What did Bruce Levine speculate on ?
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) There was no mention of Nomar when he was on. Nomar and Bill kind of sound alike, no?

What did Bruce Levine speculate on ?
If the Sox could convince Bill Mueller to become the super sub type with still getting a good amount ab's for a fair price I would be thrilled. A guy with a good bat off the bench that could play a lot of positions. Hopefully something like that would be able to happen.

Restocking The Lefties
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 05:54 AM) We'll be re-stocking in the draft. Of course we did so well from that draft last year getting Gio, Lumsden, Liotta, Whisler (albeit he hasn't been good) building up that depth in the first place. You're a year off there.

throwing a name out here
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Just so you know... Wilkerson has gotten most of his ABs(about 1000 of them) the last two years, that's right, from the lead off spot. I know that, but I believe he's more of a middle of the order hitter and I don't think he's the top of the order hitter the sox are looking for but that's obviously jmo. The Nats really havent had anyone else to hit in that spot unless the great Christian Guzman counts.

Some notes out of Cleveland
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Hmm. Byrd would be a very solid sign don't you think? I think so. I think he'd be a great replacement for Scott Elarton in their rotation. They need Kevin Millwood or a Kevin Millwood type though, afterall he was only their best pitcher last season.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Best moment of the night was when Killingsworth made that dunk to put us on top for a little bit. The place erupted insanely; my ears ring, just thinking about it. I absolutely loved it, and had a great time, despite the outcome. However, Killingsworth simply can't do it on his own. He made more mistakes than he's made against the lesser opponents, but he still had his best game, by far in a Hoosier uniform. The guards weren't there tonight; we couldn't buy a basket outside of the paint. Killingsworth had half of our 3's; it won't work like that. We definitely could have had this one. It didn't happen though. Now will you please change that digusting sig and avy?

Free agent resource.
QUOTE(OilCan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Hmmmm...Paul Byrd as an Indian....interesting. Gotta hand it to Paul, he can still give you around 5-7 good innings an outing. He's a solid 4-5 starter, would be a definite upgrade over scott elarton for them.

throwing a name out here
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) he takes a ton of pitches. Everytime I have seen him against the Braves and other teams he is taking a ton of pitches. He is an ideal lead off man. His at-bats usually last around 11 pitches and he can get on base. Wilkerson imo should and will be a 25-30 homer guy, he strikes out a ton and ideally should not be at the top of the order. He does walk a lot and that's really the only reason that people think of him as a top of the order hitter, he's not the kind of guy the sox are thinking as of a two hitter, they want a speedy leadoff type who can bunt and move guys over when necessary.

Oh PTI...
I could care less what espn thinks of us but some of the stuff they say or show are just so bad cause they don't research anything. Well just now on SC they showed our ss for next year was Jose Uribe. They also showed a chart with Pods in cf saying that he's likely to move over there when just in kenny's conference call he said that Anderson will be in center as of right now. Good work as always, espn.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) it seems to me that no one on this board has any faith in anderson...yet i get the impression that in a couple years these same people will welcome young owens and sweeney. just out of curiousity, why? young is a better power prospect and owens is fast, but why couldnt anderson hit 280 20 70? It's not the fact that people don't have faith in Anderson it's just the fact ozzie would like to add a number 2 hitter to move Tad down. No offense to Wilkerson at all but I don't think he's what Kenny and Ozzie are looking for in a 2 hitter.

Official College Basketball Thread
QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) true, but game 1 had the most massive NA NA NA NA chant of all time. By far my favorite memory of any sporting event i've ever been at. Pods walkoff for me...sorry.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) i think i'd have to put that number 2 on the list, just barely though. (game 1 of the 2005 alds) There's something about a closed arena that makes it THAT much louder That was probably the only time I could actually hear anything in the 3 games I was at. The other times something big happened..the gooch homer, or the paul granny, pods walkoff, etc, I was going to crazy I couldnt even hear the crowd.

Official: Konerko Signs With White Sox
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) That puts the Sox' predicted payroll at $87.475 (or $88.475 if he makes $13M next year) for the 2006 season. Thome = $6M Konerko = $12M/$13M That still allows us some payroll flexibility if needed.
