  1. Told people Jackson has the stuff of a legit ace, and he just needed a legit pitching coach to get him through. He's back with one and he'll do great.
  2. So is there more to the story, or was it a matter of numbers?
  3. Wasn't Kane also Nailz? The escaped prison inmate.
  4. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 08:58 AM) Somebody has to do it. Plus it pays the bills. I'm interested in where you started working to gain experience. Even internships. It's tough trying to break through and I'm graduating next year for Database Management. I love doing other things in IT and IS, but DM has a lot of programming and I also want to dabble in programming if I want to do other things that are closely related.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) Directtv's responsiveness has gotten signficantly better. It used to be horrilbe but it is significantly faster than before. In general, I really like my Direct DVR. Been the best DVR I've had. Comcast is horrific though. I'd still rate it 2nd to last. I forgot to include ATT in there. It's probably in the middle, but I love their box overall. Too bad their On Demand is horrific. In fact, that's all Comcast has going for them.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) Im sorry should have clarified, he came over from WCW at the merger and has never left the company. Untechnically, technically, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Actually, Rey Mysterio Jr.
  7. If the Sox make the playoffs, then they will have a blackout.
  8. I know for a fact Comcast receivers are not very responsive. Probably the least responsive receivers on the market. DirecTV has the second worst in terms of responsiveness. They always freeze up, but in terms of GUI, they're one of the best. WOW has great response, Dish Network is best though overall. Anyway, from what I've heard, the support for Tivo's from Comcast are pretty lacking as they always try to sell you on the fact you won't have OnDemand and if it breaks, it's not on them. Also, from reading TIVO forums, they think TIVO's are a dying investment as so many other companies already offer to lease DVR's.
  9. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) It's a long standing problem in IT from the point of view of the college graduate (is what I meant), especially in my area. I work with firewalls and perimeter security, and getting into this area of focus was pure luck as I had no prior experience with firewalls. Nobody will even think about hiring a security engineer without experience, and there are no "junior" level security positions...at least there have been none of them at any company I've ever worked for...and being able to get experience is next to impossible unless someone decides to teach you. I don't necessarily disagree with it, it is what it is...experience trumps education. But that said, it's a problem for college graduates in the IT industry...because it's one of the few industries that really doesn't care about college degrees...and it never really has. Counter example, you'll never meet a dentist, doctor, chemist, etc...without a college degree. For someone like me, it blows because I find it really hard to breakthrough the IT industry. Really really hard. That and Information Systems.
  10. If the Sox start off hot, they will runaway from the division.
  11. Meh, I agree on the pizza. It was a very poor man's version of Connies. I found that to be true anywhere. Unless you are actually at Connies, the pizza is awful.
  12. I love heel Punk, but ever since the Undertaker debacle, they've given him terrible storylines or have turned them terrible. Instead of Punk vs Orton at Mania, why not Punk and Barrett? Why even split up Nexxus? Why not have them get every title out there like a true nWo, but young. Seriously, the E needs to do away with the Nexxus/Corre storyline as they miffed on it several times over. Punk needs to be in the title picture.
  13. If Chrome had noscript and adblock plus, I'd be all over it. It doesn't though, unfortunately which is a no go for me.
  14. BTW, TBoGT was great if you loved San Andreas. Vice City was my favorite, with SA being second. This was third, but was done extremely well. Only thing is, you could only spend your cash on very limited things, which stunk.
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Funny, that was how I felt about RDR. While it was more original and had a great atmosphere, like 60% of the missions were of the "kill all of the bad guys in this hideout" variety, another 20% were "get from point A to point B running from the bad guys" variety, a couple of protect/rob this train missions (those were my favorite) and the rest were rather mundane ranching/tutorial type missions. Sure, GTA has most of the same mechanics, but I felt like they mixed it up better. Instead of everything being "walk into this area and kill everyone," you might have to chase a guy to get to the main conflict, or maybe you have to escape from the bad guys/cops after it's over. It helped break up the cover, shoot, move forward, repeat pattern a bit more. I'm the same Zoom. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt rather bored by Red Dead Redemption. Honestly, I didn't make it past the beginning tutorial missions. I prefer GTA much much more. I can't wait until LA Noire though. I've been waiting for like 3 years.
  16. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) Even the Rock has been a case of diminishing returns since that first promo. That's because the WWE has limited what he can say since he was last in the E. It's a whole different ballgame unfortunately.
  17. As a Reds fan, he will drive you nuts at times with his K's. I fully expect several threads on how much of a mistake he is. Overall though, his production is great. It stinks that he K's that much, but his overall numbers more than make up for it. Teams fear him and when they don't, they usually get burned. For the price the Sox signed him to, that makes it a wonderful signing. The good thing is, he won't ground into many double plays
  18. Apparently, Coop liked Peavy's explosive arm more than Buehrle's or Danks or anyone else on the staff. I like that, until that explosiveness blew up his arm. Honestly, I think the sox are going to wait until Peavy's 100%, then wait another 2 months after that to make sure he is.
  19. NBA League Pass needs to be added. I wish one of these devices would allow you to receive cable channels over the internet a la carte. Like HBO and ESPN and CSN are all I need from a cable provider.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) They may not talk to your manager, they may ask to talk with HR. Which is what happens most time. Nowadays, it's done through fax too, so you'll never know.
