dalembert, Curry, Chandler, Kwame, Swift and a couple of other guys.

Is Freddy a stopper?
On ESPN, they made me realize something. IIRC, they said something like we are last in total hits. That's sad. Even if Mark mowed them down, 1 run is not enough in 9 out of 10 games you play. Offense needs to pick it up. I suggest dropping PK in the order. Uribe is still kind of in a funk. I think you'll see the usual 3 or 2 runs given up by FG. The question: is the offense going to give him run support?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) BEST.PROMO.EVAR! I think the adult audience would love that. A lot more people would show up simply because she is 100X's hotter than Mia Hamm.

Larry Hughes
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Hughes got the award because of his steals, period. He's not a good defender at all, in fact him making first team all defense was like Jeter winning a gold glove last year. A lot of these awards mean nothing, absolutely nothing. He is a pretty good defender. He did not get it because of steals alone. If that was the case, Jamal Crawford would've made the All NBA Defensive Team the year before last. Hughes is a pretty good defender and that's why he got the award, not because he led the league in steals. Hell, I think Jim Jackson led the league in steals in 99 and didn't get on the All NBA Defensive Team. To say it was just his steals is ludicrous.
