Moncada to get MRI
I would imagine the white sox time lost to the DL is not even top 10.

A Star* is Born
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) Who the hell cares what McKinney does? Addison Russell was the prize in that trade and he helped them win a 'chip. This not aimed at you, mags. Yeah, I was just responding to this: 2: Billy McKinney -- not even in the majors?? People forget how young McKinney is since he has moved twice and hasn't played yet. He's a bit like Gio Gonzalez, probably not as good in majors.

A Star* is Born
Billy McKinney just turned 23 two days ago and has been destroying AAA. I wouldn't really hold him not being in the majors yet against him.

Josue Guerrerro was 4-4 with a double. Nice for him to get a good day before the season ends.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) Her biggest flaw was her name. If she was named Jackie Smith, or even Belinda FartKnocker, she would have won. But Hillary Clinton has such a negative connotation, it was the final nail in the coffin. If her name was Jackie Smith, she also probably wouldn't have won. That name carried a lot of built in electorate especially in the southern primaries.

I'm pretty happy with that development tbh.

Organizational changes
Fry has to be feeling fortunate that despite 2 tommy johns he is still a left handed pitcher in an org with ample MLB playing time and bereft of LH pitching.

Organizational changes
So with Fulmer, if you aren't as concerned about keeping him in games longer, do you let him go back to his older more violent mechanics? Or was that also to help him get more control (which seems to have failed)

08/23 Games
When AZL ends I'll put a final update on the 2016 INTL guys, but hats off to lenyn sosa. 2-3 with a 3b, BB and a K last night. He's 17 in AZL and here is his line: .278 / .340 / .357 12 BB : 17 Ks in 138 PAs. That's an 8.7% walk rate and 12% K rate. Excellent year to grow on. If power comes along the next 3 years without sacrificing too much contact, this could be a player. He's 6'0 / 180, so I doubt he'll ever be a prolific HR guy but certainly some room to grow you'd think.

Giolito named starter for Tuesday
Yeah, that piece what comes to mind is I'm not gonna give up on him. Screams of a guy who figures out the one trick to keep his body right and become great. I did not see the slider he spoke of but I know he was working on a cutter.

Delmonico overcame adderall addiction
Finally read this story. We hear "the bad" when it comes to sox lack of turnover and excessive loyalty, and those concerns are warranted, but I can't help but feel like here is "the good". The sox signing him, giving him the time off he needed, but also Tommy Thompson visiting him and giving care to basically a minor league free agent...that's nice to see and hear from the organization you give money to.

Delmonico promoted to big league club
It's impossible for me to believe Engel has been not good in CF. He seems to have been covering for subpar players to his left and right and gotten everything hit over his head.

zach collins
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) There is also an argument that a catcher has little to do with the pitch framing and it has much more to do with the types of pitchers that they handle - guys like Sale make their catchers worse with the movement of their pitches - and the size of the catchers. I have read that taller catchers are naturally worse pitch framers because they obstruct the view of the umpire sooner than smaller catchers. BP has accounted for pitcher though in their framing statistics since 2015 I believe. But with Collins its certainly anecdotal as we don't ahve much to go on aside from in person scouting. He clearly seems stiff. But I'm not writing him off yet.

2017 Democratic Thread
And Chicago is one of the better markets! Big trend in chicago was people buying multi-family and converting to single family in growing/emerging neighborhoods. This then put a good market to condos to be built. But literally nothing brings out people more than "luxury" condos being built. But chicago lost a lot of inventory to conversions that had to be recreated somewhere. The US has a severe housing shortage issue.

Giolito named starter for Tuesday
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) I think when he threw those first couple of curves 2 feet in front of the plate, he decided it wasn't happening. Unfortunate but maybe he was just too jacked up I think this is right, paired with really not wanting to fall behind hitters possibly. He may have decided it was more imporant to throw strikes with a fastball then risk falling behind trying to get the curve over. His change was really working to me though, I was surprised he didn't go to that more in the 5-6th.
