  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) They f***ing suck. On a sidenote (as if I need to continue this rant) there must have been 35 f***ing free throws in the 1st half. What a f***ING f***ING f***ING f***ING JOKE. GO TO HELL REFS 1st half ends on a 17-4 run. I hope Scott Skiles chokes his team. They are garbage, especially when it comes to low post defense. Somebody a bit angry?
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Yup -- let's not forget. Homeruns, pitching, and defense. I'm trying to think of games we won in the postseason without the aid of a homer. The World Series Game 4 clincher, obviously, any others? The Buehrle/Washburn game, maybe? Game 4 and ya game 2 of the alcs. Those games we manufactured a run to win, that was one reason why this team was so special if we weren't able to homer we found a way to scrape across another run. I'd like to add more speed somehow but there just isn't any room. Get me a good dh, and get Paul back and I think all of us would be satisfied.
  3. QUOTE(Fenway @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) A-Fraud's You are so clever.
  4. Well if true, thanks Geoff and good luck.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Speaking of Griff, I wonder if he's on the market now that the Reds have new ownership. That seemed like a pretty logical choice for a dh if any of these other moves couldn't take place, just revisit the deal that was going to happen last summer. I think Kenny wants a first baseman though just in case of Pauly, and if PK comes back then the other man can dh.
  6. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Neither here nor there. Simply stating expecting both in the same lineup is not realistic. That's up for an entirely different debate. Why is it not realistic? Kenny is probably going to try and get a deal done for a backup plan to Paul right away, that way he has leverage in a deal to bring another big bat in. We have enough money to get both of them in the same lineup, it's possible.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Also.. I'm gonna get some details on his work ethic, clubhouse persona, etc. just in case this holds some water. Sounds good, from what I've heard throuhout his whole career is that he's one of the best guys in the majors, he's supposed to be a real class act.
  8. I think Thome would be such a good move, hopefully we could get him in a deal revolving around Arow though, I don't want to give up one of our starters for him.
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) This guy is trash. The other team in this city can have him. Pass. I welcome your statistics. Juan isn't trash at all, he's been a very good leadoff hitter for all of his career. That being said there really is no room for him on this team.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:18 AM) BWAHAHAHA at Scott Bora$$.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Not even a doubt in my mind. Aaron Rowand >>>> Jim Edmonds defensively and its an easy call to make. It's not even close at this point. Aaron is so much better then Edmonds in the field, Jim is the most overrated defensive outfielder in the league, imo.
  12. QUOTE(farmteam @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) What am I missing? Look at the headline on the paper.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Bruce Levine of ESPN 1000 said that there's a lot of interest in Marte from many teams. Of course, Levine is often wrong. If it's true, it's good news for us on the trade front. Marte for Delgado, take it or leave it, Florida.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Yep, that Crash Holly was sure a fatass. If you don't think steroids plays a big part in these heart attacks, you're naive as hell. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Vlad is the best player in baseball. Pujols doesn't have the arm and speed Vlad has. Pujols is a very good first baseman, Vlad is an awful right fielder.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) there are this many guys that are into this show? wow. ^^^
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) I would normally flat out agree, but I want my leadoff hitter not only being able to get on base, but to either be able to steal bases productively or have a little bit of gap power...Pods really had neither, though his injury really killed his ability to steal bases late in the season. To put it into perspective...Podsednik had 6 XBHs in 12 games in the playoffs. He had 29 XBHs in the regular season, in 129 games. If the Sox could get the Podsednik they had in the postseason for a large stretch of games during the regular season, they'd probably be damn near unbeatable in that stretch - similar to how they were in the postseason. A guy who has power, the ability to get on base, and the ability to steal bases productively is one of the most valuable hitters a team can get. Ahh..yes, the Wite theories of the leadoff man.
  18. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) the Braves would've been in last place without Jones. Especially with all the injury problems. The Cardinals won because of their pitching staff. Not because of Albert Pujols. Furcal and Marcus Giles were more valuable to the Braves than Andruw was imo. Pujols is much more valuable to the Cards then Jones is to the Braves but that's obviously jmo.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) I'm as big a fan of the two as any, but A-Row and Pods had a collective OPS in the low .700's. Thats not really productive. They did well in their spots in the lineup, which is more important imo, but they weren't that productive as offensive players. OPS means squat in a leadoff hitter.
  20. If I'm a free agent I'm looking for a team that can win, a city I would like to live in year round and a city where my family would be comfortable. Money obviously plays a role but if I'm a big time free agent I'm of the impression that 10 mill compared to 14 mill would be enough to feed my family and I can honestly say that wouldn't effect my decision that much. Now if it's say a difference between the league minimum and a mill or something like that, then it's a different story.
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Steiner has my vote as well. A friend told me that Triple H was no more than a cruiserweight when he first came to the WWE, and bulked up considerably and suspiciously. Triple H was very small when he came into the wwf, he seemed to be one of those guys that got big overnight.
