  1. So Raw's first show with the brand split is one of the better shows in years and Smackdown's was a big pile of s***. I am excited for Shelton though, was always a fan.
  2. I hate this team so much.
  3. Meh. Ya, I've become that guy.
  4. There were some duds but overall I really enjoyed it much more than I was expecting. Bayley's debut and KO-Sami are all I need in my life anyways.
  5. Definition of hypocritical. What a joke.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) Just to frame the package for a HoF caliber pitcher under control for what a #3 or #4 starter makes, in his prime, in a thin pitching market when pitchers are getting absurd deals. Think of the biggest return ever in a trade in MLB history. That's what Sale's price is. And Quintana's? He really hasn't been all that much less productive than Sale the last 3 years, makes less and is under control for an extra year. Super interesting.
  7. So serious question: Just how much better than Quintana is Sale? I ask, cause the more I think about this if I'm just trading one I think it would be Chris.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:14 AM) There is no easy path to build without him. That is the fallacy here. There's no easy path here, period. But the path of trying to build around Sale and Q has led us to 0 playoff appearances in 5 years now.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 12:55 AM) My shiny new signature is better than yours and says it all... This is pretty great.
  10. I mean, Russell isn't Correa and Bryant isn't a "starting point" for Sale as he's one of the guys in baseball that's more valuable than Chris. I don't know why we have to go so far in either direction discussing a deal.
  11. I hope Robin just starts pulling random players in random innings every game going forward.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) This just happened and it was glorious. You should create me and put me on the Bulls.
  13. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Bye Bye Tiff, we'll see tonight if she can get back in, but out of the 5 I'd want Bronte in just because she is the least annoying which isn't saying much at all. Preference to get back in would be: Bronte, Mitch(what's the first guys name? We'll go with Mitch), Tiff, Victor, Jozea.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) This is actually a great example. Anyone expect the Sox to lay down $150 million for a player to take them to the next level after a rebuild? Yeah, me neither. They'd still be really good with out Lester. But this isn't about what the Cubs have done it's about what the Sox have done. This half assed all in method hasn't worked for 7 years now and I bet a half assed rebuild would end with the same results. I get the people that want to build around our cost controlled stars but guess what, this is the 5th year now that Q and Sale have been starting together and we have 0 playoff appearances out of it. That obviously isn't an indictment on either of those guys but if we haven't been able to build a contender around them yet, it's not going to happen. Like I've said before, I have no clue if a full on rebuild is going to work but I do know what's not going to work with this management. Burn this s*** down.
  15. Sorry to group this with Elliott's dumbass but Le'veon Bell is going to be suspended again now too for missing a drug test.
  16. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) What exactly is wrong with a 26 year old 2B who can hit you 50+ extra base hits, play solid defense, swipe a few bags and has about a league average bat overall? He likes red bull? In all honesty, he's not great or anything but he's far from this teams biggest problem as well. If we can get something of value for him then great, see you later but if not then it's not going to hurt to hang onto him either.
  17. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 07:14 AM) Do we really think if we unload a bunch of players for prospects, that the prospects will flourish in our system--a system where position players go to die?! Again...I'd love a good rebuild, but I just have serious doubts that our organization would know what to do with all the talent coming back. I think it would be a shock to the way things work. Quite honestly, with our management philosophy, prospects are only good if you can trade them for MLB pieces you need. I'm not sure we have the people to develop 6 of the top 50 prospects in MiLB. Even if they are MLB ready and start all the way up with us, we have a coaching staff who has worked with a vet-heavy group of guys as long as they have been here. Still think if you infuse your minor (and major) league system with some of the top prospects in the game, you better bring in the people who are known for developing these players or they will wind up to be busts. I think everyone is skeptical of it but at the same time we just don't know either. We do know whatever the hell they've been doing for the past decade now hasn't been working though.
  18. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) If you're serious about rebuilding, then don't trade any of the pitching. Trade all of the hitters except Morneau & Saladino as they are the only players who know how to work the pitch count. Get back hitting prospects who have demonstrated the ability to work the pitch count. I definitely think building around Morneau is the way to go about this.
  19. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) Narvaez isn't the guy. Kevan Smith might be. Collins.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) Roughed up Maddux? Honestly don't remember anything about the game itself haha. Just the drive home from the park and listening to sports radio with the trade going down.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Trade was announced after that game. Truly stunning I was actually at that game too. Craziness.

  23. Hammy for Lawrie. Hugwatch never ends with a trade.
  24. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) So who is giving the Sox this haul everyone believes is coming for Sale and Quintana? Are the Dodgers giving up Seager? BoSox giving up Bogarts? Cubs giving up Schwarber? I'm sick of being stuck in the middle, but there is a right way to sell and a wrong way to sell. I don't trust this front office to know the difference I don't think anyone knows but at least there's some options out there. The main problem is we can't really trust this front office to do anything at this point. No matter what, I'd like to at least try a new model instead of the one we already know keeps us mediocre.
