Dayn Perry's crystal ball. Yanks 2006 champs
Rowand44 replied to southsideirish71's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This guy is a turd. Anyways, I'm pretty sure he said in an article like a month or so ago that the Sox wouldn't even make the playoffs. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Jeter doesn't have great range, but many people don't see this because of highlight reels. They see a play or two in which he's sitting on one side of the field and makes it look like an impossible play, when in reality, its a much easier plays for better shortstops. And let me guess you're making your defensive judgements on range factor? Defensive statistics do just about no justice in showing how good a player is defensively. You have to watch that player play or you'll have no idea.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Only if Michigan was playing.... That call was horrible on the onside kick. I dislike Iowa a lot but cmon now, giving Florida the game on a terrible call. Made me sick. -
Uribe is a better defender then Jeter there is no doubt about that in my mind. That being said Jeter is still a solid defender and while Jeter may be a little overrated in general, he is so underrated on this board it's ridiculous.

Doug Flutie just dropped kick a perfect ball. That was fun. -
QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) I kind of agree. It was a decent thriller, but the ending didn't exactly sit right with me and it seemed like they really were just making it up as they went along. That movie was mostly made up if you ask me.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) Dismissing his career and calling him possibly the greatest player ever is a wide range. I don't think anybody here is doing either one at this point. Right, exactly. Bron is going to put up ridiculous numbers but he's never going to be the clutch player MJ was and he's never going to be the defender that Jordan was, it's just not going to happen.
-
Bron is absolutely fantastic but he isnt and will never be close to MJ.
-
Hopefully 06 is just as good as 05. Happy new year everyone.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) Was the movie good? Meh, took way to long to get into the action and the movie ended way to quick, wasn't very well done if you ask me. The killing scenes were solid but overall it wasn't that good imo.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) I dont give a damn about his OPS... when your hitting at the top of the order all I care is you getting on base. And yes for a rookie it was a great season considering most rookies dont do that well when they first make it to the big leagues. If im right he made the jump from AA so whats to think he wont improve greatly considering how well he did his first season. I'm with you 100 percent on Taveras.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Is rotoworld not working for anyone else? QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Bad Request (Invalid Hostname) Type in the www, for some reason you have to type that in for rotoworld now.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) Haven't really heard much noise about him this season other than his struggles, unless I'm missing something... Last year's 6th Man was definitely deserved. This year he's been garbage, along with every Bull other than pre-concussion Kirk. Duhon, Deng, Sweets.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) Ya, I forget what it is. I almost thought it was a year, but that is probably too long. It is a year.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Is Alex Woodson even eligible to be traded as he was drafted in 2005? No. You're correct.
-
QUOTE(SS Gload @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) If Texas bears USC, does sportscenter make 05 Texas: History in the Making? When they're on the verge of winning 3 consecutive then maybe.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Wait what happend to Dolgin? He's employed by espn 1000 not the sox so with the switch he's a goner. To bad too, cause I really liked Bryan. To be honest, I've never even heard of this guy. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Is Ben Gordon one of the worse/overhyped players in the league. I think so. Yes.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) Didnt Seo perform pretty well as a starter this season too... I dont know why the mets would want to give up either player for Baez. Cause he's a bigger name then Heilman and Seo.

Kobe Bryant losing his damn mind...

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) When did he start to do this? Someone should tell him he looks like a douche. This season, he's worn them every single game. -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) I was at that final spring training series vs. Milwaukee last year. They looked like an 85-win team to me. No offense critic, they looked a hell of a lot worse then an 85 win team. Like greasy said, ST only matters for the few fighting for roster spots, besides that it's just getting everyone ready and in shape for the season.
-
Those games in Milwaukee were absolutely brutal. The Sox only played well in ST when I was down in zona to watch them.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) well said, my friend - any reason why white sox fans perticularly think that red sox prospects are overhyped when the most respected publications like baseball america, etc. are rating these players as high as some red sox publications? Hanley Ramirez comes to mind to be honest. He's been rated so high for so long it seems and I think a lot of people(myself included) have thought he's been highly overrated forever. He's been hyped and hyped for years and I just don't think he'll be very good. I know that's only one player but he's fresh in everyones memory. I will say I think Pabelbon is going to be a good one not confident in saying that for Sanchez and Lester though.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) You are a bigger homer than felix and rowand... and trust me that is quite an acomplishment. "The White Sox won't make the playoffs"--qwerty "Dustin Hermanson just isn't very good"--qwerty "Neal Cotts won't have an era under 4"--qwerty You're just an anti homer so anything someone says positive about the team you think it's them being a homer. True story.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) again.. explain. You're very biased towards the Red Sox and I honestly have no problem with that, that's part of being a fan if you ask me. The thing is though, you're coming onto a White Sox board and doing trying to spread it. Listen r&w, the Red Sox just aren't very liked around here and there are several reasons for that and if you want an answer for that it's mostly because the way espn shoved them down our throats that last few years. Obviously that isn't yours or any other Red Sox fans fault but it gets to become very repetitive and annoying. You're a very intelligent fan but you're not going to get any backing when talking about the Red Sox here because most White Sox fans despise them.
