  1. He's fat so people don't like him, just like Jenks.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) Ha. With friends like you, who needs enemies. Haha, he wants to be a legit sports writer, he better be able to take abuse when he writes something awful, and unfortunately for him that's all he does...
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) I already made fun of that article earlier today, LOL. It's just terrible. He's already gotten mad at me on FB for tearing other articles he's written to shreds. I didn't even know where to begin on this one so all I said was "This article is just silly, don't even know what else to say."
  4. Ya, so one of my friends wrote this article. Good kid but he's one of the worst writers I've ever seen and he has a complete lack of sports knowledge, enjoy and please leave comments on how big of a moron he is: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ycn-10640141
  5. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) What new promotions would you start? I would have a Michael Jackson night.. It would bring in a lot of inner city kids and new fans to the ballpark. Bringing in kids for a Michael Jackson night...
  6. Come home to see this thread and it is on page 56. Ugh maybe the athlete I respect the most right now playing for a manager I couldn't have less respect for.
  7. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 07:38 AM) You guys are ready to instantly hand a starting spot to Lilli? Sample sizes aren't big enough. He should definitely be allowed to compete with Beckham for the 2b job, but he's handed nothing. Rowand fits as long they are willing to play Lilli at a few positions. And with a player like that, you get the most value out of him that way (unless he wants to prove even more offensively than he did last year....) Who is handing him a starting spot? He's a much better 4th of at this point than Aaron, it's not even close.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) It's kind of odd, being born and raised in Chicago, but I absolutely despise the "city-life" and could never really live downtown in a big city. I have to be near the outdoors so I can fish and/or hunt. Chicago I could probably put up with because it's what I know, but there's not a chance in hell I could go to New York City or Los Angeles or Houston. I know quite a few people like that, just completely different than me ha. I love "city-life" and can't wait to move to a big one. Oddly enough, I was not a big fan of LA when I went there but Chicago and NY are my favorite places I've been and would be the perfect places for me to live, hopefully beginning in April or May of this upcoming year.

    Top US Cities

Chicago and New York since I've been about 14 have been the only 2 cities I've ever wanted to live in. As I'm getting older, I'm starting to absolutely despise cold weather but I still can not see myself ever living outside those two areas.

  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:37 PM) The way things are going, our ticket plan will probably be named something like The Return of the Grinder Plan. Actually, this in a way might be why the Sox are looking into it. If we're going into a full out rebuild mode, it surely wouldn't hurt in the selling tickets department to have a fan friendly face around. Good point.
  12. Absolutely no point to re-acquiring Aaron. Lilli is better in every aspect of the game right now.
  13. Once again, if we're rebuilding it makes 0 sense to have Sale closing.
  14. Now that Ventura has been mentioned a few times, I actually wonder what his take is. If he had any influence on this? Seems to make sense that Kenny would bring in a manager to grow with a rebuilding team...
  15. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) So I see you have not disproven anything. Here, I'll add more for you to dodge and not respond to. -He loved the Beckham draft pick Seriously, explain to me why a NATIONAL BASEBALL WRITER would put a personal vendetta over his or her job? If you don't like the truth, fine. But don't make things up because you don't. Um Dodge what? It's been proven time and time again on here that Law is a f***in tool when it comes to the Sox, I have no f***in clue why and I don't care but he certainly has some kind of vendetta against them, no doubt.
  16. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Santos was a nice story but he was by no means elite...Sale was much more impressive than him. He has elite stuff, hasn't had elite results yet but certainly can get there. Still, if we are actually rebuilding(and actually hearing KW use that word makes me feel better that we are) makes keeping Santos pretty much useless.
  17. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Not that we'll have many games to close next year. ...but who slots into that role now? Dylan A? Addison Reed, the end.
  18. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) Wait, people still believe that stuff? Even though it's been proven he wasn't even working there at the time of the Wells/Sorotka trade? I don't care why he has a vendetta against the Sox but he certainly does...
  19. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) As of right now I'm not a big fan of this trade. Santos is a good, young, proven and cheap closer. I don't have a problem with the Sox trading him but I think in the long run they could've gotten more for him. As for Molina, we'll see how he turns out but Jim Callis of BA just said on the score that he not a top of the rotation guy, more of a 3-4 SP when he/if he's ready. It's not like this is the Mulder for Haren trade. Plus for every Jon Danks you might acquire in a trade like this, there's 5 Jeff Marquez's. Wonder if Jon Danks is friends with John Garland. Anyways, nobody in the world thought highly of Jeff Marquez at the time we acquired him.
  20. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) Have we forgot the start of last year? The blown saves we never recovered from? Then came Sergio and at least you could invest 3 hrs watching a game and have confidence we could hold a win. Ready for that feeling again? IF we're going to play that game then what happened the last month of the season? And Addison Reed wasn't on the big league team and once again if we're truly rebuilding then who gives a f***?
  21. What the hell is the point of comparing this kid to anyone we've traded away or have traded for? Those guys don't have a single f***in thing to do with this kid.
  22. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) From Keith Law: "The White Sox, on the other hand, get an extreme control right-hander without much of a breaking ball who could be a dominant two-pitch reliever, but is probably a year away from seriously contributing in the majors...Molina is a good prospect, probably the best now in a fallow White Sox system, but the return seems a little light for a major-league reliever signed to a very affordable three-year deal." Hooray! Trading a major league reliever...for what looks to be another major league reliever. Let the rebuilding start! Dude, it's Keith Law talking about a White Sox-Blue Jays trade, wtf do you think he's going to say?
