8/2 Games
We need to find room for Ranaudo in the rotation for the rest of the season. The odds of him being anything are slim but I'd like to give him a 2 month try out and see what he's got in that short sample size.

Is this a PR Disaster for the Sox?
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) And that'll totally fix everything! A friend of mine is a huge Mets fan, but doesn't spend his time on message boards b****ing about how the Wilpons screwed his team by getting into bed with Madoff. He's had to focus his energy on the adult aspects of life, such as getting laid off and dealing with a child who has vision problems due to a birth defect. You could probably focus your energy on something other than telling people how to be a fan as well.

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) So if the Sox would have made it to a play in game as the 5th playoff team last year and lost 12-0, not making a trade yesterday for whatever they could get would not have been the blunder it now is. *Sigh* Yup, you nailed it. You win.

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) The same as most teams. I know White Sox fans are owed more than any other fanbase, but what you are arguing is 'why would they try to win?" You haven't made the playoffs in 8 years. Quit trying to win" Lose, lose, lose. Get a bunch of prospects. It's fool proof, and don't hold out for the best price. Just take what you can get. Since 2006, there's literally 5 teams including the Sox who don't have at least 2 playoff appearances. Two of those are the Blue Jays and Astros who can get out of that category this season. But yes, we're just entitled morons who can't see this awesome product that the organization has given us for the last decade!

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) When the Pirates rebuilt, they went 20 consecutive seasons without winning 80 games. Sure, the Sox can trade all of their good players for prospects, but how does that guarantee the team is better, let alone "fixed" ready to be in the playoffs 4 or 5 years in a row? Until we know what exactly was offered for White Sox players, I am a guy who can't say they made a mistake not trading them. There was a poster yesterday who said the return on any of these players had nothing to do with it. I think it has everything to do with it. They can still be traded, or maybe they won't. Until then, we have to watch Q and Sale pitch instead of a guy like Volstad. We have to watch Melky hit instead of a guy like Coats. We have to watch Robertson and less of lesser pitchers. I really don't have a problem with it. I will judge the team next year next year, not now. If they half ass it again, I'm with you, but I think they have learned their lesson. They are either going big or dealing guys away. I also wouldn't be surprised if a player or 2 is dealt this month. Maybe that will ease some pain. The Sox could get another Leury Garcia or 2 and the rebuild will be well underway. You know why I can say they made a mistake? Because that's all they've done for a decade now. You and anyone else can take the wait and see approach but I've been waiting and seeing for 11 f***in years now and I know exactly how this turns out.

**World Soxtalk Championship Wrestling IV Thread**
I loved the opening segment. It was stupid and really made no sense but I thought it was super fun. But just like anything with Enzo I get if its not someone's thing.

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) Regardless of everything that transpired "mired in mediocrity" was a misstep. Ya but think of the strides we already made, now we're middle of the pack with some special talent. Pretty big turn around.

Charlie Tilson Being Called Up
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 04:36 PM) FYI - FutureSox probably wouldn't rank Tilson #5 Gotta be somewhere between 6 and 8, no?

QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine 39s39 seconds ago Hahn - On fans reaction . We have special talent here so there is a lot of frustrating feelings about our record https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/760218060477370368 We're going for it guys They shouldn't even pretend that they're going to be sellers...ever. 2017 offseason is going to be a lot like this last one.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (TRU @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Maybe, would be nice to hear it confirmed. I still believe this front office went into this whole thing knowing full well they weren't going to trade any of this key pieces and made sure no offer would be good enough I hate that I believe this but that's exactly what I think happened too.

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) I feel like I'm experiencing an alternate reality or something. You guys are acting like this team is 20 games under .500 and has a bunch of pending free agents. Again, I understand the opinion that the team should rebuild, but I don't understand why everyone is acting like it's unbelievable that they aren't selling. It's very believable. They didn't "blow" anything, they just made a different decision than you wanted. Because we all have years of history on our side to tell us that this plan isn't going to work, I mean it's really that simple at this point.

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
I can unfortunately never detach myself from this stupid organization because I love them so much but holy f*** do I hate them right now.

Sox are going to blow this, aren't they?
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) I don't understand the bafflement. I get that you guys think they should blow it up, but why are you shocked that they aren't? They're a .500 team with all of their core players controlled next year. They just decided to keep trying to build and win. I'm not saying it's the RIGHT decision, but it's not a confusing one either. I don't think anyone is baffled by it(I think a lot of us kind of expected it) but some of us are certainly pissed about it. It didn't work this year so lets go ahead and do the same thing again that hasn't worked in a f***in decade now.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) Why not around one of the B's plus Benitendi or Moncada plus Swihart, etc? It can be both and depending on the B, you are still getting a ton of long-term value. Plus, I think part of this change is more realizing we can develop pitching and not position talent, so it is more retooling the club around position players, hoping we can leverage our historical strength's to rebuild the rotation. Bradley and Betts are both having better seasons than Sale, are both still on their rookie contracts and are both under control longer than Chris, we're not going to get one of them plus Moncada or Benintendi plus more.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) That is an opinion. I get your stance, but you don't trade Q and Sale unless you get what you want, and so long as you have those dudes, you may as well try to compete. Which is a proven failure with this organization.

Non White Sox Trade Rumors
Looks like Beltran is going to Texas, not sure for what yet.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) You don't know the offers, so to criticize them for not taking them is ridiculous. I have read many times on this board if Boston doesn't over their 4 top prospects, then no Chris Sale for them. Now the only reports out there say they will not offer their top prospect and the White Sox are losers for not settling. You could see this coming for weeks. Unless the White Sox were able to acquire the unreasonable packages proposed on here, it was going to be a b**** fest whether they traded him for less, which apparently you think is a good idea, or not trade him at all, which is supposedly bad. That said, there is still 90 minutes to go. Something will more than likely happen. I have ten years of running an awful organization to criticize them for. You also don't know what has been offered so to defend them is ridiculous. Players/teams/organizations can earn the benefit of the doubt but all this organization does is constantly make the wrong move. Until they do something different, anything different, my first reaction is going to be to criticize because that's what they've earned.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) No one should be mad at the Sox if Quintana and Sale aren't moved. Instead we should all take solace in the fact that this management group has a track record of selling in the offseason and has never let us down before.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) But why do that 3 hours before the deadline when you have other calls to make? They could do this any day after the deadline if they wanted to just lay groundwork I'm sure they're doing plenty.

Sox in pursuit of Puig
QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) If the Sox pick up Puig wouldnt that kind of label them as buyers at the deadline? They'd just be caught in between as usual. Not that I would complain about a Shields for Puig trade but it'd definitely be an oddball given the situation.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) The Sox aren't done. They may not blow the whole thing up, but they're not done. And Reddick would hold no appeal to the Sox. He's a FA at year end. I feel like your biggest problem as a Sox fan is you seem like you're way too rational as a person. The Sox management is it's own f***in animal. They don't think logically.

Sox in pursuit of Puig
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) These should just be moved to the Shields trade, no? Nah. Could be Shields but could be something else. It's worthy of its own thread.

**Official BIG BROTHER thread**
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Paulie is such a candy ass. Threatened by the women and needs to run them down. So insecure like his jagoff brother. What'd Paulie do? I haven't been keeping up with the feeds as much as some past seasons. And why was Cody a jagoff? He was a wuss for sure but he seemed like a decent enough guy.
