I think wrestling is done too. For those going, Rock will be on the Raw right before Wrestlemania here in Chicago. -
Good advice on the last page. I've found it utterly hard to even get an internship or temp job though. No one will look at me, even Best Buy. I think that's because I'm trying to jump into a field where I don't have work experience/certs, but I do have schooling in and will graduate in Feb of next year. What makes it worse is that friends with no experience in my field, who self taught and also did not receive formal schooling(also don't have certs) are finding IT jobs/CIS jobs. It stinks. =[

QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) I kind of thought that WAS what the players wanted... no 18 game season, not to be gouged by the owners, and nobody disagreed on the rookie pay scale thing with rookies who've never done s*** making more than half the Pro Bowl squad, and the first 3 picks being a curse. But then we have this no-releasing-finances thing... sigh Bingo. I think the owners have done more than enough compromising. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) I disagree with this draft being anything worse than average. I think it compares very favorably to last years class. 2010: Wall Turner Favors Johnson Cousins Udoh Aminu Monroe Hayward 2011: Barnes Irving Kanter Derrick Williams Sullinger Perry Jones Motiejunas Vesely Terrance Jones Wall is clearly the best player from either class coming out, but from there I think you would be hard pressed to say the 2010 class has more long-term potential than the 2011 class if many of these freshman come out. Others like Kemba Walker, Alec Burks, Tristan Thompson, Jordan Hamilton, Brandon Knight etc could easily be on the list. They will be long-time NBA players. I think the main gripe is that you only have one legit PG and one legit C prospect that seem to be future all-stars in Irving, and Kanter. However, the 2,3, and 4 positions seem to be well stocked. I haven't seen the foreign guys play, but it seems Jonas Valanciunas would be a legit center if he came out as well. We strongly strongly disagree then. 7 of the 10 in last year's class have all-star potential. 5 of them have superstar potential. This year's class, Irving IMHO is the only one who looks like he can be a perennial all-star, but I don't see him as a superstar. Barnes I don't think is that stud guy people made him out to be, just like with a lot of recent UNC recruits. We don't know much about Kanter. The rest on that list are meh, and yes, that includes Sullinger who I think will be a 17/9 player at max potential. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) I tend to think this looks like a draft with a lot of role players and not much else. I disagree, it is more like 2000's draft. There's only about 3 prospects who have a chance at being all-stars, and even then, they probably won't. This draft is going to be awful. -

To me it sounded decent to. It said the offer included splitting the difference in the dispute over how much money owners should be given off the top of the league's revenues. Under the expiring CBA, the owners immediately got about $1 billion before dividing the remainder with the players; the owners originally were asking to roughly double that by getting an additional $1 billion up front. Also in the NFL's offer, according to the league: -- Maintaining the 16 regular-season games and four preseason games for at least two years, with any changes negotiable. -- Instituting a rookie wage scale through which money saved would be paid to veterans and retired players. -- Creating new year-round health and safety rules. -- Establishing a fund for retired players, with $82 million contributed by the owners over the next two years. -
Didn't the same happen with Boston and Papelbon? Wasn't he originally supposed to be a starter, but they turned him into a closer. They tried to make him a starter one year, he struggled out of the gate and bam, it was closing from there on in? I fear the same might happen with Sale. For this year alone, I would love for Sale to be the closer and Thornton to be long relief. I think the exact opposite will happen.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 6, 2011 -> 11:26 AM) Thanks for the reply, Nite. I was actually thinking of that plan from Sprint, but it's currently my plan B because I really don't want to pay that much per month. $69.99 is pushing it for me, unless the discounts ends up lowering the monthly payment to a more comfortable rate such as around $50 a month or so. While it's nice that there's a lot of minutes, it's more than I really need because I rarely make phone calls. I was hoping there was a phone plan out there somewhere where I can give up calling minutes for a lower rate while still having unlimited data for texts and internet. I just wish there were more customizable plans out there where I can get just 100 minutes and pay $20 less a month or so. 99% of the time I'm always using the internet, texts, and aim on my phone. I'd probably say, your best bet would be pre-paid or getting a device that depends on Wi-Fi or get a tablet and use that. Get Google Voice and you can make your phone calls using that.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) Who are you picking for Heat/LAL tonight? I will go with Heat in a close one, almost just because at some point the talent of Wade and LBJ will win out, not scientific obviously. Funny part will be if it is tonight or next week, when Heat win I'm sure they will be dancing all around and ESPN will declare them "fixed", just like when Tiger has a good round. I think Heat will win. The Lakers don't play strong team defense which is where the Heat struggle. Most of the Heat guys can take the Lakers off the dribble. Where the Heat struggle is teams that play good team D. ESPN will open with them winning, asking whether they are now fixed, and the answer will still be "let's wait and see".

