  1. It looks like Benintendis biggest weakness is covering left-center, so you’d hope if we get a dynamic Robert again he could mitigate that. He’s fine/strong to his right, front, back since leaving bostons LF
  2. Im still kinda hoping for a Hendriks-Gleybar Torres trade, use savings toward Profar/Duvall as our placeholder/backup OF
  3. Kinda sad here. He was our one infielder I felt confident we’d get good defense across third/short/second. Leury has always been bizarrely bad at second.
  4. Sheesh mets should ask for cease too if they have to give up McCann AND Escobar
  5. lol I love rumors with New York fans. Truly the best.
  6. Right that’s the question. Otherwise I like Calvin Ziegler too
  7. Man outside their top two I do not like the mets prospects
  8. Lmao doing a straight salary dump hahahaha
  9. Avila was basically Rick Hahn with a real owner.
  10. An interesting garbage bin guy to ask about is Schoop. I don't really understand what led to the absolutely bonkers-good defensive year last year, but he's clearly good to very good most years at 2b. He's also a good club house guy. The tigers are rebuilding, they don't need a vet at 2b for a 7 mill year like Avila. Obviously from a optics standpoint, collecting another member of the "historically bad offensively in 2022" club may not be popular. It is hard to believe how big that drop off was. But he had a babip go down to .230 from a guy typically at Tim Anderson levels of BABIP. His hard hit profile was fine, his medium hit was also fine. Anyway i'm sorry.
  11. I keep reading this and picking up new nuggets. I do think the BA guys are right, I really have expectations that come the draft in mid-july we are talking about a system suddenly strong in some high end pitching. It is also a real defining year for rodriguez/sosa/romy/perez to show they can sustain some of this success at higher levels with more scrutiny. I really do like Shirley as a drafter, but we still know nothing. I do think he drafts guys that can hold prospect value longer for trades, which while Hostetler at times got us that depth, so many of his picks were considered maxed out by the time they hit A ball.
  12. I think that's a good bet re: segura.
  13. yeah I don't think the giants are a good fit for anything related to near term success.
  14. Trade hendriks to mets for baty, escobar, mccann Flip baty, send to mets with escobar 1/2 salary for McNeil
  15. Back injuries are brutal, sounds like Grandal was doing what he could. Now he's working hard to try to get back and avoid surgery (because listen to steve kerr). I'm rooting for him, wish others tried as hard.
  16. forgot he was left handed! I think I mix that up because of Cespedes.
  17. I mean, you could just as easily trade down once, then trade up into the late first. Baltimore/pats always willing (rams may be willing to accrue picks too if you want two hops).
  18. Baty may not be a plug in play guy in 2022. But at that point you have a top 25 prospect to do what you will. Either you suddenly have a pair of "left handed savages" to fit @SoCalChiSox's dreams in Colson and Baty, or a headliner to go after a Marte/Chisholm with a more appropriate swap...or even a Bryan Reynolds. escobar is in fact your insurance. but Baty is pretty damn athletic, and he also hit 21 homers in 106 games last year. He may even be your RFer of the future. Point is, he's good, he's got power, he's got a dominant left hand. I also don't think we get him. But fun trade idea. You legit would have a future of potentially Baty at 3rd, Colson at SS and Kath finding is way. 3 left handed prospects...be still my heart.
  19. he's also doing this in a year he's probably lost a pretty big chunk of his worth. There is probably no more fun way to spend money. He figured that out.
  20. exactly. Thats why I don't think they'd throw away projects for savings, they may very well need them in season to acquire.
  21. the good news for the mets and spending is they have also paired it with building a really good farm since cohen took over. Remember, they've also taken pretty big swings getting some unsignable guys to sign.
  22. Hard to see it as a guarantee, braves rotation can still eat anyone up when they are right.
  23. As I said, they pull that deal off I’d be extremely happy and eat clothing
  24. He’s doing it because he wants to win. He could use baty to get a way better player.
  25. Y’all listen to yourselves! Cohen is gonna make a stupid deal because he doesn’t want to pay money? No!
