  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) So like 2 years ago, we held a draft, when we started the auction league (we were doing a standard keeper for like 9 years before that). If you drafted Aaron Rodgers for $40 bucks and wanted to keep him, he would cost you an additional $5, so next year he would be $45 to keep. The year after? $50... So I grabbed Ingram and Evans in our league when they were both rookies for like $1 and $2, and I've kept them every year. It makes those players SO valuable. I think OBJ has a value of like $12 bucks right now in our league. What the values also do is allow big name players to go back into the draft. Julio Jones was in our draft this year, because last year someone spent like $55 on him, and the owner wants more flexibility. If he really wanted Julio again, he could bid on him again. I believe we also have a 4 year rule on keepers now. After year 4, those players have to go back into the pool. That's really cool. I like that.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 06:08 PM) Keeper, Auction League. Took a very different strategy in the sense I always waited for value players, and ended up missing out on everyone I wanted, and had to spend money on crap players. Tyrod Taylor-$9 Julio Jones- $67 Mike Evans- $12 (Keeper) Ezikiel Elliot- $67 Mark Ingram- $13 (Keeper) Jason Whitten- $3 (FLEX)Spencer Ware- $6 Will Fuller-$2 Tyler Eifert- $7 Jamieus Winston- $6 A few other nobody $1 players Gano- $1 NE Defense- $2 How is the money value assigned for the keepers?
  3. Main league, we got rid of kickers fyi: Roethlisberger(hate my team solely cause I drafted this asshole) Forte Langford Beckham jr Mike Evans Gronk Kelvin Benjamin Seahawks d Bench: Melvin Gordon, Allen Hurns, TJ Yeldon, Jordan Howard, Treadwell, Bortles, Martellus Bennett, Dorial Green Beckham.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) First game ever televised on Big Ten Network. What a gem. I'll actually never forget that game because once it got to the 2nd half a buddy and I called all around Carbondale to find a place that was showing it so we could watch the end of it. The brand new(at the time) Buffalo Wild Wings was the only place that actually got the channel at the time.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) It's like you could have been a Cyclone. I don't drink.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) I don't know how good Iowa State will be this year, but the fact that there were over 50 RVs and busses ready to tailgate at 8 AM this morning for a game that doesn't occur til tomorrow at 7PM against an FCS school means we can still drink with any school. If we're being honest, that's all that really matters.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) I've seen quite the opposite and I haven't been looking for any information on this story. There's been both.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) Thanks. Pretty epic hike. Probably the best one I've done out here. That picture is badass dude.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 10:55 AM) The burning hammer was ridiculous. I actually slightly preferred the Metalik v. Tozawa match, but basically a coin toss on those two matches. Bottom line the whole show is fantastic. They actually had a botched finish, as refs are instructed to call matches as shoots, and Ibushi got counted out after the neck breaker on the turnbuckle. Live, Regal came out and said Kendrick shouldn't win on an illegal move and restarted the match. That was obviously edited out for the Network show. Ya, both matches were fantastic. I personally just got into the Kendrick-Ibushi match more. Can't believe they let Kendrick use the burning hammer.

Pool party tomorrow and my main fantasy football draft on Sunday. Pretty epic weekend...or not.
  11. Ibushi and Kendrick is another must see from the CWC.
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 08:00 PM) keithlaw ‏@keithlaw 3m3 minutes ago I'm assuming White Sox RHP Alec Hansen's night is done. If he'd pitched and looked like this all spring he'd have gone in the top 20 picks. Came in here to post that. Nice to see.
  13. If you're in a one quarterback league, it's not really a risk to wait on a qb.
  14. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) sure, but until we do I'm holding off on criticism re: trading Q and Sale That's your prerogative but I'm not sure how much history you need to tell you that's not going to happen.
  15. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) Then if you are out of the race next July, trade them then. Problem solved. If you are in the race then good, that means the team is playing well. So like the last few years when we just stand pat at the deadline? We can play that game again next year too.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) So having them trade their best players for more talent that needs to be developed is their best solution? That is so irrational. So you don't think Jerry is going to spend an abundance of money because of the fans and trading our best players in a rebuild is irrational so what do YOU want the Sox to do? I don't want to put words in your mouth but it sure seems like you're fine with them sticking on this road that they've been on for a decade now.
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) This is the common retort but trading them for less than they're worth is equally stupid. This really isn't a debate. We should want them to be traded because if they are, a haul is coming in return. If they aren't traded, it's because those deals aren't out there and it's not worth doing anyway. They're going to bring some sort of haul in return, I have no idea what it is, you have no idea what it is and nobody knows what the hell their "worth" is. We can pretend that we do but we don't. All I know is that having them together on this team has done absolutely nothing for us as our front office has no idea how to build around them. As I've said before, trading them is a complete crap shoot but I'm willing to take my chances as I know what results are yielded when we try to build around them. Instead we're going to keep waiting around talking about how valuable their contracts are and continue to miss the playoffs year after year because we need to get full value for them, and nobody knows what the f*** that is. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) This is the exact same stuff that was said about John Danks. Just because things aren't great, doesn't mean they can't be worse. We've made the playoffs one time since the WS year, one of 5 teams to only have 1 playoff appearance in that span and we have 0 playoff appearances with these two on the team together. No, things can't get worse.
  18. And in the mean time, while we talk about how awesomely valuable Chris and Q are, we can miss the playoffs for the 6th straight season with them next year.
  19. Shocker. Don't get your hopes up guys, it's going to be the same s***.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) Its all relative. I mean who else is there right now? Shuck sucks. Coats isn't exactly a premium player either, and isn't on the roster at this point anyway. That's definitely fair. I just don't care at all to see Avi anymore, ever.
  21. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:26 PM) I think Avi has looked better at the plate lately... but defensively he is nothing. As disappointing as he has been... The bullpen has destroyed us this year.... utterly. Our greatest hitter didn't start hitting until august... Frazier hitting .208... Then you add the injuries and a manager who never had the it factor... and you have a 63-69 team He went through a nice streak early in the season too but he'll regress back to being what he is. You still look at his overall hitting stats and he's just garbage. He's just an awful, awful baseball player.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) Ask me after September. They have been trying to replace the guy for a year now, and every time they think they do, something else happens and he works back into the line up. I know they are working on the whole "launch angle" thing, and there is always a small chance that yields results, but the odds have to be pretty small. As much as I can't stand this organization right now, I do agree with this. They have been trying to replace him and something always comes up, I don't see him back next season. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) Because he has more ceiling than anyone else that would be called up right now, and we are out of it. It isn't like we are playing to win anyway. This I don't agree with. The dude has no ceiling at this point.
  23. In all seriousness, moving Eaton out of right field at the moment would be one of the dumbest things you could possibly do.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:33 AM) Lets go three f***ing ring circus. Might as well I agree. f*** it, at this point lets just go all in on the clown show.
