Reminds me of the 2021 tigers parlaying that to 2022 success. -

Lindor would fit perfectly for this team. Move Vaughn to third, Lindor to short, TA to second and moncada to third -
Steve Kerrs experience post back surgery really drove this home to me.

White Sox acquire reliever Gregory Santos from SF

who cares, mcclure sucks. Santos probably sucks, but he was also playing in PCL and had a better ERA in the majors than McClure did in AAA. He also doesn't give up 17 homers a year out of the bullpen. -

McClure was exciting a few years ago when his velo increase took him from high 80s to low 90s, but that didn't really translate into anything interesting. He'll be 27 next year, and he's a low velo righty reliever that gives up a lot of home runs. He's extremely hittable. Giants may very well find some disguise for his weird delivery/height that gets more out of him, but it ain't happening here. They have, however, shown some ability to harness better powered arms. So good trade. No louisville pitchers ever again. -

Our AAA pitchers were so bad last year I’m fine if all were churned out. So good. -

I will say that I forgot the Yankees really haven’t signed an infielder which I definitely assumed they would at this point. I kinda think yanks want to upgrade infield d and will pay padres for the privilege of Kim -

Wouldn’t be horrible. Mark Payton’s zips were so shockingly good I’m kinda interested. Also romy hits the ball hard, and can play any position while colas earns it. -
Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
bmags replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It looks like Benintendis biggest weakness is covering left-center, so you’d hope if we get a dynamic Robert again he could mitigate that. He’s fine/strong to his right, front, back since leaving bostons LF -

Im still kinda hoping for a Hendriks-Gleybar Torres trade, use savings toward Profar/Duvall as our placeholder/backup OF -
Kinda sad here. He was our one infielder I felt confident we’d get good defense across third/short/second. Leury has always been bizarrely bad at second.

An interesting garbage bin guy to ask about is Schoop. I don't really understand what led to the absolutely bonkers-good defensive year last year, but he's clearly good to very good most years at 2b. He's also a good club house guy. The tigers are rebuilding, they don't need a vet at 2b for a 7 mill year like Avila. Obviously from a optics standpoint, collecting another member of the "historically bad offensively in 2022" club may not be popular. It is hard to believe how big that drop off was. But he had a babip go down to .230 from a guy typically at Tim Anderson levels of BABIP. His hard hit profile was fine, his medium hit was also fine. Anyway i'm sorry. -
I keep reading this and picking up new nuggets. I do think the BA guys are right, I really have expectations that come the draft in mid-july we are talking about a system suddenly strong in some high end pitching. It is also a real defining year for rodriguez/sosa/romy/perez to show they can sustain some of this success at higher levels with more scrutiny. I really do like Shirley as a drafter, but we still know nothing. I do think he drafts guys that can hold prospect value longer for trades, which while Hostetler at times got us that depth, so many of his picks were considered maxed out by the time they hit A ball.

I think that's a good bet re: segura. -
yeah I don't think the giants are a good fit for anything related to near term success.
