  1. The best thing people can say about glennon is that not everything is his fault.
  2. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) Mike Glennon is a terrible QB. So we can't play Trubisky because we wouldn't play full playbook. Is this...is this the full playbook?
  3. Uhh do people really want Matt Patricia as head coach?
  4. QUOTE (zisk @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 12:47 PM) I know what you mean but getting a guy like Singer might not be that bad. It looks like he might be the fastest guy in the draft to contribute at the maj- or league level and so far he has been healthy and not over used. Certainly not. But weve had oppo to draft elite college pitcher before, but have missed out on the elite prep bats.
  5. I've never seen my wife so infuriated at a play. I mean that's the worst, most showboating move I've ever seen. All other examples of that the player is still running but starts to be loose with ball to celebrate. I've never seen a player slow at the 5 and stop at the 1. Unreal stupid. You think nobody was chasing you?
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 12:17 AM) I'd like to see more of Frye and Bummer next year. Considering how few lefties are in system, I think that's assured.
  7. I just know we'll fall in love with picks 1-4 and draft like Singer at 4 and everyone will be kinda bummed.
  8. Gar on phone: "Do you have anyone else like Cameron Payne?"
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 04:34 PM) I don't think I ever said that you need to get someone to blow you away, I said something about "Fair value" for him. I'm not expecting to get blown away by the return for him. I'm hoping we can get someone with a decent chance of being useful in a few years. I'd take that for Garcia. If we wanted to keep him while competitive it will cost us a ton of money, and if we're going to spend that money there will be plenty of options to take it. We don't need whatever Garcia is going to produce next year or likely in 2019, and another team could use that. Avi will cost us a ton of money but also corner outfielders are cheap
  10. QUOTE (Quin @ Sep 23, 2017 -> 03:54 AM) Wasn't it removed because it provided an injury risk? Pssshhh more than a wall?
  11. This team just seems to love playing together and it's fun to watch. May not mean anything, I had same feeling in 14 when Moises sierra was on team. But breath of fresh air after all the drama last year.
  12. This was really good, read it the other day.
  13. Benetti >>>>>> soxtalk posts about Benetti
  14. I kinda liked the hill. Baseball fields are too samey now.
  15. quite a purge in ATL and HOU. Wondering if the statcast data proved effective enough that they just need more analysts and less scouts.
  16. Hmm, I hate preller. Jon Heyman‏Verified account @JonHeyman Following More padres hired john martin, the scout who signed machado, mccullers, the tucker bros. & was 1 of many let go recently by the Astros
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 10:04 AM) Another solid primer https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/21/heres-what-...e-sec-hack.html This was better. Thanks.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 09:48 AM) A little background on these guys: Tim Bittner was drafted by the White Sox in 2001 and traded to LAA for Scott Schoenweis. He was the Astros Northeast Area Scout and signed guys like Tyler White and Derek Fisher. John Tumminia was his signing scout with the Sox so there is some familiarity. I think he's on as the Northeast Cross Checker with Sox. Juan Alvarez: Former major league pitcher. He was the South Florida Area Scout and Latin America cross checker for the Indians. He was the signing scout for recent draftee and top prospect Tristan Mckenzie. I like all of those names.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 09:22 AM) Material Non-Public Information is a HUGE requirement of the SEC's and could be disastrous to pretty much any industry or company in the wrong hands at the wrong time. I'm confused by this: "The system that was breached, known as EDGAR, is a popular way for investors to access the detailed financial reports companies that sell stock to the public must periodically release. It had a “software vulnerability” that was “exploited and resulted in access to nonpublic information,” Clayton said in the statement." That last sentence. 1) Did they access info that was TO BE RELEASED but not yet released 2) Why would they use the same system for public and non public info?
  20. Man is this article hard to read: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/fix-th..._n_3254158.html Oh, 2013. Magical times. "There was even someone dressed up like a giant can with the words “The Can Kicks Back” — the motto for Fix the Debt’s millennial arm." "The event was organized through a local dance group, and participants received a $65 stipend. Individuals — many of them college students — told The Huffington Post they heard about it on CraigsList, ads on entertainment websites and through their modeling agency." "Most of the flash mob participants who spoke with The Huffington Post on Friday seemed to be there more for the stipend than the cause, although Amber Lee Brown, a student at George Mason University, said she went to the group’s website and liked what she read. “They actually want to fix the problem, not argue against each other,” she said."
  21. What's that DC debt group that is "non-partisan" but only shows up when Dems are in office?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) The link to the article is dead tho. Dan Hayes‏Verified account @CSNHayes 2h2 hours ago #WhiteSox named scouts from Astros, Indians to amateur cross checking positions. Saw this. Was hoping we'd make a run on the astro scouts that were let go.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 09:08 AM) This is so much bigger than the Equifax hack, but is getting so much less publicity. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/busines...m=.e0dc5d9c955b Curious, why do you think it's bigger? Just undermining confidence in the integrity of the market? Equifax was felt so broadly, and we know that information could end up hurting a whole bunch of people through identity theft. The tangible acts of profiting off illegal info seems like it would affect a much more narrow group.
