Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
Rowand44 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Finally starting to get a handle on this year's NFL season... Hit a big bet last week on the Bears with the Bears ML and over the total. Dallas -5.5 over Buffalo St Louis +3 over Cleveland Denver+150 outright over KC Seattle +7 vs Baltimore Chicago -2.5 over Detroit NYG +3.5 vs SF NE +2 vs NYJ Minnesota +13 vs GB I literally started to quote this to try and argue with one of your bets, and I found nothing I disagree with... EDIT: The only one I'd be kind of skeptical on is the Bears -2.5. -
Power punches: Pacquiao 117 of 274 (43 percent) Marquez 100 of 254 (39 percent). Pacquiao landed 176 of 578 punches - 30 percent. Marquez landed 138 of 436 - 32 percent.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 12:02 AM) JMM outboxed him, plain and simple. No he didn't.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) This has to be Lowery's last season, doesn't it? No. We are poor and he has years left on his contract, we're stuck and our program is dead. -

I hope Brandon Weeden wins the Heisman so the Heisman winner is older than the NFL MVP. -
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) Vlad's minor league OPS was .989, Viciedo's .784. Nothing Viciedo has done suggests his offensive ceiling is Vlad-like. Look at the leagues they were playing in at 20 and 21 years old. Viciedo made gigantic strides in just 1 season, he's got a ridiculously high ceiling.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) I swear that names in baseball, and probably in general, are getting more and more ridiculous. It's like everyone is trying to outdo everyone else. Shut up Herbert.

Crazy Stat of the day: This is the first time in his college career that Kellen Moore has trailed at halftime. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) http://youtu.be/1IdZkGnVBas Royce White is special. Knocked some of the cobwebs off today. Won 86-77, but ISU was up something like 26 in the second half and then proceeded to give not a f***. Team misses Diante Garrett though. Booker was the first big off of the bench. Hit a three for us. Ya I saw his stat line earlier, sick stuff. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) Haven't had a Long Island in a long time, but I remember them tasting good on the way back up as well. Pinch actually had pretty good long island deals.
-
Are we really talking about trading Viciedo again? Do you just not like Cubans or something? Just f***in stop already.
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) Weird, I just heard about these and am considering doing one in the spring. If you have a specific question or two let me know, I know a guy that does them regularly. Let me know if you're going to do that, I've been wanting to do one of these for a little while now.
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) Holy f*** grow a pair, at least drink a jager bomb or a beer. Long Islands are actually fantastic if you're trying to get wasted. Coming from a guy who took down 20 Jager bombs in 2 hrs, Long Islands are just as lethal.

Everyone on that Penn State campus deserved this loss.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
Rowand44 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:50 AM) Well, f***, I don't suppose anyone as actually looked at the problems in this trade. First, the White Sox HAVE outfielders. They may not be good outfielders, but they have outfielders. If we are still including Quentin, then they have two big upside bats, one expensive contract with high upside, one talented outfielder, and one jack of all trades outfielder. That's 5 MLB outfielders right there. Jacoby Ellsbury, him, yeah, I get it, he's good. He's not going to be 9.4 WAR good every year, but he's a legitimate 3-5 WAR player, every single year, given health. That's why it's a given here and not on the field. Josh Reddick is an outfielder. Why? Ranaudo was a college pitcher who struggled in his final season in college and did not do well in High-A this year, which is a level he should atleast succeed at, considering all of his factors. I won't rule him out, but, simply, no, no value at this point. In the meantime, the Sox give up their biggest trade chip, their second biggest trade chip, and arguably the most valuable player in the entire organization right now. Um, no You say "Ellsbury, Reddick, Ranaudo for Rios, Danks, Quentin, and Sale," and then we can talk. Until then, that is worse than any of the other hypothetical trades posted on here, which is exactly what it was. If Williams authorized that trade, then he would be canned immediately. Angry Wite is funny. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) I'm partial to Loyola Marymount Ya, UCLA will be quite dangerous come March imo but they might get upset a few times in the early going because of their guard play.
