I just think we should be talking about the Saints. That convincing win on Sunday was huge, and very convincing for me. Brees didn't even have a great game, and they put 21 on a defense that I find to be the most dominating in the league.

Decades old war monument in peril
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) That's like saying the World Trade Center is a hole in the ground. Well, I guess I can propose they cross two twigs over ground zero. It would put an end to the years of failed planning.

Decades old war monument in peril
yeah yeah war on christians etc...blah blah But seriously you'd think after 200 years Texans would be better at picking their battles. Someone could trip over that and break it. It looks more like a trail marker.

Ex-ESPN NFL guy Sean Salisbury is pure "win"
There's a pretty high standard for libel, they'd have to prove not only that it was false, but had "malicious intent". It's rarely won in U.S., much higher in GB. BUT, the court costs of going into a libel suit can really cripple the media outlets.

I don't see how these two are related. I'm pretty sure I've made better monuments in elementary school for the christmas tree.

I mean, wale had three sacks against them, that's essentially the same scenario ss2k5 is presenting.

Saying the Vikes are the best team in the NFL really ignores some damn good teams that I feel are better. 1a. SAINTS

White Sox Pick up Garcia's and Thornton's Option
QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 02:08 PM) Now let us hope that we do not have to trade one of them to fill in holes elsewhere. I really don't think we will. I think that's what happens when you have a sit. like boston, with some people being blocked that can make it in. But when you have an overwhelming strength at such an important part, I think you look to upgrade it via other means. I'm not so sure D. Hudson is safe though.

Really pleased. So Peavy Danks Floyd Buerhle Garcia Who the hell would've seen that as our 2010 rotation in 2006.

I'd rather they kill off Vince, Drama, Turtle and E and focus entirely on Ari.

Sorry, haha, by not popular I meant most hated. Haha, I'm not allowed to wear that jersey down in Curitiba, I'd even have to think twice about what part of Sao Paolo.

One other thing to like about the Peavy trade
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 11:44 PM) Ha! I think you're about dead-on with all of those. I really think that Peavy is going to have the biggest influence on Gavin. Even when he's rolling, Gavin looks scared sh**less out on the mound, imo. I think Peavy is going to teach him that it's okay to get out there, have absolute faith in your stuff, and to let the hitter know, simply using body language, that YOU'RE going to beat HIM. fixed for clarity.

Brett Myers?
Do not want this guy. Hope he can't find a job anywhere. Even the raiders.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 07:53 PM) it was hard to believe she had never played in the US before this tour. Great stuff. Wow that's insane. She could've made so much money.

2009: A Big Step To Our Next World Series
In Getz first stint in AA his OBP was in the .320s, the next full year it was .380. You never really got to see his adjustment after a full year, in the same competition. So just because his OBP dropped, doesn't mean it's not a dynamic number.

2009: A Big Step To Our Next World Series
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) I said earlier that i think he could manage an OPB around .333. It seems to fall in line with his career averages. That's league-average, i don' think it really works in the future leadoff man arguements favor. How does that fall in line with his career averages again?

K, but, I mean it was his rookie year. You won't allow any adjustment period for this kid?

One other thing to like about the Peavy trade
He's a nice change in attitude. I'd love to see him and danks go back to back in the rotation. They both have that look that "I want to dominate you". Buerhle is more of a "haha, I'm smarter than you" while Floyd is like "Check out my pitcher face, do you believe it?" These are pure aesthetic observations in how I watch the game, have little to do with performance. More of a cinematic approach to pitching.

2009: A Big Step To Our Next World Series
Unless we can find a clear upgrade that fits into our lineup well (top of the order guy) I'm fine with the platoon at 2nd. It's our outfield/1b/DH I want KW to figure out.

The Democrat Thread
The thing is, no Zumaya is an idiot as president. Yes, he overstepped his bounds. Yes, he should have been removed, but AFTER a trial. This is so 80s republicans to merely support the overthrowal of a leftist president no matter. I like that we are respecting the reactions of the other countries around them and am in favor of our policy on Honduras so far. Americans enacting a more facilitative, patriarchal approach to SA as it grows as opposed to dominating will improve relations so much more and lead to some really positive benefits. Really tired of the only coverage of south america being CHAVEZ + LEFTIST LEADERS ARE DOMINATING THE REGION. Chavez is not that powerful, he's not intimidating/dominating other countries, he's in cahoots with Ecuador, they seem to be pals, but thats it. Colombia seriously doesn't seem to have a problem dealing with them, Brazil doesn't either. Chile/Uraguay are, once again, completely not influenced by Chavez. But I guess they are leftist gov'ts therefore Kill.
