  4. i am in the profession of laughing at these types of situations. Its the only way to stay sane. Somehow, soxfan, i don't think you'd have the same stance if this was just a politician and not a minister.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Just a quick question about television writing I've had for a little. How does a show with ongoing storylines use multiple writers? For instance, the person who plays Kelly wrote this episode, but it has to further storylines. I have had this question about the Sopranos mainly. Does the creator/producers have a template for the season, then go to the person writing a specific episode and say they have to include certain plot points in order to move the story along? i've always imagined that there is a principal writer, and then there is a script writing session to make everything match up, and refine.
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) I guess they've been gone long enough to get nostalgic about it, and there's still enough interest to get some easy paydays. It's a win/win. i think there is far more interest in them. I'm just saying, cause the pixies dvd apparently shows them barely talking to each other and essentially in it for the $$ as zappa would say.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 12:11 AM) Yeah, not writing re-sign is almost as ridiculous as someone seeing the headline and thinking, "My gosh, Hinrich has resigned from the sport of Basketball." hahahahahahahahahaha

  11. isn't the rangers GM like 30 years old?
  12. i think there is a large diff b/w SOAP and borat, borat stemmed from da Ali G show, which has grown tremendously thanks to the internet, so the audience was being met up perfectly with the film release.
  13. again, i'm not talking about the actuality of the situation, i'm talking about the perception from the large consumer public.
  14. or the plethora of people who sound like this...jose gonzales, castanets, matt pond PA, sean lennon, etc
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 06:48 AM) And to top it off, i just found a handful of unreleased Trout Mask Replica covers from a project he'll apparently never get around to finishing and they are also cool as hell. that just sounds like a bad idea to me.
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) I didn't take it personally, if that what you took my response as. Like my post said, I think Ipods are overrated and underproduce. Apple needs to know there are definitely alternatives out there. Competition spurs innovation, which they are the leader in this category. I think they're lazy, right now, however. Any consumer willing to shell out 250-300 bucks off their hard earned cash should deserve better; demand it, even. while this is true, the style and interface of the ipods are more important, and however not true it is, people think that ipods are setting the standard in tech.
  17. i like the way american eagle jeans make me look and feel. And after all, that's what it's all about, soxtalk, that's what it's all about.
  18. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) No doubt the ipod isn't in trouble, but that was why I went and did some research. The point of my review is that you can get twice as much product with reasonably the same amount of ease of use and style. the short: I wouldn't break my arm patting myself on the back after i bought an ipod. Itunes is a nice show, but if you're willing to put any amount of effort into your portable, ipods just don't hold their overvalued weight. Ipods = VW in the late ninties I use "Kleenex" when I have to blow my nose, but I look at comperable items with similar quality and superior quantity. I'm not impressed with the Kleenex brand simply because it revolutionized the tissue paper industry. at what point in my post did you think that I was referring to a single person, especially yourself?

    LOST! thread

the only compelling thing is whether this is just another manipulation by juliette. As someone somewhere said, "if she wanted him dead, why wouldn't she just let him die. He's got a terminal tumor on his neck"
  20. ahh yes, reading is key i guess.
  21. the ipod will not be in trouble for quite a while. Its a cultural phenomenon, people even call products that aren't ipods - ipods. Somebody stole my ipod. I was hoping i'd catch them in this thread...
