Btw, didn't Oz already say Dunn is batting 3rd?
-
Ohman will be our new Linebrink. I'm rooting for the guy and definitely hope he proves me wrong, but I think Oz/Coop will misuse him out of the bullpen.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) Smart move. I was thinking the same thing. I was contemplating the switch until I heard it was still CDMA. I was thinking the same thing for VZW customers who are ready to get this iPhone. Might as well wait since you have to keep the phone for two years. It better be running optimally.

To me, Stacey King, Bob Costas, Marv Albert and Jon Miller for the way he says Uribe are the personal favorites. Everyone else can bow down.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 12, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Video has gone viral. Pretty comical those students made that on their own. The girls that attend that school.... They don't beat Oregon's cheerleaders though. -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 12, 2011 -> 01:11 AM) Lebron is too stupid to realize what he just did. He calls out gilbert in that tweet, but by tweeting that he's doing the same thing Gilbert did to him. He's ridiculous. He believes nothing applies to him, just everyone else living in HIS world. Gilbert was a baby when LeBron left, but there's a good reason for that, and it's LeBron James. I'm glad Riley is finally turning him into a man though. Restricted access for his friends. Standing by Spoelstra, and letting LeBron know who runs the show. Jemele Hill on ESPN made a great point on First Take. She said LeBron, if he wants to play the villain role, needs to pick better targets. He's always picking on people who are already down. Anthony Tolliver, the Cleveland Cavaliers, DeShawn Stevenson and people like that.

King is awesome. "I Wanna Go Higher...whooooooooo!!!!!!" "Stop it, stop it!" "He took the elevator and went straight to the penthouse!" "Where's my poster machine?!"

Never go the need for both Data and Talk working at the same time. For the VZW iPhone, it does with WiFi. Either way, VZW screwed customers two ways in this. One, they're getting a crippled iPhone. So once the improvement comes out in 10 months to a year, people who couldn't wait won't be able to get a new one until 2 years after the fact. For anyone planning on upgrading with New Every 2 can't since they're ending that program January 16th or so. This is a move strictly to take away ATT subscribers. Last, but not least, those who got Droids for VZW and bought into their hype as iPhone killers. I'm glad with Sprint now though. Got my rooted Evo, and a hell of a plan and bill.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) That was kinda my point. The whole Decision thing and that entire circus and all the full-blown retarded things he's said this year are unforgivable. But he was going to get hate no matter what he did outside of staying in Cleveland. He should've been 'loyal' is what so many had said. Yes, we knew the Cavs would take a big hit. But we're lookin' at 65 losses or so. That is mind-blowing that one player meant THAT much. The Bulls certainly didn't fall apart when MJ left the first time. The Lakers were still a playoff team for the next two years after Magic retired. The Celtics made the playoffs the year after Bird retired. This is a truly historic collapse. At the same time though, the front office made front office decisions when Jordan was around. With Cleveland, LeBron ran the show including the front office.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) What will it take to get Bogans out of the starting line up? OJ Mayo.... ...or Bogans getting traded, waived, or Thibs being fired as coach.

