2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Even if they're not that great, they have the shooters to win 2 games just off of random chance. That's a tough series just on the odds. Eh, they'll just as likely completely lose a game or two that way. Like I said, I'd much rather play the Magic as they're just no where near as good as Boston or Miami. We'd beat Orlando in a 7 game series, Boston/Miami I'm not as confident about though I think we'd have a shot unlike most people.

The Magic just aren't that great. It'd be very nice to get them in the 2nd round but I'm sure it's going to be Miami or Boston.

MLB 2011 Standings Prediction
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) I have serious doubts about the Phillies. They're still my pick to win the division, as it's impossible to go against that rotation. But their lineup and bullpen have some serious question marks. As for the Red Sox, what can you say? They're f***ing loaded. See, I kind of feel the opposite. I wouldn't be completely shocked if they get overtaken by the Braves in that division, however, if they get into the playoffs, good luck beating those top 4 in a short series.

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) I'll be sure not to watch any games in which Humber, Harrell or Pena start. Maybe I can come to your spot and get wasted on those days? Ha, sounds like a plan to me.

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
It's pretty simple imo: Peavy starts on the dl, let Humber take a few spot starts(yes I know he's garbage but he's the best of the garbage that we have) and then dfa him or whatever the hell you need to do when Jake's ready to go.

QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) Who are you sending down to create this 25 man spot? Start Peavy on the dl.

Who is the best player on the Sox right now?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) I am OK with Dunn's defense not quite living up the mark of other DH's. Ya but Mark Kotsay was the best defensive dh I've ever seen. Big shoes to fill.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Oh boy. I'm one of "those" guys this year. My mom sent me a Valentines Day card since I am all alone this year. I'm so pathetic. Did include a $50 gift card to Old Navy though. I'm going to a Bucks-Clippers game on Valentines day with 3 other guys. I think I win the pathetic battle on this stupid holiday.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Shaq was the most dominant player I've ever seen in terms of sheer physicality, he was an absolute beast. Not arguing that. That doesn't change the fact that I hate the guy though.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) And the overrated chant is stupid as well because obviously OSU is one of the best teams in the nation. But they are drunk college students what do you expect. I'm not even going after the Wiscy fans necessarily because it happens everywhere, those are just two things in sports that piss me off. I'll never forget during our s16 year when we beat an unranked Wichita State team at home and fans started the overrated chant, I was quite embarrassed. As for this game, why rush the court if you're beating an overrated team anyways? QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) I hate rushing the court elitism. I would rush the court against Savannah State if people came with me. Ok.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) I understand beating the number 1 team is great and you want to rush the court, but wisconsin was the favorite. It's f***in dumb, not to mention the stupid overrated chant at the end of the game. Great win for the Badgers but like usual, fans acting like morons.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) That's what I've been saying for months. It sets up your best hitters in a R-L-R-L-R (switch AJ and Quentin), and it puts Rios, who has good speed, in front of the heavy hitters. Rios just really isn't that great of a hitter, Dunn and PK should really be batting 3-4.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) What are you implying? Honestly, I really like the Felipe Paulino, Ty Wiggington, Matt Lindstrom additions. Yes, I know Paulino's numbers flat suck. But his stuff is real. If he could ever harness it hell be a hell of a pitcher. I expect breakout years from De La Rosa and Ian Stewart. If anybody could do it... Ha, I actually agree with you that the Rockies are the favorite to win that division. That being said, the Giants are on my short list of teams who I think can win the World Series this upcoming season, and the Rockies aren't. Kind of odd but that's how I see it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Really? I would have to say I liked Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, young Shaq, Dominique, John Stockton to name a few more than I like Blake Griffin. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) Throw in guys like pre-crack/pre-fatass Shawn Kemp, young Stacey Augmon, Hornets version of Larry Johnson and Kevin Johnson to that list. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Akeem Olajuwon was amazing to watch in his early days. A seven footer with the footwork of a point guard. And those were all great ones to watch back in the day(though for a few I was too young to remember anything but highlight reels and I hate Shaq, the young and old version) but overall I just like Blake better.

QUOTE (Cali @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) I don't think there has been a team since the '03 Marlins who have less of a chance to repeat than the Giants. Even with Lincecum/Cain/Bumgarner, They had so much go right in '10 and followed by a very quiet off-season....And that division is always tough and close... Eh, that division still isn't all that great. They get into the playoffs and those top 3 can certainly carry you to another title. I sure as hell wouldn't bet on them to repeat but if they do indeed get back to the playoffs, they'll certainly have a shot.

QUOTE (Cali @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Another list for you all to digest: Top 9 POWER RANKINGS pre-srping training: 9. Brewers 8. White Sox 7. Cardinals 6. Rangers 5. Tigers 4. Yankees 3. Giants 2. Red Sox 1. Phillies SHOCKED to not see the Twins on there.... Tigers, Cardinals and Rangers all extremely overrated there.
