QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) For anyone without a pass, i suggest using church parking, which is right off wentworth, between 35th and 37th. It was open 3 hours before the game on Tuesday, and if you are there at least 2 hours before the game, you'll probly get in. You can tailgate in there as well. It's also very easy to get out of there and on to 94. ^^ I got there about 2 hours early on tuesday and was still able to get into the church lot.

He must be talking about a different sox, this sox team doesn't have a curse.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Let's just hope he hits doubles then. Works for me. Honestly though, I like what ozzie did in game 1, if pods reaches with no out, get him over to 2nd and let him take 3rd.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Well, either way, 1 for 3 isn't a very good success rate. Since we are going to be facing better starting pitchers whether it's the Yankees or the Angels, maybe Podsednik needs to play it conservative. He needs to be shutdown from stealing 2nd for a little while, I'll agree with that, I'd still love to see him go and take 3rd cause he's still been doing that rather easily even since coming back from the injury.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) How so? There is an element of surprise when stealing 3rd base but the catcher's throw to 2nd base is longer than the throw to 3rd base. Ask any good basestealer and they will tell you that. It's a further throw but on 2nd you get a huge lead and also you can basically go right on first move, while on first it's much easier to get caught leaning and get picked off.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) True, but Podsednik did get injured and it did affect his basestealing. Podsednik was only 1 for 3 stealing bases in the Boston series. He stole 3rd but he was caught twice trying to steal 2nd base which should be much easier. That's not good. I hope these few days of rest will be enough for Podsednik's legs. ??? Stealing third is much easier then stealing 2nd for a good base stealer.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Pitching wins in the playoffs. Boston didn't have it and we did. That isn't luck. That's baseball. The pitch that the duke popped graff up on was just an awesome slider, started in broke down and away, ended up right on the outside corner and got graff to go after it, GREAT pitching there, not much many hitters would do different.

Dirty play by Virginia's OL Butler

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) http://filebox.vt.edu/users/nvp1986/CheapShotUVa_Kiwi.wmv Just absolutely ridiculous. That kid is in alot of trouble on the field and off the field. This personal information has been posted all over the web. I hope that kid never plays football again, actually I hope he plays one more game and gets absolutely ripped apart, MCL/ACL/PCL on both legs torn up so he can never walk normal again. Wow, what a f***in disgrace, I'm with you palehose. -
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) Hell no. The Angels are by far the better team, and match up much better against our pitchers, especially Contreras. All good White Sox fans right now should be chanting LET'S GO YANKEES. We play like we did against Boston we'll beat either team, if we play like s*** we'll get beat by either team, that simple. Don't go telling people what "good white sox fans" should be doing as you're the one who predicted 75 wins this season and you're the one who said the red sox were going to kick our collective asses.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) New York won forcing a game 5 in Aneheim on Monday. I really think there's a damn good chance the ALCS will be starting on Wednesday. If that's happening you'd think they'd announce that tonight, no?? To atleast give people a day who worked their schedules around these games.

MO locates his pitches so perfectly that if anyone has a chance at this guy it's Vlad cause he could careless where it is.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Yanks lead 3-2 top of the 9th. Top of the order up for the angels.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) I think some of us, in our personal vanity, are missing the forrest for the trees: bandwagoners are nothing but a good thing! Think about it: revenue increases so does payroll. If its one thing Reinsdorf does well, its keeping payroll and revenue strongly tied together. So payroll increases. This only help. Furthermore, bandwagon fans are like first time crack users: they are likely to get hooked. Ok, maybe like first time pot smokers. Still, if we can get 1/5 to keep following the sox year in and year out, we've increased our fanbase and again--this can only help. Besides, if there was no bandwagon, we'd have nothing to complain about except Ozzie's love affair with Marte--and how boring would that be A lot of us just aren't happy right now cause those bandwagoners got our tickets for the alcs when the diehards on this site who live and die by this team got screwed over.

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) lol nevermind he IM'ed me like 5 seconds after i posted this Same guy im'ed me too, I don't have the exact convo still but it basically went like this: Him: Hey Me: Hi Him: I am looking for a backer over at pokerstars......I've won almost 2k in home games w/ buddies, is there any chance u can back me some cash man? Me: No, but im chisox7546(wharris1), that guy is loaded. Him: Thanks a lot. Me: No problem. And then some other poker guy im'ed me asked me the same question and then he goes "what about the other guy, is he a highroller?" And my answer was "huge" then he answers with this "You're lying, so f*** off." then he signed off.

QUOTE(Art Vandelay @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Well, #30 Ordonez means even less now. At least your name and favorite # will always remain! I got one of those too, not authentic though.

Interesting, odd move by Torre here. Rivera in for the 8th but bernie goes into center and tino at first, the yankees have lost their dh for the rest of this game.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Someone pull up those "Are you in or out?" threads that were going around 2 and 3 weeks ago. Ya think they might be an interesting read right about now? I was just reading that thread for the hell of it, there are quite a few bandwagon fans in that thread.

I betcha Hideki hits the ball hard somewhere.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) If anyone thinks that Ozzie is going to put marte in that situation again instead of Neal you must be crazy. He is now relegated to last guy in the pen. And he is only there in case, thats it. How do you know that?? Nobody knows that, that should have happened a long time ago but oz kept running him out there in crucial situations only to f*** up time after time.

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/bvsp...amId=3&sort=avg Marte vs the Angels in his Career. As long as he does not pitch to Anderson the numbers are pretty good. Don't get me wrong I DO NOT Marte in the roster but the numbers don't lie. Damaso used to be one of the best relievers in baseball as well, now...he sucks.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) says what source? Just some things I've heard, nothing is official yet but it's a definite possibility they'll push back game 1 if the yanks win tonight. That would not make me happy.

QUOTE(Stocking @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) what is the likely hood if this series goes 5 that Tuesday's game gets pushed back. I have game one tickets but leave for vegas Wednesday morning. Ill be so pissed if they push game one back. Unfortunately it sounds like this might be a possibility.