BTW, I think TCU would have had a good shot at beating Oregon or Auburn. Split National Title? I could only wish. So go Ducks! -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) It is pretty amazing to me that they're the worst team in a terrible eastern conference. Obviously they were going to be bad, but I didn't think they'd be worse than teams like Toronto, Washington and Detroit. Mo Williams has just been awful, he hasn't shot this poorly since his rookie year. Jamison, a guy that has thrived in the past taking more shots than he should and playing no defense, has been mediocre at best. Hickson, the guy that was supposed to be their main hope for the future, has been well below average. They have pretty much no assets and can't even pray for luck from the lottery gods because this draft is looking pretty pathetic so far. Yeah, it was easy to see they were the suck. They probably wouldn't be as bad if LeBron were on the team and just injured because he gave them confidence. At the same time, if you didn't think this was a bad team, I don't know what to tell you. I don't hate or blame LeBron for leaving. I do dislike the fashion he did it in though.
-
Garza doesn't make sense for them right now unless they re-sign him. They really need to do fullscale rebuilding for one year, get rid of all their bad contracts, get comp picks, then rebuild through draft(go over slot for good players, not hypemen) and FA. Ricketts is not that poor.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) There is one easy question... Who is the last college coach to be successful at the NFL level? Pete Carroll Honestly, I think Saban would've if he gave it more time. He was impatient though. Can't really think of anyone else. Usually successful ones are good in the NFL first, then go to college. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) Stick with being a database admin, theres alot of money in that for you if you stay with it. Help desk positions arent as stable since alot of people are farming out level 1 support. Keep me posted on when you are done, I may be able to at least steer you in the right direction. I know there are a few other IT people on here. Gotcha. Any idea on what positions I should be applying for. Many people I know stated I should get my foot in the door on the IT or IS side first, even if it's help desk, then work up from there. I've looked for junior DBA jobs, but it seems like they require experience as well. I guess, I should just keep applying and go from there.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) I'm not sure if this holds true with the IT department, but just apply for what you think you are capable of doing. It won't hurt. These employers seem to want Einstein and Werner Von Braun working for them, so they put all these qualifications and what not on their job descriptions. Find out what is customary in your industry in terms of schooling, certifications, experience, etc., but don't be afraid to apply! Yeah, I hear you. I guess I'm kind of down because I applied through IBM for two separate internships that I thought fit me perfectly and was rejected after the first round. And I've been told by several people my resume and cover letter are top notch. Some even stole my format and already have got jobs, albeit in different industries.
-
Kind of related, kind of not. Didn't want to make a new thread, but if there needs to be one, please help mods. Anyway, I'm looking to break into the IT/IS industry. I'm currently going to school(only one more year left) for Computer Information Systems with a concentration on Database Management. The thing is, it's tough to break into the industry. I've been looking for a job in IT/IS for awhile and even help desks position request 2-3 years experience for Level 1 support. Anyone got any good tips?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) I've been told by a very reliable person that the Verizon Iphone could be available in stores as soon as Feb 1. I think it'll be January 16th/17th. One of those days is the day Verizon no longer accepts New Every 2 upgrades. The only way to get an upgrade is by waiting 20 months even if you're primary. I believe this is to get everyone who is eligible for an early upgrade(usually if you're through the first 8-12 months of your contract, you're eligible for an upgrade if you're primary as long as you're current). That way they won't have a mass rush of people trying to get an iPhone. Also, on January 17th, Apple is making it a mandatory workday. No vacations or personal days off. Usually that only happens when they release an iPhone. Even more proof, iPhone 3GS phones for ATT are now on sale for $50.00

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Miz vs Morrison was really good tonight. I like Orton but in his short range, Miz is the most interesting champion the WWE has had in awhile. Definitely a good match. It was PPV quality. WWE seems backwards though. Why have Morrizon win #1 contender's match on PPV, to only have the championship match on cable tv. And the WWE really messed up with Nexus. Should've had Punk help Barrett. That would've been 20 times more interesting. Now Wade will turn into a face on Smackdown. We need the originaly Nexus back. Tarver, Skip, all of them. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) To be he's actually not. He isn't overly athletic. He gets by on technical skills and smarts rather than athleticism. Most guys that are one-and-done players are really athletic. I think he won't be as immediate an impact freshman as people think. Yeah, cerebral players really aren't one and done unless they could jump out the gym or outrun a cheetah. For a guy like Jabari, he'll take a year or two to get used to the game, dominate, then go pro. Think of guys like James Harden and Brandon Roy. -

With the whole CBA thing looming, it's a pretty easy decision for him. Only reason I think Cam is leaving is because he has to. BTW, I know it's about a week late, but GO TCU! Told you they could play with anyone in the country. -
Scott Pilgrim flat out sucked, period. I don't get the hype. I guess if I was out of it I would like it. I wasn't and the movie was just not fun or engaging at all to me.