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) Does Michigan State not care anymore? Only up 2 at half on Iowa. Unless they make it to semi's, I don't think they should make the tourney. Don't care about SOS and RPI. They just aren't good enough. They don't. Neither does Illinois unless they make the championship game. -
Sprint's Unlimited plan for $69.99 would be good for you. If you do electronic billing, you get a $5.00 credit and for most companies, they have a discount. I get 27%. If you're a student, you can probably search student discount, Sprint on the web and find something. Either way, you'll get Unlimited Data and a whole lot of minutes.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 5, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) Pretty much what I expected from this frustrating senior class. In their last home game, they come out and absolutely dominate and show what could have been if they always showed this much effort. Illinois gets the MSU/UM winner in the 4/5 game on Friday. Win and they are definitely in the tourney, lose and its gonna be another nervous Selection Sunday. Honestly, I think they need more than winning today and against MSU/UM winner. -
The problem with the Heat is the fact that Wade and LeBron refuse to play sacrifice Alpha Dog status for the other. You can see, despite as much as I despise Bosh, he's trying to make it work. And Wade is also trying to set him up and vice versa. LeBron is basically running that team and both Wade and Bosh will get the rock when they get it. Bosh has a passive personality, while Wade seems to be getting more and more upset. When you have 3 star players and 2 stud players, there has to be a lot of give and take because the rest of the team is so weak. It really does depend on one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if Wade jacks up 30 shots tomorrow to remind LeBron who's team it is. The worst thing about the Heat is that they don't run any plays, especially in crunch time. They literally go ISO which ends up with Bron creating a shot for someone who shouldn't be shooting in that situation. Many times he gets them open, but it's because many teams know they can layoff the player he passes it to because the Heat are not putting that player in a position to succeed. Such as when they have Bosh take 26 foot threes. What they should be doing is executing plays, especially when it's crunch time because not only does the opposition worry about leaving someone open off a screen or pick, but they also don't know who's going to take the shot. It could be Wade initiating, hitting LeBron at the high post who lobs it up for a backdoor cut by Wade or Bosh. Until Wade and LeBron are ready to sacrifice for each other and the team, it's going to be tough. No coach can succeed in that environment. They literally need a Phil Jackson type of coach.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 02:05 PM) Going to the movie store is just plain fun IMO. People are going to watch old movies where they go to video stores and wonder what the hell these people are doing. I guess I am going down the path of the Roku box (since Boxee failed me) and getting netflix, Hulu plus and Amazon. A PS3 will let you have those, minus Amazon, but plus Vudu(which you get one HD free movie trial without going through hoola hoops and their titles are released they day they are at the stores) and mlb.tv if you use that service. Plus it's a Blu Ray player. I know the Blockbuster you're talking about too. Seemed to be a good spot. I can't believe all these video stores are being replaced by machines.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) Corey Brewer's offense has been a black hole since...oh I don't know...his first year in the NBA. He has a career TS% of .436. He could be a good defender given his size, but the Bulls already have one of those in Ronnie Brewer. Yeah, Brewer is basically a waste of time. He's a very poor man's version of our current Brewer. Rasual is repitive as well.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) Someone will figure out a way around this...and when they do, I'll be sold. You can stream it through your PS3 as well. I thought it was based on your IP address, not credit card information. If it was, couldn't you just change your credit card information to a PO box in another state?

In baseball, I agree. 1 player is not going to turn around your team. In basketball that's true. You are better off splitting 30 million into two or three players than spending it on one. -

2/21/11 promo was god awful. I don't understand why the special hype for this one. And then no words? We all know HHH is going to lose and it will be pointless. It will be more boring than those Kane vs Undertaker WM matches. -
Didn't think you guys would be that interested in trade talk. Mayo would benefit the Bulls more than Asik or Gibson would. At the same time, I can see why the Bulls didn't do it. They want big man depth because that's how you beat the Heat.
