  1. I'm inebriated currently.
  2. QUOTE (Ranger @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 03:40 AM) I thought I was pretty clear in what I said. Most of what I get (caller, emails, texts) is that people wanted Thome gone by midseason last year. Actually they wanted him gone midseason the year before. Now it seems to have completely changed. Actually, the Sox are really only in this position because Thome doesn't have a job yet. And because he said publicly that he would welcome a return, which then piqued everyone's interest and it became a topic. And because it became in issue, they've had to address it. I thought it was fairly obvious they decided to part ways with him this winter. I'm guessing at midseason last year no one was expecting: Kenny and Ozzie to be stupid enough to go into the next season with Kotsay/A. Jones as our DH when we knew going into this offseason that this would be a great buyers market for DHs. And I'm guessing what piqued our interest about thome now is not the fact that he said he would return, but rather we are really going into the season with probably a .750 ops from our DH. That's inexcusable, and who is on the market that is LH and cheap? Thome. And I don't think fans give a damn what was obvious when they parted ways, their plan instead of thome is god awful and embarrassing. This situation is a mess but easily fixable with 2 million. I can tell you it is not going to be fun to say "I told you so" when the platoon DH is a miserable failure that leaves us 5 games behind the twins at the allstar break.
  3. QUOTE (T R U @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 03:26 AM) ide agree with you if Minnesota hadn't beaten themselves.. NO's D relies on turnovers. You said that wouldn't last. It's lasted until the ssuper bowl. I win.
  4. I suppose I win the "New Orleans is better than Minnesota" argument from earlier in this thread?
  5. typical elitist liberal.
  6. i am hoping beckham can put up a .850 ops

I debated whether to put this in the catch all or it's own thread, but I was laughing hysterically at this, so I guess it's own thread. So a wife started to record the ramblings of her sleeping husband and make a blog about it. Here's some samples: "Jan 22 2010, afternoon Lucky us! Adam just fell asleep on the sofa.... "Pleased to meet you? Huh, gotta be a f***ing joke." "I like the balloons. I want one. If I don't get one, I'm gonna squeeze one out right here, right now.... I warned you!" "I want to dance in the rain but without the getting wet bit. Rain! Rain...."" Jan 21 2010 "You know, with you you you, it's all me me me. Well f*** f*** f*** f*** you you you." "Yeah I do. I have SO much to give. Choke on it!" "Deedoo. It's a deedoo. A deedoo...Oh, it's not a deedoo. I have no idea what it is." [chuckling throughout] "I'm trying not to laugh. But your face! Your face! Oh, please look away. Please?" http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com
  8. yes, I don't understand why but i just start giggling hysterically at the sight of the fish market. They seem so grotesque. So huge, as well.
  9. Why can't we airdrop MREs and water like we did so many times? Would it cause riots? Are we doing this? I don't understand why the bottlenecking has to destroy all of this.
  10. Flaxx, what fish? I should take a picture of what fish markets look like here.
  11. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) remember the band 'The Goo Goo Dolls'? i wish they had been aborted. I AM NOT JOKING [poor taste] You have to wonder if it was the lead singer's mother telling the tebow story if abortions would suddenly rise [/poor taste]
  12. pictures for my fanssss http://bit.ly/7h5Jgh Yeah i looked for mushrooms but all that they had were the jarred champignon s***. I find those absolutely revolting.
  13. If this is the best that AQ now has to offer, a guy failing to blow up his junk, then count me as unimpressed, and therefore, fairly encouraged.
  14. I'm going to help out tex here so he doesn't appear to be arguing against something that doesn't exist: GOOOO ABORTIONS!
  15. In the beginning of the offseason Thome was not on my shortlist for future DH. But with the current list and knowing our budget constraints, I feel its unconscionable to ignore this position that can so easily be improved. The most optimistic thing you can say about Jones/Kotsay is that they are unknowns, cause if we get the last 3 years production out of them, it's disgusting. Thome provides a near .370-380 OBP at least, a >.800 OPS at least as well and all that for probably 2 mill. It's about taking an easy step to improve the team instead of just going in with a s*** bunch out of delusional adherence to your idiotic managers wishes.
  16. God that's despicable. However I would like to get into the free lunch program. I don't understand why we don't make it healthy foods.
  17. Good to know.
  18. wow. Just wow. I don't know who kicked Ozzie in the temples, but eff them.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) It worked out so well with Tiennamen Square. China doesn't routinely play the "great satan" card.
  20. These two men are NOT stupid, I know this. However, this is the STUPIDEST DAMN THING I'VE EVER COME ACROSS AS A SPORTS FAN! This isn't poor judgment in the "we don't know how to scout" category, or the "we sign the wrong guys" category, that just means you aren't cut out...this is willfully declining to sign a player you KNOW will make you better,a nd he's coming in at a paupers salary. KW is acting like his 8 year old son is in control of the team and he doesn't want to hurt his feelings. DIE EVERYONE WORLD IS OVER

Onde vivem dos monstros finally is hitting brazil...can't wait.
  22. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) Usually, but you can request mozzarella at some places. Pappy's was on Man vs. Food recently. pappy's is really good BBQ. I won't hate on pappy's.

alex bleeker and the freaks s/t is really great simple rock cd. I think many here would like it.
  24. wait a second, doesn't STL use provel?
  25. Overcooked the meat, I WAY overestimated how long that would take. I thought since I didn't brown the meat it would take longer, but it was basically boiling in the cream, I should've realized. Nonetheless, creme de leite is AWESOME! SOOOO much better than sour cream. My sister-in-law says that it's the equivelant of table cream which you can find in the latina section. EXCELLENT The vinaigrette is fantastic, seriously, best thing I've learned in brazil is that the s*** i was used to putting things on was SEVERELY limiting. (best example: mustard) BUt so, i used balsamic since I was w/o white wine vinegar, and it was still awesome. It's essentially pico, no doubt, but without the spice it makes it much more transformative I feel. so yeah. GREAT first try at brazilian stroganoff. Don't think I want nutmeg (don't much care for it.) but definitely missed the garlic.
