QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) I should be reading. So far I've yet to read a page. Ya..well I have finals next week. By making this site, I credit you with the down fall of me, academically.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Wow about 100 posts in an HR, we are all anxious eh. We all have no lives.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Personally, I don't think there's a chance in hell Crawford will get traded. The guy I've long thought would be traded is Rocco, and the Red Sox could potentially be a great fit if they lose Damon. Why would the drays sign Rocco to a long term deal and then trade him?

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Rick Hahn was already on the Score last week and said that the payroll would be in the upper $80 millions, so around $87-$88 million. I'm pretty sure he was saying that with all the moves already made on what it would be.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) At least there is a new GM in charge. If Lamar was still there, this conversation wouldnt even be taking place.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) Hey, I never predicted Giles to the Cubs. Also, I was one of the first people on here to predict there was no chance that Rowand would be on the Sox next year. More than any other team, I have better insight into the Tampa organization. They're not going to trade the second best chip in the organization (behind D. Young), to get anything less than stud prospects. You did predict Giles to the cubs, I remember that. You know I'm just giving you s*** for the sake of giving you s***, everyone makes bad predictions, that's the way baseball is.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I love Fathom, one the best posters here IMO. He knows that, and thats why I can give him crap about it. Him and I have had this convo before, he knows when I get a chance to take a shot at him, I'm going to. All in good fun of course.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) I am just going off of what Bruce Levine and Mark Gonzales have said, which is around $85 million. We're already going to be over 85 and I still think there is a little flexibility remaining.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) Carl has played 51 games in CF. He is a damn good left fielder, not sure how good he is in center though.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) "I will be SHOCKED if Furcal DOESNT go to the Cubs"-Fathom, about 15 times during the offseason. You have been wrong before. (Im never going to let you live that down) Furcal to the cubs, giles to the cubs, carlos pena and nomar to the sox, Pauly to the Bosox. He hasn't been on his game this offseason.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Man a lot of you people seem to really think the Al is that much tougher than the NL. It really depends on the guy, I think for a lot of guys it's a huge factor but for some there is no effect at all. There are some guys who just cant pitch in the al but our studs in the nl, Jeff Suppan comes to mind. That being said, it's not that big of a deal for relief pitchers imo.

God, I would absolutely kill for Carl Crawford. Mccarthy is off limits though but if they wanted a package centering around Fields, um....hell ya.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) And to be honest, its not there fault. I have never watched BBTN for White Sox news/highlights. During the regular season, they probably watched a total of 25-30 innings of White Sox baseball. These guys have to cover 25 teams(Im sure they didnt see an inning of the Rockies, Royals, ect.. and thats not that easy. Fact of the matter is, 95% know more about the Sox then these guys, plain and simple. If you take BBTN for what it is, getting highlights from the days action, and finding out about who went where, its a good program. That's a good point and I do watch bbtn every night during the season for highlights. Their analysts could do a little more though, atleast before they say somethign without knowing what they're talking about, they can take the time to research the subject a little bit. Like you said though, I watch bbtn for highlights, not for analysis.

QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Well that does it, let's call off the 2006 season. These guys get dumber and dumber. Harold and John have never even heard of Brian Anderson, I'll almost guarantee you that. That's what makes everything they say so funny, that's the main beef I have with espn, their analysts just dont do any research.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) Theh craziest moment I remember from him at ISU was like a 53 yard TD run. Who starts at QB for Miami next week? I think Sage will get the nod. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 03:02 AM) It is said about ten times a year... really annoying if you ask me. If he really wants to go to the cardinals shut up about it until you are a free agent and then talk about it. That is the one thing that has always annoyed me about buehrle. It's not his fault he gets asked about it a million times a year. He's mentioned it by himself once or twice that he'd like to play there maybe a year or two with his career winding down, the other teams that he's talked about it has been because the media has asked him about it.

QUOTE(soxfan420 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) 13 mill a year is not to bad but maybe im low balling him with increase in rev, and more support from the great people of chicago wouldn't now be the time to win back the city for good. You want to pay Damon more then Konerko? The sad part is, he might get something outrageous like that. See: Rafael Furcal.

QUOTE(SoCalSouthSider59 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) And on Jan. 10th, the best Cop drama ever to grace the airwaves, The Shield........ This and family guy are really the only two shows I watch all the time. Absolutely love the shield.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) They were full of solid lines today. In fact, this whole offseason has been awesome for the most part. The Ponson thing was awesome, they took a shot at the A's for signing Loaiza(Jose Lima had a good outing in Winter Ball, and they suggested the A's were smart for signing Loaiza now because Lima's assured to get $8-9 mill a year based off of one winter league outing), and they took at shot at Sammy today when he said several teams are interested...something along the lines of "It's too bad most of them were from the Atlantic League." Roto(qwerty)world The Ponson line was absolutely hilarious.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Are you saying that people who have a budget, resources, and time to research contacts and develop relationships within the organization know the same as you do? Where do you get your information? Yes Tex, cause they're in the middle of the negotiation process. They heard something from the ever so reliant Bruce Levine and started speculating and that's all they were doing was throwing numbers out there and speculating. Anyone here can throw out numbers and speculate as well, when this was being talked about on the show it was the first they heard of it and they just went on to talk about it, nothing more.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) This Morrison guy isn't half bad , averaging 30ppg through 6 games now. He's got a great shot at NPOY. He's fun to watch. The guy is an akward player if that makes any sense. He dribbles funny, he takes off balance shots where I think he has no shot to even get the ball off and he just drains them some how. He's awesome, that's for sure.
