Honestly this is best case scenario. We didn't trade anything, we made our intention known, and if being with another team did matter to sign long-term, no other team is getting the chance.

I don't necessarily care about these kids being workout warriors to get an edge, but while they are navigating these age 19-22 years, I'd much rather them be a workout warrior than not taking their diet or offseason as seriously.

Bruce Levine piping in has me more confident than ever this deal is dead. Sorry but last week we heard they had deals good enough to bring to ownership, and it didn’t happen. Now they are still waiting for a deal they like? It ain’t happening, this thing is dead. At least from White Sox perspective.

DVOA is, imo, the best team metrics. edit: I'm not advocating Capers is great, but the Fangio love has been misplaced. Fangio is really good at red zone scoring defense. But a lot of drives end up in the red zone, our drive success rate is like 19th or 20th. It obviously does what Fox loves, which is let the opponents do long ass drives that end up in a field goal so despite being dominated we have a chance to win at the end, but this has been an average defense and I don't buy the talent being low on our defense.

I don't understand the Fangio love. I know many feel bears overperformed, but I really liked that defense this year. They are, at best, exactly where they should be. They haven't overperformed with Fangio once. There was actually quite a bit of talent on our defense, especially up front. And they are fine.

I know I talk crap about Luis Roberts IG feed a lot but good lord at least we don’t have to worry about him reporting overweight. Dude is ripped.

I think the type of team that would make most sense would be a team like the Nationals, consistently there, window about to be closing, one last push to make a WS. But, obviously they aren't and their roster doesn't make sense. The cards are the other team that could make sense, but they clearly still see their team and roles as one that is consistently competitive and aren't going to risk it. The Yankees aren't in that mold but make sense in that they were nearly a WS team last year and expect to bid on his services the year thereafter. So, again, I think it sucks for the orioles market right now because it's a bunch of teams that are basically telling the orioles that his 2018 production means nothing to them so they aren't going to pay that much for it.
