Juan Pierre Traded
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Kenny said he wasn't interested in Pierre. Pierre is now a Cub. Kenny could have beaten the Cubs' offer if he really wanted to. It seems to me that he is confident in Brian Anderson. The Marlins seem to only want arms right now, or atleast that's what it looks like. They got two pretty solid prospects and a meh 5th starter type. After trading two pretty good arms to Philadelphia I'm sure kenny didnt want to give 2 or 3 more up, does not mean he wasn't interested. Every news outlet in the world was reporting the sox were in on the talks for Pierre except for Kenny himself, a guy who doesnt like people to know what he's up to.

Juan Pierre a Cub
QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) It is good in the sense the Cubs gave up nothing, but look at Pierre's history. He only walks around 40 times a year and with the exception of a year or two, has an OBP of .330. Pierre has had an obp twice under .350 in his career. That's the exception not the rule. Pierre is a damn good leadoff hitter who just had a down year last season, he's an absolute great fit for the cubs. Very solid move here by Hendry.

Crazy Carl Sleepless in Seattle?
I really hope Carl kicks ass wherever he goes. He wasnt a superstar here but he did his job. Was also fantastic in the clubhouse and everyone loved the guy. Thanks for everything Carl and good luck.

Ozzie to be on the Score today
Honestly, the more I think about it the more I like giving Juan a shot in the 2 hole. I loved Tad there last year but obviously the sox think they can get more out of him lower in the order. Juan has just been awesome when he's had a job to do, he obviously concentrates a little bit more. Give him a job to do nearly every at bat, while seeing more fastballs, add to the fact that he's a pretty damn good bunter, and I think it just might be a good move.

Teacher charged with possessing child porn
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) He is very respected among the parents. Trust me Josh, he isn't anymore.

Teacher charged with possessing child porn
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) he was suspended with pay. He'll be fired, he almost has to be. What parent in their right mind would want their kids having a teacher who possesses child porn?

Teacher charged with possessing child porn
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) Go to hell. I am not saying this is right however I hope that he can put this behind him. He made a mistake. What the hell is your problem anyways? Child porn for a middle school teacher is a little bit more then a mistake.

Angels & Sox looking at Crawford
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Just a question. Who plays CF then? I can't see Pods in CF. He was awful when I have seen him out there before. I'm sure Crawford would. Crawford is one hell of a left fielder, I'm not sure how good of a cf he is but I'm sure he'd play center here cause Kenny has said that Pods is best left where he is right now.

Levine on this morning AM 1000
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Not a chance. if I had the chance to get a guy with that kind of arm, I would be all over him, especially if it didn't cost too much. A guy like that might just need a change of scenery and a new teacher ala Bobby Jenks. You just don't find arms like that everyday. His arm really isn't that amazing. He's a pitcher with a funky motion more then anything. I compared him to Borch cause both guys were first rounders with talent who so far have been awful in the major leagues.

Juan Pierre Traded
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Yesterday, Kenny Williams said he is not interested in Juan Pierre. Which means absolutely nothing.

Levine on this morning AM 1000
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Maybe because that trade rumor was majorly bogus. Dewon Brazelton (even with his control issues) >>>>> Joe Borchard Brazelton is actually almost the equal of Borchard as a pitcher.

Javier Vazquez voids trade to Tigers
That would have been one hell of a move for Arizona.

Burnett signs with Toronto
A lot of money and 5 years is nuts for Burnett but Toronto has built themselves one solid pitching staff. Halladay/Burnett/Chacin/Lilly/Batista(if he's not traded) or Towers. With Ryan, Speir, and Frasor in the pen. Not bad.

Night 1 Notes from the GM Meetings
QUOTE(daa84 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) howrys K rate regressed drastically last year, Who gives a hoot about his k rate, he posted a 2.47 era, only 49 hits in 73 innings and only 16 walks as well. The guy was absolutely terrific.

Night 1 Notes from the GM Meetings
QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Boras will not get much for crede unless he produces... people need to start realizing this. It is fully possible after what we saw the last couple months that crede can out produce dye... ( think he can within a couple years) but it is also fully possible that he hits in the .240's again. I don't think that's the ultimate problem with Joe and Boras. First off, we're going to have to find out if Kenny will even deal with him. Second, if the Sox do want to bring Joe back and will deal with Boras, you know Boras is going to drag on the process and handcuff the Sox at 3rd base to the point where Kenny will just move on.
